Perhaps indeed. But how does that register with the needs & wants of the domestic Spartan? And what keeps the Celt or Germanic from replicating the model for themselves?

I will add to this, however, that we are seeing fertility declines in these worlds as well, the more developed they become. And there's reason to believe that as societies suddenly being sprung with all the inventions & practices of the West & Western-aligned Far East, they stand to enter into a steeper decline than the latter, which developed them originally and gradually.

Both China & Iran are examples of moralist & collectivist cultures which tamped down on their fertility out of economic need to do so, and are struggling to steer the ship back onto course. My prediction is, and this is something which is similarly likely to arise in the West & Western-aligned Far East first, there's going to be a need to utilize the fruits of automation so as to enforce a shorter workweek and a universal basic income, granting folks the work-life balance and fundamental means to become reproductive again.

That will also lend itself towards messaging about the desirability for a national population to remain or become demographically homogenous. Religions, and theocratic ideologies especially, across the board run into burgeoning irreligiousness as they become better materially developed, and folks struggle to accept at least literal understanding of dogma like creation, apocalypse, timelines, and so forth which increasingly conflict with the secular hard sciences. Both the recent Iranian protests & Saudi liberalizations are testaments to this, as well as the the new emirate in Afghanistan now even creeping into restrictions on education for men.

Such ethnonationalist encouragement is also seemingly the only way to propose a rise in fertility without provoking traditional feminist reactions. It can allow people to still choose childlessness, just at the cost of higher taxation or reduced state benefits, without alarming contemporary both sexes outside of the "far right" with frightening messaging over a decline back into distinct roles for the sexes.

The West & Western-aligned Far East have certainly become quite weak in a handful of key aspects. But that does not signal the rest of the world as strong by comparison. A quick snapback may be possible; just remember how the several centuries of Western ascendance over the rest of the world came after a two century period withstanding the worst pandemic in history, the largest (contiguous) empire in history, failed adventures in the Christian Holy Land, and a few other matters could even be mentioned.
