The People's Republic of Yeonguo is a huge, efficient nation, renowned for its pith helmet sales, compulsory military service, and otherworldly petting zoo. The hard-nosed, cynical, humorless population of 579 million Yeonguoans are ruled without fear or favor by a psychotic dictator, who outlaws just about everything and refers to the populace as "my little playthings."

The large, corrupt, moralistic, socially-minded, well-organized government juggles the competing demands of Defense, Law & Order, and Education. It meets to discuss matters of state in the capital city of Píngděng. The average income tax rate is 78.8%, and even higher for the wealthy.

The powerhouse Yeonguoan economy, worth 83.0 trillion Rens a year, is driven entirely by a combination of government and state-owned industry, with private enterprise illegal. However, for those in the know, there is a large, well-organized, broadly diversified black market in Arms Manufacturing, Information Technology, Uranium Mining, and Woodchip Exports. The private sector mostly consists of enterprising ten-year-olds selling lemonade on the sidewalk, but the government is looking at stamping this out. Average income is an impressive 143,419 Rens, and distributed extremely evenly, with little difference between the richest and poorest citizens.

The military is slashing spending on conventional arms and diverting it to spending on prosthetic arms, people of faith are sent to twelve-step programs for 'The Cure', colleges adhere to rigid ethnic quotas for admissions, and you can check out of an asylum if you've changed your mind. Crime, especially youth-related, is totally unknown, thanks to a well-funded police force and progressive social policies in education and welfare. Yeonguo's national animal is the Senrima, which is also the nation's favorite main course.

Yeonguo is ranked 14,148th in the world and 585th in The North Pacific for Lowest Crime Rates, with 95.29 law-abiding acts per hour.
