Larry sighs, as he flicks through the channels on his holo-TV.  Life was boring in Althanac’s capital city.  Apart from one dusty, old museum and a small, run-down theatre, the next best thing was television.  Still, it was better than nothing. Settling into his couch, he selects a re-run of ‘Desperate Housewives of Erkthan’, his eyes slowly beginning to glaze over as several women wearing too-much makeup appear on screen.  After an indeterminate period of time, the transmission suddenly cuts to an advertisement break, and Larry is broken out of his stupor as the upbeat notes of an advertising jingle fill the room.

“Love…exciting and new!  Come aboaaaaard…we’re expecting youuuuuu!”

Suddenly, the music fades into the background, as a smooth, clipped voiceover comes on.  Images of a sparkling, new passenger cruise space ship fill the screen.

“Coming to you from Red Space Lines!  Are you bored of your life?  Overwhelmed with work?  Looking for a nice, relaxing holiday?  Our BRAND-NEW flagship, the Vacation-class S.S. SANCTUM OF THE STARS, has just been launched!  With world-class features include 4 buffet restaurants with interdimensional cuisines, 4 separate swimming pools, a massage parlour, sauna and steam room, gymnasium, tanning area and all the Althanacian wines you’ll want to drink.  This is one vacation you will never want to leave!  Our friendly crew members are just waiting to welcome you aboard.  So why not book today?”

Captain Vladimir Potemkin peers intently through his binoculars, observing his new passengers as they ascended the raised gangways connecting his ship to the spaceport terminal. Formerly an officer in the Althanacian Navy, he had recently transferred to Red Space Lines, lured by the promise of a promotion and pay rise. But taking this posting was a massive responsibility. Potemkin was charged not only with the safety of his passengers and crew, but with the pride and joy of the Althanacian nation. The S.S. Sanctum of the Stars was not just any cruise ship; it was a symbol of Althanacian national rebirth. This vessel may have been converted from a confiscated Dogetopian cargo carrier, but it was still being held up by the government as proof of the country’s economic growth. The weight on the young Captain’s shoulders was heavy indeed.

“Ahem…Captain?”

Lowering the binoculars, Captain Potemkin turns to his First Officer, Jimmy Clarkvich, who has just appeared beside him.

“Yes, Clarkovich?”

“We just got word that the last passengers have cleared security. We should have all of them boarded soon.”

“Good. Right on schedule. Let’s get started on our final checks.”

“Aye, Captain!”

(Empire of Dogetopia passenger intro time :))

In the collection of people assembled, one of them was a human girl with bright, mint-colored hair and antlers. Her name was Minty, and she was part of the prestigious, yet odd, Windwaker family.

She’d been born to cult leader Daniel Windwaker and his wife, Desmenda, but because of her antlers, she ripped through her mother’s womb and killed her. For ten years, she was cruelly abused by her father and her sister, Phoebe, who resented her. She snapped eventually, murdered her father, and fled, living in the woods for seven years.

At age seventeen, a hunter found her, and took her back to Edina village, where she met a kid named Elias and an adult man named James, and they traveled to Caershire city. Along the way, Minty killed a Platybear, and Elias became edgy and cut his wrists, prompting his insane mad scientist mother to transfer the consciousness of a robot named Lucky into him, replacing him. Minty learned Nen from Elias’s mother, Lady Frugahali, and eventually reconnected with her family.

The patriarch of her family was a man (now dead) named Albert, who was responsible for the family’s wealth. He was a miserable old codger who pinched every last penny, and the father of Albert Windwaker II, Daniel Windwaker, and Emma Windwaker. Daniel was now dead, of course, as well as Albert, but both Albert II and Emma were alive, with Albert II taking possession of the family fortune.

Albert II is a true gentleman, yet also a shrewd businessman, Albert II always works within the law and is extremely polite. However, he also has the ability to bend the law towards his own will with his influence and money. He is usually against anything unethical, but cannot say no to his father. He is extremely old, but looks twenty years younger than he actually is. His father forced him to experiment on his kid.

Albert Windwaker-Minty and Abomimation’s grandfather-was extremely disheartened when Minty killed Daniel Windwaker and fled, leaving him with only one grandchild, who was subpar at best and brainwashed into a cult. He was worried for the future of the family and encouraged his other son, Albert II, to marry one of his maids and have a child with her. After the child was born, Albert II divorced the maid and took custody of the child, whom he took to his grandfather. The two of them used their connections to call in influential scientists from around the empire to experiment on the child, which became very powerful and intelligent, learning Nen at age two and reading every book in the family library by five. “Abomination” Windwaker believes that she accidentally killed an entire procession of people with her incredible strength, not knowing how powerful she actually is, during a temper tantrum. Abomination is a lonely child who is mostly kept locked up in the family manor, learning how to keep the family business alive and being heralded as the perfect creation at such a young age. She is not actually named abomination, it is simply what she calls herself due to her killing the procession, or so she believes she did. She and Fuya were the only ones present, and were so traumatized that they don't remember what actually happened.

Abomination is extremely intelligent, but she is still a young child and likes to play with her toys-some of which she makes on her own, with no adult interference. She is an avid reader and addicted to knowledge, leading her to come to blows with her father every time she sneaks out of the house to go to the library. She doesn’t feel like she has much in common with other children, causing her to feel lonely and rely on her sentient stuffed animals for friendship as a coping mechanism, similar to Minty only a year ago.

Whereas Abomination, or, Perfection, was given powerful biological and technological enhancements, christening her “Perfection”, her twin never even got a name. This sister, Twin, grew up bitter and has plotted to murder her sister constantly, leading to her becoming psychopathic. She regularly kills small animals and is obsessed with death. She is lonely individual bullied at school for her robotic arms and ignored at home, not even having a name. Twin suffers from an inferiority complex and has a silent, cold rage inside of her at all times. She is usually focused on trying to murder her own sister, although she’s never even come close to doing so.

That was Albert II’s side of the family-two children, born of their grandfather’s desire to increase the prestige of the family name. Emma’s side of the family was larger. She’d married a man named Rick Banfito, but he died mysteriously after she had her second child.

Unlike her brother, Emma has no problems with getting dirty for the good of the company, regularly playing chess against the government and other businesses to get her way. She is surprisingly affectionate to her family except for Abomination and Monocle Fox. She is cold and analytical in most circumstances, although not completely heartless. She isn’t a completely bad person and will donate to charities occasionally. Emma is a savage fighter who uses her immense strength to her advantage, being able to crack the ground and hurl shards of shrapnel at her opponent. She also uses her superior height to smaller enemies and keeps them at bay. Her preferred weapon is the flail, she uses it to crush her enemies skulls into a red paste.

Emma has two children-Castelia and Joseph Windwaker.

Emma Windwaker decided a long time ago to marry a man so that she could have children and initiate them into the Windwaker family, doing her part to propagate the family tree. Her first child was Joseph Windwaker, who was five years older than Castelia. He helped to raise her and basically acted as her best friend. Emma was a controlling parent who controlled every aspect of Joseph's life, teaching him Nen at ten years of age and training him to only focus on money. In his early life, he learned from his mother, Emma, that by utilising "Hatsu", and developing it, he could make a personal expression of nen, otherwise known as a Nen ability, even including the manipulation of others, and given his natural category, that's exactly what he did. Joseph began practicing immediately dedicated to his training and making his ability, developing it over the course of a year, becoming deceitful and a proficient manipulator even without Nen, and quickly formed a posse and influence in school, practicing his manipulation and even starting a black market of sorts for forbidden lunch items that would serve as practice later on in life. His schemes grew larger and larger as he became older, scamming people and even setting up a cult of sorts, draining people of their money. He acts as a sort of parasite on society, leeching away people’s money using their own idiocy, tricking them into buying alternative medicines, joining cults, and other things. He only cares about money and Castelia, not even caring much for his own mother. He has his own mansion where his cultists live, he claims they are “mere employees” to the government. He gives 16% of his earnings to his family to make them think he’s useful, although he’s unaffiliated with the family business. Joseph is cold and calculating, like most of his family, but cares for his sister, Castelia, considering her the only human he actually likes and is genuinely kind to. To everyone else, he is charismatic and appears to be energetic, eccentric, and friendly, although on the inside he loathes humanity and wishes everyone would just leave him alone, but he loves money too much to just give up and become a hermit. Although he hates humanity, he still respects intelligent people and will not try to coerce them out of respect, however, he hates idiots and happily uses his talents to destroy their puny lives, taking great joy in it.

Emma Windwaker decided a long time ago to marry a man so that she could have children and initiate them into the Windwaker family, doing her part to propagate the family tree. Her first child was Joseph Windwaker, who was five years older than Castelia. He helped to raise her and basically acted as her best friend. Emma was a controlling parent who controlled every aspect of Castelia’s life, teaching her Nen at ten years of age and training her to only focus on money and the Windwaker family as was needed. Before long, Castelia became as cold as her mother, and equally double crossing. She also grew to be much taller and more powerful than her mother, promising to be a superior version of her, as Emma had hoped. She currently works in the local Caershire government, hoping to one day work her way up the food chain enough to make major decisions for the family. Castelia has two different personalities; at home, she is a perfect daughter, loving and caring and peppy, willing to help out around the house and being glad to sit down and listen to any of their emotional problems, extending this to even to her maids. However, when not around her family, she is rather sadistic, cold, and analytical, only wanting to make as much money as she can, even if it means breaking ethics. She is fiercely loyal to any of her family (except Romano) and is fanatical to the point of fighting to the death when questioned. She doesn’t show her sadistic side through violence very often, keeping that particular thing a secret.

Then, there was Castelia’s husband, and her three children. One of them, Reginald, was back at home along with Castelia’s creepy uncle, Romano Windwaker, because Minty had beaten them up in the Caershire arena for training.

Castelia’s husband, Fukami, was born into poverty on the streets of Roku, but determined to get out of such a pitiful existence, trained long and hard to become a police officer, and was eventually sent to go and investigate Windwaker manor at the age of 26, where he met Castelia. The two of them quickly fell in love, causing Fukami to quit his job as a police officer and join the Windwaker manor as a battle butler. The relationship with Castelia went by extremely quickly, with them having a child within a year of meeting one another. Surprisingly, the relationship is strong, despite how fast they hooked up. He adopted Castelia’s last name because she insisted on it. Fukami is a silent, but caring individual, who mostly just cares for his family, that being Castelia and his son and daughters, Reginald, Kaori, and Fuya. Although usually aloof and silent, when angered or if somebody insults his child or wife, Fukami goes into a bloodrage and becomes extremely dangerous, not caring about the law as long as it means teaching them a lesson about messing with the wrong people.

Kaori Windwaker was born seven years ago as an experiment of sorts, Castelia Windwaker wanted to see if she could combine the traits of beast and human into a child to make them more powerful, and so she had sex with her husband and then ordered her top scientists to insert cat DNA in the embryo, resulting in the Neko Twins, Kaori and Fuya. Although they are younger than Reginald, they mastered Nen quicker than he did, both of the twins learning it at age five and maintaining it ever since. However, Kaori grew jealous of Abomimation’s status in the family soon and vowed to kill her, agreeing with Twin on the issue. The two of them are good friends and team up on Abomination, and occasionally work with Reginald, although they usually don’t bother. Like Twin, Kaori has dark hobbies and is bloodthirsty, showing signs of having potential to be a great assassin in the future. Kaori often gets exasperated with Fuya’s naivety and kindness, however, it comes from a place of genuine love, and Kaori often thinks of her sister and they play together. When with Fuya, Kaori is merely a bit cynical, but has a playful personality. Around adults she tends to play off of her cynical side more, pretending to just be a cute innocent little girl and nothing more.

Fuya Windwaker was born seven years ago as an experiment of sorts, Castelia Windwaker wanted to see if she could combine the traits of beast and human into a child to make them more powerful, and so she had sex with her husband and then ordered her top scientists to insert cat DNA in the embryo, resulting in the Neko Twins, Kaori and Fuya. Although they are younger than Reginald, they mastered Nen quicker than he did, both of the twins learning it at age five and maintaining it ever since. Fuya has taken to befriending Abomination, and they often play together. She highly dislikes Twin and calls her names. Because Fuya is friends with Abomination and Kaori is friends with Twin, they have both agreed to play with their friends separately and act neutral when in a group of four. The two nekos are both good friends with one another. Three or so years ago, Fuya killed off most of the Fujin (Albert's brother's lineage) side of the family after going berserk, but the accident was attributed to Abomination, which caused her to take the name. Unlike her sister, Fuya’s personality is pretty consistent all around the board; she is a happy-go-lucky little girl that enjoys having fun and especially dolls and girls toys, and she can be a bit annoying at times when she tries to make others as happy and peppy as she is. She will, however, oppose Twin, believing her to be a bad influence on her sister.

Finally, there was Phoebe. Phoebe was born thirty years ago to her overly religious parents in the crappy small town of Edina, where her parents brainwashed her into thinking that the world was black and white and that there is only right and wrong. She learned from them that if something was evil, she was justified in doing literally anything to stop them, and she was spoiled. However, at age 16, Minty was born and ended up killing her mother through childbirth. Phoebe and Minty’s father fell into a horrible depression for two years, upon which Phoebe lived in misery. She stayed for another six years, witnessing Minty’s abuse and doing nothing to stop it, convinced that Minty was evil, and therefore, the abuse was justified. At age twenty four, Phoebe left home to go to Caershire, becoming a police officer renowned for legendary brutality. In recent years, she has reflected on Minty’s treatment and decided that she doesn’t agree with child abuse, as children can’t possibly be evil in her opinion-an opinion she has to carefully consider over many years. She regrets not being able to help her little sister and wants to get in touch, but neither knows where the other is, and Phoebe is scared that Minty will reject her for ignoring her abuse. As a result of this regret for not helping minty, Phoebe is especially brutal towards child related towards chins related crimes. Phoebe was told from a young age by her overly religious father that she was brought into the world to purge evil, although that was in a metaphorical sense. However, after seeing how he physically abused Minty, she took it in a different sense, taking inspiration from his brutality to become a police officer and quite literally wipe out evil. She is overly righteous and thinks she can never be wrong, and that criminals are naturally evil and can’t be changed. She is extremely brutal and cruel to any suspects, using excessive force to catch them at times and enjoying the hunt, much like her sister. She especially loves psychological torment.

The Windwaker family had Nen, a mystical ability that manifested differently for each person. Mastering it was deadly and dangerous for those involved, but quite useful. To non-Nen users, they couldn’t see the abilities of the Windwaker family, such as when Castelia summoned her claws, or Fukami his tentacles. They’d see someone floating in the air next to him if he picked them up, but not his tentacles. Each family member had an ability except for Minty and Phoebe, who hadn’t been initiated properly.

And that was everyone with Minty on the cruise. Ever since Albert had kicked the bucket, Albert II had been planning a family vacation, which everyone agreed with, and here they were. Emma and Castelia both looked weary, as they were the strongest in the family other than Abomination, and were protective. And so they entered the ship, leaving behind their comparatively primitive planet for the vacation of a lifetime. They’d registered their weapons ahead of time, as was permitted by the cruise services, and they were wearing a mixture of fancy rich people clothes and swimwear.

(Sorry about the length of the post, all future ones will both be smaller and less exposition-y. I just needed to properly introduce them)

The Mefbrinians are surprised that the technology actually works both ways-the Nekoese signal reached the other ship, even if they didn’t understand one another. Luckily, the humans sent the broadcast builds on the 1974 Arecibo message and portrayed information about science, math and human life, which had been decided by the Mefbrinians and Nekos a while ago. It contained little useful knowledge, but they knew English from it.
