The Interstellar Federation of Technogium is a mammoth, efficient nation, ruled by the Synedrium with an iron fist, and remarkable for its ubiquitous missile silos, irreverence towards religion, and punitive income tax rates. The compassionate, cynical, cheerful population of 6.667 billion Technogians are ruled with an iron fist by the dictatorship government, which ensures that no-one outside the party gets too rich. In their personal lives, however, citizens are relatively unoppressed; it remains to be seen whether this is because the government genuinely cares about its people, or if it hasn't gotten around to stamping out civil rights yet.
The medium-sized government juggles the competing demands of Education, Defense, and Administration. It meets to discuss matters of state in the capital city of Nova Astrea. The average income tax rate is 90.4%, and even higher for the wealthy.
The frighteningly efficient Technogian economy, worth a remarkable 1,200 trillion DELTA tritons a year, is driven entirely by a combination of government and state-owned industry, with private enterprise illegal. The industrial sector, which is fairly diversified, is led by the Information Technology industry, with significant contributions from Tourism, Arms Manufacturing, and Beef-Based Agriculture. Average income is an impressive 180,124 DELTA tritons, and distributed extremely evenly, with little difference between the richest and poorest citizens.
Many marriages go virtually unconsummated, citizens have never heard foreign radio, internet moderator is one of the most popular jobs among the nation's more socially awkward citizens, and the state auctions off combat drones to fund war reparations. Crime, especially youth-related, is totally unknown, thanks to a capable police force and progressive social policies in education and welfare. Technogium's national animal is the Horse, which frolics freely in the nation's many lush forests.
Technogium is ranked 106,157th in the world and 219th in Starlight for Largest Insurance Industry, scoring 1,901.46 on the Risk Expulsion Effectiveness Rating.
