How would y'all and your government feel about formalising relations?

Is the nation more important or the ethnic group that controls it.Are nations only the domains of the people they belong to like a tool or do they have value beyond that like something sacred or holy or are so they intertwined that they are the same entity.

I ask because sometimes globalists will argue that their policies that hurt the native population are good as they benefit the nation but nations were created to specifically to benefit the natives so in a hypothetical situation where only one can succeed the people are more important.

Ι believe that a nation is merely a representation of the people in it, a very pretty Idea/concept. In the "ideal" nation, of let's say, Vipathe, only aesthetically and mentally pleasing peoples are desirable. Much like the ancient Greek Kallos philosophy.

I think nations are more a representation of its government because often the people disagree with the government's handling of the nation but cant do anything about it.

The native people are the nation. They form the government, and the government should be protecting their interests because that is the point of government. In an ideal world.

A nation that fails to act in the interest of its local/native population is often considered a failed state, after all
