I didn’t vote for Thatcher, neither did Scotland as a whole, nor Wales, nor any of my friends in England, but much of England thought she was the required medicine and she won three consecutive elections. Her voters then and their descendants now see her as the blueprint for all that is right and good.

Those in Philosophers from the USA may not feel personally responsible for Trump, but there he is, duly elected. What is it, the electoral system, an inability to agree on a strong opposing candidate or simply the deserved revenge of red hatted citizens full of grievance?

Thatcher’s Conservatives never won more than 43.9% of the vote (1979). Trump this last time had 49.8% and 35% of those eligible to vote didn’t do so. Voting is more than a right, it’s a responsibility.
