May your face thus be our vision, bright in glory,
Christ our God, with all the blessed Saints in heaven:

Gospel Snippet: John 19:28-30

After this, aware that everything was now finished, in order that the Scripture might be fulfilled, Jesus said, “I thirst.” There was a vessel filled with common wine. So they put a sponge soaked in wine on a sprig of hyssop and put it up to his mouth. When Jesus had taken the wine, he said, “It is finished.” And bowing his head, he handed over the spirit.

on which hung the salvation of the world.
Come, let us adore.

Let us pray.
We adore your Cross, O Lord,
we praise and glorify your holy Resurrection,
for behold, because of the wood of the tree
joy has come to the whole world.

May God have mercy on us and bless us;
may he let his face shed its light upon us
and have mercy on us. Amen.
