I lean towards Palestine, but not the ideology of Zionism. Although it is depicted as an system for all Jews, some of them are not religious. There are Jews that recognize this since of their inclining of secularzation. If an Independent Palestinian state exists where Jews are present, they must be safeguarded against persecution and should not tolerate discrimination. |

I don't see the country as secularizing, but increasingly the opposite, especially when looking for a historical perspective where labor-zionism basically on a political level lost most of it's influence. Remember also that the first patron state of Israel was the USSR not the US. Also one can look at the current composition of parties of the government of Israel, with parties such as National Religious Party–Religious Zionism, United Torah Judaism and Otzma Yehudit. I fully agree with the fact that the Jewish people no matter the out come should be safegaurded and protect and should be of upmost priority. Same goes for the Palestinian. I see two ways to peace, the good old two state solution, with land swaps, peace keepers, buffer zones and other treaties and agreements where needed. But maybe because the West-Bank is so integrated with Israel, some sort of Bosnia style bi-national state with some aspects of Lebanon/ Cyprus where you have certain groups in certain positions could be possible. Though I recognize that outcome might not be as stable |
