This is just cruel and completely uncalled for... I understand that IDU is an open region, but I do believe we should share some common principles that are upheld by all nations. Especially the fundamental values that define us as a democratic community.

Honestly, I don't find that funny. Joking about something like killing elderly people is pretty low, especially when someone is offering to welcome people's grandparents. I'm all for joking around and having fun with RP, but there are some lines I think shouldn't be crossed.

I agree with Eldid on this one. I'm all for dark humor and creative RP, but that particular joke crossed a line for me.

Geronticide is definitely a great way to incur the ire of pretty much the entire international community. If this is a genuinely instated policy, it is safe to say that Nicolaides should expect severe and immediate geopolitical backlash. If the policy is being instated primarily for OOC shock value, the user should be warned that we try to keep our RP engaging, but emphasize realism and quality.

Here in the IDU, we love our grandparents.

New LIDUN Secretary-General appointed: The current Secretary of Justice for Huenya, Xochica, has been chosen as the new Secretary-General of LIDUN.

The incoming Secretary-General said that “reining in rogue states and bad international actors” would be his top priority, followed by “encouraging greater diplomatic, economic and social interaction and integration between nations.”

Kerlile refuses to confirm or deny if Acadian PM is an Aurora

The Matriarchy of Kerlile has refused to confirm or deny any affiliation with the Prime Minister of Greater acadia, Christine Belle, who was arrested on Friday morning on suspicion of being a member of the “Aurora Programme”, a Kerlian sleeper-agent programme whose existence was revealed in the aftermath of the Second Lauchenoirian Civil War in 2018. The Council of Kerlile released a statement reiterating that the Aurora Programme has been discontinued since 2020, and that any former members of the programme are private individuals who are not employed by the Kerlian government in relation to the programme.

Zongongian Royal Family flees to Serriel in aftermath of referendum

The Royal Family of Zongongia has fled to the Kingdom of Serriel following a 62-38 vote in favour of the abolition of the monarchy on Thursday. Shortly after the announcement of the result in the early hours of Friday morning, helicopters were spotted above the royal residence, leading to speculation about the potential response of the royals. It is now confirmed that these helicopters made their way to a private airfield, where members of the royal family boarded a private jet and headed to Serriel. No attempt was made to prevent the departure.
