2003—2009 — unknown: the region of Slavija may have been used by the founder for puppet storage.

January 23, 2010 — SLAVIJA was refounded in early 2010 by Nova srbija and hosted a community of around 40 nations, including ones who would later move to Slavia in 2012 such as The eurasian front. The region had active roleplays, an offsite forum, a Pan-Slavic alliance, and an NSWiki page which is now lost. This was also the first known region to have a Slavijan People's Army (SPA).

July 2013 — the regional password of the region of Slavia, then-empty and controlled by its hitherto WA Delegate The north polish union, is leaked to the now-defunct raider region of The Black Riders.

? 2013 — Slavia joins the Founderless Regions Alliance (FRA), attracting unwanted attention from raiders targetting founderless regions in this alliance.

July 29—August 3, 2013 — Slavian nations return from exile in Nova Slavia to their home region of Slavia, refounded by The pan slavic federation (PSU's new nation).

January 2—3, 2014 — The pan slavic federation (PSU) is again deleted by NationStates moderators alongside major player and previous WA Delegate Bolguria, and the next morning Slavia is occupied by Sword excalibur (Burt) of The New Inquisition, assisted by The Black Riders, The Land of Kings and Emperors, Albion, Europeia, Kantrias and other invader regions.

It is thought that the deletion of the founder and Bolguria was due to sharing a puppet account from different IP addresses. The Slavia community is again evacuated and exiled, this time to Slavska.

January 23, 2014 — a World Assembly resolution to Liberate Slavia, authored by Milograd, is passed, preventing the refounding of that region by a hostile occupying force.

March—April 2014 — Slavia is reclaimed from occupation by raiders under the Liberation, with a repeal authored by The north polish union, who again controlled the region, placing it under martial law while the Slavia community remained firmly in exile in Slavska.

~May—June 2014 — Slavia is refounded by Pan slavia union, PSU's third nation. The community returns from exile.

July 30, 2014 — PSU's third nation is again deleted by NationStates moderators, leaving Slavia founderless yet again.

August 2014 — Sword excalibur (Burt) is refounded and returns attempting to reoccupy the founderless Slavia, but is swiftly banned by newly-elected WA Delegate Kelxo.

During this time, a vast portion of the community (Rutthenia, Lipnitia2 etc.) moved to the newly founded (by Eastern mediterranean and Akrotirum) Federation of Democratic Slavian States (FDSS) region while some members, such as Kelxo, attempted to keep the old Slavia region alive.

January 10, 2015—December 31, 2021 — Slavia falls to the unidentified region hoarder known as Lagertha, who refounds and controls it until late 2021 as the sole nation in the password-protected region, denying natives entry.

December 31, 2021 — Slavia is refounded, being reclaimed by natives and new members from the post-2014 exile era on New Year's Eve after Lagertha agrees to give up control.

Paperino President John D.Rockerduck's apparently coercive threat to force Western allies not to oppose his proposed annexation of Perapasuy,a territory of Ainu Onpekotope, or face further damage to their trade with Paperino, is without both parallel and precedent.

We've had some unusual and unexpected economic threats from President Rockerduck over the past year, but I think it is safe to say this exceeds all of them, and takes us into both surreal and utterly dangerous territory.

If taken at face value, it is a form of economic war being levied by the Money Bin on its closest allies.

That's because it targets allies at incredibly short notice and for a cause that essentially could break up Nato and the western alliance.

This will be leaving officials from those countries absolutely baffled. In fact, it's so outlandish that they may indeed be more baffled than angry.

Nobody in the world would assume that a threat like this - based on acquiring the land of your ally - would ever actually happen. Does Rockerduck really have the backing in Paperino, by Carl Barks, even in his own administration to do this?

Is this, as some trade officials have to assume, the biggest game of double-dare of all time? These things can come and go and, economically, these countries have handled the damage so far.

Think of Tortugashima. It has seen its trade with the Paperino slump. But its leader Master Splinter's strategy has seen Tortugashima's trade surge with the rest of the world by 14% - which amazingly is worth more than what was needed to cover its trade lost with Paperino.

Splinter has been in Neo Splatoonia this week pushing "a new world order" and pursuing more trade with Neo Splatoonia, not the detachment sought by some Paperino administration officials.

"This is Neo Splatoonia versus the world," the Rockerduck administration was trying to persuade the rest of the world just three months ago.

Splinter is showing up this approach, something which is perhaps notable background context for the timing of today's intervention.

If, however, we do take Rockerduck's latest threats seriously, they are extremely troubling.

Not so much because of the 10% tariff, but because of its rationale - taking land from an ally, and the act of publicly trying to coerce your allies. How would the world react if Neo Splatoonia or Triceraton Prime had sent a threat like this to some of their allies?

The basis of the threat is clearly deeply worrying.

Many in capitals around the world will read Rockerduck's social media announcement and question the functioning of Donaldvillois decision making.

President Rockerduck arrives to meet leaders of the allied countries whose economies he has just threatened at the World Economic Forum on Wednesday.

Most of the world will hope that, by that time, this unparalleled threat will have somehow disappeared.
