One way is to create a time machine (or even better a complex of time machines!) to muddy the waters of time enough to where all time eventually seems to be the same time.

Joy crossed her arms and frowned slightly, but managed to keep her composure. She stopped tapping her legs. Her annoyance was clear, and she did not like being read like an open book by either woman.

Hallow: “I will agree with everything you said. You are the First Nation that Farrine has encountered, and that will never be forgotten. We shall stand beside you through thick and thin. I look forward to continuing a relationship. I am sure the other three Rulers will agree to your requests as well.”

Hallow hummed to himself for a moment, struggling to conjure a word.

Hallow: “As for the…embassy…”

It was very strange, as while just about everything Hallow said was in Farrish, the word embassy was in Liora’s native tongue.

Hallow: “You have officially added a new word to the Farrish dictionary. Embassy. Beautiful word. I shall select some people to run the embassy. There will also be a head of the embassy, someone I trust dearly to help with our affairs. I already have a few ideas as to who that may be. Next time a Farrish ship arrives, those people and any supplies to help construction will be here. It may be a while before I come back myself, or before any of the others leaders come, as we are all busy with our own affairs.”

Hallow thought for a moment about his family, and what they’d think of all this.

Hallow: “But certainly I’ll be back someday, perhaps with one or more of my children. You and your people are also welcome in Farrine anytime. We may believe in a strong sense and reliance in yourself, but we are good, charitable hosts.”

Hallow winked at Joy, who was listening but didn’t seem entirely present.

Hallow: “I think it is time for a farewell. Thank you Queen Liora, for being a welcoming host. And thank you, Princess Yora, for being ever so helpful. This really has been a pleasant interaction, and I don’t know if it could have gone much better. We will leave you some enchanted paper. This is paper that can fly on its own, once you tell it who you wish to send it to. Very useful for letter writing. I’m not sure if letters will deliver all the way to us…Adeline had to deliver a letter by bird, and only then was she successful. But if we both find some way to protect the letters as we cross the sea, this would be a very efficient way of communication.”

Joy snorted, and Hallow glared at her before relaxing his face. For a second Joy looked fearful before smiling again.

Joy: “Oh, this reminds me. Adeline was wondering if she could…”

Joy cracked up in laughter and had to grab the edge of a table to compose herself.

Joy: “She wants one of your birds! Yes, she made a friend and was wondering if she could take an Elanthril bird home. Not even sure why she thinks she needs permission for that, considering she already sent a letter to Farrine a few weeks ago with one of your birds. She didn’t ask about that.”

I allowed myself a quiet laugh at Joy's explanation, shaking my head ever so slightly as well. “I suppose that the bird is fine,” I said, glancing toward her. “If Adeline has already managed to send one of our birds to Farrine without asking permission, then it would be rather difficult to object now, would it not? Besides the animals are as free as the spirits are.” My gaze moved back toward Hallow, the a bigger smile forming once more, “As for embassy... I am rather amused that our language has already contributed a new word to the Farrish dictionary. I suspect that will not be the last thing Farrine takes home with it, and with that I wish you all a safe passage home as well..” I looked down at the map one final time, admiring my work from earlier. It was strange, in a way, to think that these lines had now become more than ink on parchment. I know not what the future holds for Farrine, but I hope they serve their people well upon their return. Their company within Elarithil had certainly been most eventful.

Liora stepped forward, and as she did, several spirits within the room turned their immediate attention towards her. I recognized the signal to yield the floor and did so accordingly. My sister always had to put on a show in times like this. Her emerald eyes moved between them with that serene, almost otherworldly warmth that had always made her seem less like someone who merely ruled Elarithil and more like someone who had been placed at its heart by something older than any crown. “Then go, new found friends of Elarithil, go back across the waters that carried you here - hopefully a bit safer of a journey this time; and tell your people what you found beyond the horizon. The world is full of many nations, some friendly and some less so, Elarithil will continue being what we are and supporting those we care about. My model of governance and friendship is not complicated. I wish you all well. Farrine crossed the sea to us, perhaps in the future we shall cross it to you, and may the sea carry you safely home. Liora turned toward the great windows of the hall, practically on cue, towards the distant sea beyond Silvarin and the might ocean beyond it. For mere moments her expression became almost impossibly serene, yep this was my sister alright. “After all, you have now learned something most important about Elarithil and an undisputed fact of the world more generally.” Her emerald eyes returned to them. “We are not merely a kingdom at the edge of any horizon,” and with that the trademark smile had appeared once more, “but the center of the world.”
