The compassionate, devout population of 1.676 billion Erzonians are fiercely patriotic and enjoy great social equality; they tend to view other, more capitalist countries as somewhat immoral and corrupt.

The medium-sized, socially-minded government is primarily concerned with Administration, although Law & Order, Defense, and Education are also considered important, while Spirituality receives no funds. The average income tax rate is 44.8%, but much higher for the wealthy.

The sizeable but stagnant Erzonian economy, worth 39.5 trillion sterlings a year, is driven entirely by a combination of government and state-owned industry, with private enterprise illegal. The industrial sector, which is broadly diversified, is led by the Information Technology industry, with major contributions from Tourism, Beef-Based Agriculture, and Woodchip Exports. Average income is 23,566 sterlings, and distributed extremely evenly, with practically no difference between the richest and poorest citizens.

Racial and religious segregation has become rife as the various groups are loath to mingle, an endless multinational bureaucracy connects the Red Bloc, the early morning commute lasts into the afternoon, and women are kept out of work but at least dinner is served on time. Crime, especially youth-related, is totally unknown, thanks to a capable police force and progressive social policies in education and welfare. ErZone's national animal is the deer, which frolics freely in the nation's many lush forests, and its national religion is Zonerism.
