The Federation of Korelevia is a mid-sized, safe nation, renowned for its frequent executions, compulsory military service, and stringent health and safety legislation. The compassionate, democratic population of 84 million Korelevians are fiercely patriotic and enjoy great social equality; they tend to view other, more capitalist countries as somewhat immoral and corrupt.

The large government juggles the competing demands of Defense, Law & Order, and Administration. The average income tax rate is 48.9%, but much higher for the wealthy.

The sizeable but underdeveloped Korelevian economy, worth 3.16 trillion Pets a year, is dominated by the Arms Manufacturing industry, with significant contributions from Woodchip Exports, Beef-Based Agriculture, and Door-to-door Insurance Sales. State-owned companies are common. Average income is 37,639 Pets, and distributed extremely evenly, with little difference between the richest and poorest citizens.

Murder victims' families receive windfall payouts when the murderers are executed, you can call your arthritic immigrant neighbour for all your roof-tiling and guttering needs, government crews work tirelessly to retake the suburbs from organized packs of raccoons, and a stitch in time could see you serving nine. Crime, especially youth-related, is totally unknown, thanks to a well-funded police force and progressive social policies in education and welfare. Korelevia's national animal is the Bear, which frolics freely in the nation's many lush forests.

Korelevia is ranked 115,464^th in the world and 162^nd in Starlight for Most Advanced Law Enforcement, scoring 2,176.68 on the Orwell Orderliness Index.
