Iescech wrote:I hope you get to go on your beach trip! My friends are all the stay-at-home kind of people, while I'm the let's-go-do-something person, so getting to the beach is going to be hard.

I don't know your specific circumstances, but might I recommend a solo trip to the beach? It's something I have enjoyed in the past. Certainly, it's missing companionship and all of the traditional group activities which that brings. But it can be nice in other ways. There's something to walking along a bustling boardwalk, or tracing the waterline of the sea, that can be quite pleasant on one's lonesome. There's people watching and the appreciation of nature and just a general contemplative quality to it all. Also, and I suppose this may be primarily for US beaches, but a solo drive along the coast in the summertime is great, stopping wherever you like, in whatever nice little seaside town that happens to strike your fancy. And bring a book!

The weather's supposed to be nicer next week, so that might be a perfect opportunity. And good timing too, I just got a new Haruki Murakami book.

Dog is an easy language to speak. Every word translates into "Hey, you! Notice me!"
