The Relentless Ram of the North of Halsoni is a titanic, efficient nation, ruled by the Witch-King of Angmaruben with a fair hand, and remarkable for its smutty television, pith helmet sales, and frequent executions. The hard-nosed, hard-working, democratic population of 10.778 billion Halsonians hold their civil and political rights very dear, although the wealthy and those in business tend to be viewed with suspicion.

The large, corrupt, liberal government juggles the competing demands of Defense, Administration, and Industry. It meets to discuss matters of state in the capital city of Angmaruben. The average income tax rate is 70.8%.

The frighteningly efficient Halsonian economy, worth a remarkable 1,498 trillion dollaridoos a year, is dominated by the Arms Manufacturing industry, with significant contributions from Information Technology, Retail, and Woodchip Exports. Black market activity is rampant. State-owned companies are reasonably common. Average income is an impressive 139,050 dollaridoos, and evenly distributed, with the richest citizens earning only 3.2 times as much as the poorest.

The nation's skies are now a wasteland, savvy nightclub-goers know that structurally unsound venues sell the cheapest drinks, Rubenian Ram sanctuaries have been taken over by hydraulic fracturing sites, and the 'sing-a-long with the Witch-King of Angmaruben' album is a popular souvenir. Crime, especially youth-related, is totally unknown, thanks to a capable police force and progressive social policies in education and welfare. Halsoni's national animal is the Rubenian Ram, which is also the nation's favorite main course, and its national religion is Rubenist Flemingovianism.

Halsoni is ranked 10,130^th in the world and 125^th in The North Pacific for Largest Black Market, with 515 trillion Standard Monetary Units.
