The Islamic Republic of Tukerestan is a mammoth, cultured nation, ruled by Prime Minister Mahmood Tarık with a fair hand, and notable for its daily referendums, keen interest in outer space, and anti-smoking policies. The compassionate, democratic, cheerful, devout population of 5.077 billion Turkerestanis love a good election, and the government gives them plenty of them. Universities tend to be full of students debating the merits of various civil and political rights, while businesses are tightly regulated and the wealthy viewed with suspicion.

The enormous, socially-minded, outspoken government juggles the competing demands of Administration, Education, and Industry. It meets to discuss matters of state in the capital city of Turkerabad. The average income tax rate is 95.6%.

The frighteningly efficient Turkerestani economy, worth 743 trillion Tugriks a year, is quite specialized and led by the Tourism industry, with major contributions from Book Publishing, Information Technology, and Furniture Restoration. State-owned companies are common. Average income is an impressive 146,294 Tugriks, and distributed extremely evenly, with practically no difference between the richest and poorest citizens.

The government airlifts sacrificial lambs, the nation operates a "finders-keepers" policy with other nations' citizens, people transfer their assets to bank accounts in Manamana before getting divorced, and if someone says there's plenty of living space in Tukerestan they're lyin'. Crime is totally unknown, thanks to a capable police force and progressive social policies in education and welfare. Tukerestan's national animal is the Turkeri Wolf, which frolics freely in the nation's many lush forests, and its national religion is Islam.

Tukerestan is ranked 8,116^th in the world and 311^th in The North Pacific for Least Corrupt Governments, with 94.55 percentage of bribes refused.
