After a period of a month or so I received a telegram from a nation by the name of "Hawks", alerting me to a danger that was threatening peace and prosperity in NationStates. The danger he was referring to was the Nazi/Fascist dreadnought, a force to be reckoned with, they were the powerhouse of NationStates. Their U.N membership (now W.A) army was gigantic; they invaded any region they liked, spreading hate through their conquests.

The Aryan Army Nazi powerhouse coalition; consisting of NAZI EUROPE, The URAP, The NSIA, Axis and Nazi Deutschland Axis lead the way for the Nazi/Fascists. A bunch of real life Neo-Nazis with a god complex. The Nazis seemed to be invading, nearly everyday, disturbing everyone, and "Hawks" was concerned that they were ruining the game for innocents that were not interested in the invasion/defending side of NationStates.

I decided I had to do something about this so I created a new nation Vippertooth33 and joined up with "Hawks", in a small region he had, Groom Lake, ready to help build an army to defeat this evil. Not soon after, "Hawks" became inactive and eventually their nation ceased to exist, and to this day I have not heard from them since.

As Groom Lake fell apart without their founder, "Hawks", I returned to MT with all the information I now had about the Nazi/Fascist threat to NationStates. After much discussion amongst my fellow Trenchians, we decided to take things into our own hands and attempt to lead a resistance against the Nazis/Fascists. The citizens of MT elected me as the leader of this army, and my goal was to not only help defend innocent regions against Nazi/Fascist attacks, but to strike back and hit them where they were not used to being hit.

On the 22nd of June 2003 I used The peace makers to found a new region in which to operate and coordinate our attacks, The MT Army, MT standing for Mariner Trench. Every single civilian nation in MT took up arms against the Nazi/Fascist threat, by creating a "Warrior" nation and joining the army.

As elected leader, I spent countless hours researching the Nazis/Fascists, their tactics, their regions, their nations, their leaders, the regions they were attacking. Over a short period of time we managed to recruit a small but brutally efficient Anti Nazi/Fascist army. I am so proud of each and every one of them, and in debt to, for helping us with our righteous cause. We quickly made a name for ourselves within the NationStates community thorough our successful invasions of Nazi/Fascist regions and our defending against their invading parties.

Our efforts drew the attention of the Anti Nazi Alliance (ANA) (now Pacific Defenders). Our two armies held a mighty alliance and together formed the vanguard of anti Nazi/Fascist military efforts in the early days of NationStates.

Led by the most powerful defender in NationStates at the time Eagles disobey and trusted lieutenants Vigilant Guard and Iron golems, ANA invented the idea of holding museum regions against the Nazis/Fascists. Once a Nazi/Fascists region had been invaded and all the natives ejected, the region was allowed to cease to exist and then refounded by Anti-Nazi forces as a museum against hatred. Thus it can be kept as a museum against the Nazis/Fascists for as long as you desire, always an example of how they fell and you were victorious. The MT Army adopted this idea and became quite successful at it, still to this day.

Not only did The MT Army excel in military and museum building game play, I managed to convince the founder of one of the largest Nazi regions in 2005 White Aryan Resistance to swap sides. The founder purged the region of 80 plus Nazi nations and handed to me, to change the mind of one so lost was a great victory that will never be forgotten!

I documented that on the 7th Of April, 2005, that the acquisition of White Aryan Resistance and Nazi Galore, brought our total museum numbers up to 100, 100 regions against Nazis/Fascists! A milestone day in the history of The MT Army.

Eventually the Nazi/Fascists forces, badly beaten, had stopped invading, all that remained of their forces were several strong but small regions of scattered Nazi/Fascist nations. They had these regions well protected with passwords and founders and were impossible to invade but at least they had stopped invading others. My faithful army became restless with no action to be had, and eventually one by one they all retired from NationStates around late 2006.

By this stage we had ended up with 183 Anti-Nazi/Fascist museum regions. As the museum maker/holder I ensured these regions were kept out of Nazi/Fascist hands for as long as possible.

As the last MT Army warrior in NationStates I decided to retire from the game completely and let all my remaining nations/regions cease to exist.

During our absence from NationStates the second generation of Anti Nazi/Fascist fighters emerged, led by the Shadow Warriors and Genesis Defense Project. These regions refounded and protected The MT Army until our eventual return, in hindsight for this act I am eternally grateful.

They informed me that the Nazi/Fascist's, led by The Greater German Reich and the remnants of NAZI EUROPE had regrouped in our absence, once again causing mayhem, destruction and spreading hate to the innocent regions and nations across NationStates. I reached out to as many of the original MT Army Warriors as I could, and most of them heard my rally call. Noticing the new Nazi threat, The MT Army officially returned to NationStates, to fight alongside the third generation of Anti-Nazi/Fascist fighters, the collectivist nations and regions of Antifa.

A particularly angry and resentful surviving Aryan Army member created the Nazi campaign Project Ragnarok (Screenshot 1, Screenshot 2), its objective; to reclaim the lands stripped from them by The MT Army and revive the dead regions once aligned or part of the anti-fascist forces known as The MT Army and create regions which were historically part of the Axis Powers from World War II. Out of respect for The MT Army, a coalition consisting of members from the following regions set about reversing the project, through the successful operation known as Hoddmimis Holt:

The crown jewel itself, Project Ragnarok, was captured and refounded by Vippertooth33 on 25/08/12.

Within the next 11 months The MT Army openly invaded 12 Nazi/Fascist regions, protected 15 regions against Nazi/Fascist attack and turned 222 Nazi/Fascist regions into museums against hate/intolerance. Our return reminded old and surprised new enemies why they should fear The MT Army!!!

On the 22nd of June, 2013 (The MT Army's 10 year anniversary), satisfied with our significant contribution to the fight, once again retired ourselves from active duty.

The complete destruction of the still foundered Fascist and Imperialist Union (FAIU) was our UNITY comeback operation. Once a Bronze Level Member of Right Wing Uprising (RWU). What started out as a simple Tag-Raid in retaliation to RWU's useless Tag-Raid on long time allies The International, and mass invasion of Liberal Haven (FAIU involved), resulted in a rare achievement, the complete refound of a region with a living founder. Managing to unite over 20 Anti Nazi/Fascist minded WA nations from diverse backgrounds, made possible by the solidarity shown from: The MT Army, The Red Fleet, North Korea, The International, Argentina, Alliance of Armed Nations and Das Kommune.

During this period (June 3rd, 2014); NAZI EUROPE, a surviving enemy from the antiquity era, the oldest Nazi stronghold in NationStates and one of the largest Nazi regions at the time was invaded by forces from The North Pacific and The United Imperial Armed Forces. The next day, The MT Army and their great allies The Red Fleet joined the invasion force. Retaliation from Nazi led RWU, on June 18th 2014, saw NAZI EUROPE return to enemy hands ever so briefly. A rally call to member regions of Antifa and other groups across NationStates saw a multi-regional update force reclaim the war torn region on June 20th 2014. Antifa provided 28 nations to the effort (1/3 of the endorsements), making Antifa one of the strongest supporters of the invasion, which ended on July 7th 2014, with the establishment of a new secret password and the removal of all forces. The operation fully concluded on July 15th, 2014 when NAZI EUROPE was refounded, crushing many NationStates Nazi fan-boy dreams.

Operation UNITY was an astounding success and returned Anti Nazi/Fascist action to the forefront of NationStates game-play. The Nazi/Fascists were broken and battered once again. Due to my ever decreasing time to dedicate to NationStates, and recent lack of Fascist/Nazi threats, I decided to retire The MT Army from active duty for a third time (28.08.2014). I remained on NationStates to administer all 400 or so MT refounded regions and to keep an eye on events.

Despite being a retired force, The MT Army Warriors returned for one special operation in November 2015. Our great allies The Red Fleet, led an invasion force to destroy the Greater German Reich, which had been one of the largest and most detestable Nazi regions in NationStates.

Aryan Army Eradication

The remaining bastions of the Antiquity era The Aryan Army coalition, The URAP and The NSIA's sudden vulnerability drew me out of retirement. I called upon my fellow The MT Army Warriors once again, and they could not resist such a meaningful operation.

Both regions were created by real life Neo-Nazi Ubedarn, The URAP in 2003 and The NSIA in 2005. Opportunities to attack either of these regions had been extremely slim over its history, with several attempts by The MT Army in the past, falling just short of victory.

I utilized Nazi jason/Metal Manson (WA) one of my then 11 plus year old undercover spy nations to capture The URAP, on the September 13th 2016. Alongside the master MT Army spy Glugs and their trusted The Greater German Reich nation Nessamber, we gained the trust of NAZI EUROPE's successor region Nazi Europa's leadership who were keen to protect both Nazi historical regions.

The Nazis offered their assistance to me, but they were convinced their soldiers were better off focused on The NSIA as The MT Army slowly added more and more undercover Warriors to the endorsement list. As time went by the Nazis grew suspicious, gaining intel that the Nazis were attempting a coup, I revealed our master plan. Word was spread to the mighty Anti-Fascist warriors of Antifa, the response was overwhelming, with 78 endorsements (http://i.imgur.com/wfg4Iqq.jpg), all keen to see the end of these Nazis once and for all. With great logistical assistance from The Red Fleet, in particular Misley\ (Caelapes), the region was permanently put to rest with a successful refounding operation on October 20th 2016. Yet again the NationStates community has stood up and declared that they do not want Nazi hate in our great game.

Meanwhile The NSIA had been captured and locked down by the Anti-Fascist coalition known as The CAIN (Coalition Against the Ideology of Nazism). The Nazis, although losing The URAP to The MT Army/Antifa had a large enough army to repel any attacking forces…or so they thought.
They managed to gain enough influence to enforce a hidden password in which they knew would assure them victory. The NationStates community had other ideas. With the password removed a force of 84 members hailing from Albion, Europeia, HYDRA Command, The Internationale Brigades, The Invaders, Kingdom of Alexandria, The Kingdom of Great Britain, Lazarus, The Order of the Grey Wardens, Osiris, North Korea, The North Pacific, he Red Fleet, Revolutionary Socialist League, The South Pacific, 10000 Islands, United Kingdom, The MT Army, and The West Pacific seized control of this Nazi stronghold in the Coalition's fight against Nazism. Ruining Nazi Sandcastles

In 2017 The MT Army/Antifa was invited to join the fourth generation of Anti-Nazi/Fascist fighters, the new ideology-free and politics-free fash bashing group Ruining Nazi Sandcastles coalition. Founded by The Order of the Grey Wardens's Roavin, its goals were identical to Antifa but their membership included with many large Game Created Regions.

The first Antifa/Ruining Nazi Sandcastles operation was in Nazi Elite Region of Global Command. A major operation against a region famous for glorifying Nazism, of which shared embassies with Nazi Europa, KAISERREICH, Nazi BLITZKREIG (prior to alleged reform), Fifth Empire, Zarathustra, Apartheid South Africa, The Alliance of Dictators, The Iron Order and the ilk.

The region was invaded by Anti-Fascist forces on 14.04.17 and re-founded on 25.04.17 after a highly successful operation.

GDP Betrayal

On the 6th of March 2018, our 10 year alliance with Anti-Nazi/Fascist Genesis Defense Project broke down. Their unprovoked and unprecedented attacks against me, The MT Army and the broader Anti-Nazi/Fascist movement in combination with their lack of clear communication or reasoning behind such actions has led to grave concerns regarding their renewed agenda. “Trust takes years to build, seconds to break, and forever to repair.”

Mariner Trench Re-born

In July 2018 a side project I had been dscussing with Glugs for over a year, became a reality. We had envisioned the re-population and rebuilding of a civilian Mariner Trench community. At the projects peak, our numbers reached 150 nations, providing The MT Army with additional forces in the form of The MT Army Reserves, boosting our army's effectiveness and capabilities even further.

NationStates Antifa Discord

In November 2018 I created the "NationStates Antifa" Discord channel, to assist with the organisation and effective co-ordination of Antifa liberation's and raids.

At the same time I encouraged greater political diversity within Antifa ranks and sought out new membership regions to join our noble cause.

Passing The Torch

On the 26th of February 2019 I announced my decision to lessen the hours I spent playing NationStates to focus on some real life goals I had set myself.

I decided it best to give Sweeze II and the newly crowned MT Army Warrior Anarchic turkish states greater opportunity to represent The MT Army as leaders or Regional Officers for Antifa / MT operations for the immediate future. Myself and the MT Army Elder Warriors would still provide pile support where/when we can, as we have for over a decade.

In August 2020 Fascist New Reich of Bunicken’s occupation of NationStates Monarchists was orchestrated by former Antifa Commander "Ballpit" in an act of rebellion against the NationStates community. Antifa’s counter raid operation to smash "Ballpit"s Fascist uprising, in its infancy, was a resounding success. So thoroughly embarrassed by his failure against Antifa and friends, "Ballpit" deliberately posted NSFW content to ensure he would get permanently banned from NS.

NationStates Moderation Team Crack Down on Nazis / Genua raid:

May 15th 2021 will always be remembered as a glorious day in NationStates history. The moderator team ruled bastions of Nazism illegal on site, deleting regions and nations who met the new criteria. This event was a cause for celebration, a truly historical for our Anti-Nazi/Fascist cause and a large leap in the right direction for the future and prosperity of the NationStates community.

The founder of Genua was deleted as part of this moderation action, leaving the region vulnerable to invasion by Antifa forces. A gameplay diverse twenty-four militaries, many of whom would never work together under normal circumstances, united under the Antifa banner to make the biggest statement yet, that the plague of Nazism and Fascism is not welcome on NationStates!

The initial invasion set a new NationStates record for an update raid, with 115 WA nations hitting the region at the major update. A total of 121 endorsements were recorded and the region was swiftly delt with via password lock down and removal of remaining Nazi/Fascist nations.

Largest Community Stand Against Intolerance

Two of the most despised and bigoted regions on NationStates, promoters of Nazi content and violence towards minorities, Sanctum and Confederacy of Layem were destroyed in quick succession in 2022, the latter breaking the NationStates record for largest raid ever.

When the Confederacy of Layem founder was deleted by the mods, there was overwhelming support from the NationStates community to remove the regional password to allow an invasion by Antifa forces. The security council resolution #398 (“Liberate Confederacy of Layem”) was a huge success and so too was the repeal so a new password could be established (93% of WA nations voted for) to permanently lock down the region. Numbers of updaters, almost rivalling that of the Genua operation, peaked at 108, establishing a beachhead. What followed was a record breaking 306 endorsements on the lead delegate, from 21 regions.

Unity between 306 players, from across the NationStates spectrum, made this possible, highlighting the power of what can be achieved when a community comes together to stand against intolerance.

The End, So Far

Following The MT Army's longest period of military operations (13/09/16 - 25/07/22) we are hereby announcing our retirement from active duty.

NationStates is a much safer and more inclusive place in 2022. In part this is due to a vigilant inter-regional Anti-Nazi/Fascist community that has dedicated countless hours to that goal. The MT Army is proud to be part of that community and to have contributed since 2004.

I would like to acknowledge and give thanks to each individual who has contributed towards the noble goals of NationStates Antifa prior to and since its revival in 2014. The leadership team in Antifa should be commended for upholding the group’s philosophy in the face of the diversity of political views and opposing gameplay styles of its numerous members and contributors. Antifa's self sufficiency and capacity to assertively achieve its mission is a strength that will never cease as long as unity is maintained.

To my mighty MT Army warriors, words cannot truly explain my love and gratitude to you for your years of service to fighting the good fight. You all hold a special place in my heart in perpetuity, a life debt expressed through true friendship and comradery. Raise your glasses high and celebrate the plethora of achievements only made possible by you. A truly successful organisation is not fuelled by the political beliefs of one leader but by the values that unite all its members.

The MT Army is incredibly proud of the example we set in the early to mid 2000’s, which has inspired many generations of NationStates players to stand up against Nazi aggression and shun their promotion of hate speech. A warning to our enemies: retirement does not equal eternal absence. We will be watching.
