Do we need the Discord? Is anyone using it? Is the person still here who started it?

The Forum it's mostly unused should we just keep it for historical value?

The regional flag, our last flag maker has ceased to exist for nearly 56 days, does this call for a new flag or keep the old one (I prefer our officers to be alive)

These may go to a poll if we can't decide here.

(1) The Discord server has been quiet. I think A Winter Wonderland was the creator, but I see that they recently ceased to exist.

(2) If the forum has nothing that is particularly historically important, then I don't see why we need to keep it. Anything could be transferred to the Arctic wiki page anyway (which probably needs an update). And I don't think it will be useful in the near future, given the size and activity level of this region at the moment.

(3) I am indifferent to the flag issue. If there is enough interest in a new competition then why not.

I have been looking at the wiki, I don't know if it's working when I try to log in it says no nation of that name on Nationstates

The forecast for Arctic in the coming week

The average daytime maximum temperature will be around -11°C, with a high for the week of -7°C expected on the afternoon of Friday 29th. The mean minimum temperature will be -21°C, dipping to its lowest on the evening of Monday 25th at -26°C. The week will have mostly dry days although Wednesday is likely to see a little snow. It looks like Wednesday will have the most precipitation with an accumulation of around 1.0mm. On the whole winds are likely to be moderate.

It's certainly a sobering thought thinking that we have been here that long, my friends son was always fascinated by the fact that I had a cat that was older than him.

This whole aging thing is getting old, I have since postponed my birthday indefinitely in hopes it doesn't continue.

The mean minimum temperature will be -13°C, dipping to its lowest on the morning of Sunday 8th at -16°C. Expect the coming week to have mixed overhead conditions with some days dry and some seeing a significant amount of snow. Predictions are Sunday 8th will have the most precipitation with an accumulation of around 7.0mm. On the whole winds are likely to be moderate. The forecast suggests the strongest wind will be on Sunday morning, coming from a northerly direction, and reaching around 26mph. However, the maximum wind gusts are forecast for Monday morning.

Climate change: Lapland reindeer gone astray in search for food

Herders in Lapland are struggling to locate thousands of reindeer that have run away after warm weather left the food they graze on covered by a layer of ice.

Some reindeer have travelled as far as 100km to the south, in search of ice-free lichen they can access under the snow.

Herders are having to track them through the forests of northern Finland and Sweden, some even using helicopters.

Scientists say the Arctic is warming twice as fast as the rest of the world as a result of climate change - though new research suggests that could be an underestimate.

The layer of ice is said to form when an early snowfall melts, or is followed by rain, creating wet snow, which then freezes to a hard layer of ice when temperatures drop.

"Reindeer cannot dig the ice as it is hard and so they move away in search of ground where there is just snow that they can remove easily and eat up the lichen below," a senior scientist with Finland's Natural Resources Institute says.

I got cards from the usual family and a neighbour, one from a social media friend who has some kind of app set up and a message from beyond the grave from a games/social media friend who I got to know because she happened to have the same surname as me, I must have commented on her memorial web page and got a ping a bit bizarre.
