Man, I miss the days when the Oatland Games took place.

Hello, Oatland! Artimasia is back from the ashes!

Good [insert time of day here], Oatlanders!

I have finally gotten some not busy time (don't worry, more busy time is coming), and figured it would be a decent idea to reach out to any active members here and ask what we wanted to do now that I have been granted some powers to help facilitate "the changing of the old guard".

I think the most obvious thing we should do is try to elect a new Augustus since Hospe has CTE'd and been inactive for a while. This would get us on track to be a healthier region overall. Are there any suggestions for how we should go about this? I read the constitution, and it does not seem to have much of a guide on how this should be done (especially since our founder Lennia has also CTE'd).

We should also all get behind The Peoples Place of Living as the WA delegate and endorse them so that we are more secure against any attacks that try to take power while we are figuring this out. You can endorse them by going to their nation page and hitting the "endorse as WA delegate" button at the bottom. We should not have to worry about this much because of certain changes to how regions work, but it is still important, and a nice safety feature.

I think those two are our biggest priorities, but does anyone else have any ideas for what we can do to revitalize this region?

I may also update the world factbook at the top of the region page unless anyone thinks that is a bad idea. I would just update things like the song of the month or just make it look a little nicer.

Hey, I rejoined the WA and endorsed our delegate The Peoples Place of Living. For the sake of our dear region's safety, I encourage that all Oatlanders who are WA members do the same, and that those who aren't members consider joining in order to endorse them.

I also endorsed those who I saw were already endorsing our delegate, because it's sad to be in the WA with zero endorsements.

Now, concerning our region's lack of an Augustus/Governor. For a start, I agree with Broken Edge that remedying this should be a priority.

However, I do recall from my early days in NS, before joining Oatland, that this is not an easy process. I just did some research in the forums and found this comprehensive and very useful guide on the functioning of regions. Of special interest to us are subsections IV-F and IV-G right here.

In the face of the challenges posed by our present situation, it seems to me that the easiest solution would be to revive Hospe, if only for enough time to pass over the leadership to someone else (and never again neglecting to name a successor to the government).

So: is someone here able to get in touch with Hospe? Maybe he's still on the Discord server? (by the way, is that server active? I'm not even on it)

The server exists. It's not active, but it exists. I'm sure with some insistent pinging or DMing we could get in touch with Hospe if needed.

As a train pulls into the Oatland train station, an announcement is made on the train station's PA system.

"Attention Oatland Station passengers. Now arriving on Track 1, is The Featured Map Express to [Insert next Featured Region with the next Featured Map of the Day.] Please stand back from the yellow line and please watch the gap while boarding the train."

When entering the station, the train sounds its modified horn, which sounds like someone is saying: "Congratulations on having the Featured Map of the Day Oatland!"

Also while entering the station, FMP Train Conductor Nikolai, with a bright smile on his face, sticks his head out of the train's locomotive window, waves, and yells: "Congratulations on having the Featured Map of the Day Oatland!"

The train stops at the platform for 2 minutes, and opens its doors, picking up/dropping off passengers.

The train then closes it's doors and departs, heading to the next Region that has the next Featured Map of the Day.
