Politics

The Nix Alba is a unitary state under a constitutional monarchy. King Andro Soldati is the monarch and head of state of the Nix Alba. The monarch has "the right to be consulted, the right to encourage, and the right to warn". The Constitution of the Nix Alba is uncodified and consists mostly of a collection of disparate written sources, including statutes, judge-made case law and international treaties, together with constitutional conventions. As there is no technical difference between ordinary statutes and "constitutional law", the Alban Parliament can perform "constitutional reform" simply by passing Acts of Parliament, and thus has the political power to change or abolish almost any written or unwritten element of the constitution. No Parliament can pass laws that future Parliaments cannot change.

Government

The Nix Alba has a parliamentary government based on the Westminster system. The parliament of the Nix Alba meets in the Palace of Nieve Blanca and has two houses: an elected House of Peoples and an appointed House of Dukes. All bills passed are given Royal Assent before becoming law.

The position of prime minister, the Nix Alban's head of government, belongs to the person most likely to command the confidence of the House of Peoples; this individual is typically the leader of the political party or coalition of parties that holds the largest number of seats in that chamber. The prime minister chooses a cabinet and its members are formally appointed by the monarch to form His Majesty's Government. By convention, the monarch respects the prime minister's decisions of government.

The cabinet is traditionally drawn from members of the prime minister's party or coalition and mostly from the House of Peoples but always from both legislative houses, the cabinet being responsible to both. Executive power is exercised by the prime minister and cabinet, all of whom are sworn into the Privy Council of the Nix Alban, and become Ministers of the Crown.

Nix Alban Political System

Law and Criminal Justice

Today the Nix Alba has a distinct system of law. A new Supreme Court of the Nix Alba came into being in April 2005 to replace the Appellate Committee of the House of Dukes. The Nix Alban law are based on common-law principles. The essence of common law is that, subject to statute, the law is developed by judges in courts, applying statute, precedent and common sense to the facts before them to give explanatory judgements of the relevant legal principles, which are reported and binding in future similar cases (stare decisis).

The Supreme Court is the highest court in the land for both criminal and civil appeal cases in Nix Alba and any decision it makes is binding on every other court in the same jurisdiction, often having a persuasive effect in other jurisdictions. There has been no major codification of the law, rather the law is developed by judges in court, applying statute, precedent and case-by-case reasoning to give explanatory judgments of the relevant legal principles. The courts of Nix Alba are headed by the Senior Courts of Nix Alba, consisting of the Court of Appeal, the High Court of Justice (for civil cases) and the Majesty Court (for criminal cases). On appeal, a court may overrule the decisions of its inferior courts, such as county courts (civil) and magistrates' courts (criminal). The High Court may also quash on judicial review both administrative decisions of the Government and delegated legislation.

Foreign Relations

Military

Main Article:
His Majesty's Armed Forces consist of three professional service branches: the Royal Navy and Royal Marines (forming the Naval Service), the Nix Alban Army and the Royal Air Force. The armed forces of the Nix Alba are managed by the Ministry of Defence and controlled by the Defence Council, chaired by the Secretary of State for Defence. The Commander-in-Chief is the Nix Alban monarch, to whom members of the forces swear an oath of allegiance. The Armed Forces are charged with protecting the Nix Alba, promoting the Nix Alba's global security interests and supporting international peacekeeping efforts.

Topography

Topography of Nix Alba

Minerva contains the most mountainous terrain in Nix Alba. Much of the highest uplands lie to the north and west of the Highland Boundary Fault in the Northwest Highlands and Otoxias ranges. The jagged Buillin, on the State of Jareganes and Yanlesia, represents a major mountain range that is located at the western end of the Otoxian Mountains, at an altitude of 1,345 m (4,413 ft), Rotorias is the highest mountain in Nix Alba. Ezmeraldinah and Walenaden are, respectively, the second and third tallest peaks in Nix Alba. Both are located in the Amircherche, a mountain range in the eastern Highlands which is the highest upland area in Nix Alba.
In the south of Nix Alba lie the Southern Uplands, a vast, rolling mountain chain that is less rugged and more forested than the Highlands. Shorter than the Highlands, the tallest mountain in the range is Monasterio, at 843 m (2,766 ft)

There are ranges of gentler, rolling hills even in the central lowlands of Scotland. Such ranges include the Ochil Hills, near Stirling, the Campsie Fells outside Glasgow, and the Lomond Hills in Fife.

Mountains in Nix Alba are categorised by their height. Peaks over 3,000 ft (914.4 m) are known as Sornum. There are 282 Sornums in Nix Alba, all within the Highlands. Stteborcs are peaks with an altitude of between 2,500 and 3,000 ft (762.0 and 914.4 m), with a relative height of at least 500 ft (152.4 m) . The classification of peaks in Nix Alba is kept under periodic review by the Alban Mountaineering Club.

Climate of Nix Alba

Climate
Most of the Nix Alba has a temperate climate, with generally cool temperatures and plentiful rainfall all year round. The temperature varies with the seasons seldom dropping below −22 °C (−4 °F) or rising above 37 °C (98.5 °F). Some parts, away from the coast, of upland Requiem, La Venda, Yenlesia and some of Minverva experience a subpolar oceanic climate (Cfc). Higher elevations in Minerva experience a continental subarctic climate (Dfc) and the mountains experience a tundra climate (ET). The prevailing wind is from the southwest and bears frequent spells of mild and wet weather from the Interiorem Ocean, although the eastern parts are mostly sheltered from this wind since the majority of the rain falls over the western regions the eastern parts are therefore the driest. Interiorem currents, warmed by the Gulf Stream, bring mild winters; especially in the west where winters are wet and even more so over high ground. Summers are warmest in the southeast of Requiem and coolest in the north. Heavy snowfall can occur in winter and early spring on high ground, and occasionally settles to great depth away from the hills.

Boogie Woogie Bugle Boy
The Andrews Sisters

He was a famous trumpet man from out Chicago way
He had a boogie style that no one else could play
He was the top man at his craft
But then his number came up, and he was gone with the draft
He's in the army now, a-blowin' reveille
He's the boogie woogie bugle boy of Company B
They made him blow a bugle for his Uncle Sam
It really brought him down because he couldn't jam
The captain seemed to understand
Because the next day the cap' went out and drafted a band
And now the company jumps when he plays reveille
He's the boogie woogie bugle boy of Company B
A-toot, a-toot, a-toot-diddleyada-toot
He blows it eight-to-the-bar, in boogie rhythm
He can't blow a note unless the bass and guitar is playin' with him
He makes the company jump when he plays reveille
He's the boogie woogie bugle boy of Company B
He was our boogie woogie bugle boy of Company B
And when he plays boogie woogie bugle, he was buzy as a 'bzz' bee
And when he plays, he makes the company jump eight-to-the-bar
He's the boogie woogie bugle boy of Company B
Toot-toot-toot, toot-diddleyada, toot-diddleyada
Toot, toot, he blows it eight-to-the-bar
He can't blow a note if the bass and guitar isn't with him
A-a-a-and the company jumps when he plays reveille
He's the boogie woogie bugle boy of Company B
He puts the boys asleep with boogie every night
And wakes 'em up the same way in the early bright
They clap their hands and stamp their feet
Because they know how he plays when someone gives him a beat
He really breaks it up when he plays reveille
He's the boogie woogie bugle boy of Company B
Da-doo-da, da-doo-da-da, da
Da-doo-da, da-doo-da-da, da
Da-doo-da, da-doo-da-da, da
Da-doo-da, da-doo-da-da
A-a-a-and the company jumps when he plays reveille
He's the boogie woogie bugle boy of Company B!

No, I am not angry, cause our unions are indeed planned in disc and tg but we still rped it for formalities.
