One of the best ways to get involved in region, and get known is using the RMB, discussing *stuff* and adding to the conversation. We do run regularly stuff, participate in NS wide events, etc and try and be quite involved.

At this time, for instance, time dependent, I'm looking at trying to get something started with NS University which is a regional university, to develop a basic course. However, my time is incredibly stretched right now. If anyone would like to work in this to help, give me a shout, please. Basic philosophy type course which uses dispatches and etc. The University of NationStates

Between personal life, work and health, I'm pretty much stretched thin right now, as well as future planning goals. Hence my inactivity more so on here.

I might have mentioned this before, but if any of you are science dorks or, more specifically meteorology dorks, this is a whole new field of weather. Space weather!

This once was a fringe science that was ignored by a majority of scientists, but this scientist, their team, and a few other international collaborating teams have focused on this field for years and are now being recognized.

Some of you might have been wondering why you were getting such beautiful skies last night. Around two days ago, they witnessed extreme activity on the surface of the Sun facing us. Since then, they have witnessed three, then four, now six coronal explosions and, therefore, impacts headed towards Earth. This is somewhat common minus the fact that these were large, all sequential, and packed into a tight time frame.

The predictions of effects vary on who you ask, but the magnetic field if the Earth is weakened with the pole shift, so I would say more eventful rather than less. This would start with auroras and slow internet leading to the worst case scenario-- global EMP.

The cameras that they have have many lenses to look at our beautiful star, so the pictures are some thing of dreams. I would suggest watching the videos instead of staring at the Sun........ the results might come out differently.

(Edit: The 7th and largest solar flare has happened. This will be the biggest event in about 20 years. The pictures and videos regular people are already making of the sky are beautiful!)
