Aeternum - 53 “Captain! We finally have it! Well.. mostly” Captain Kearney gestures to the young messenger from the research teams of the Voyager. He continues: “Well, it sounds like gibberish, but when it’s slowed down massively, you can make out a couple of words. Sounds like Ggodish to me, but no one down there speaks it.” The captain’s eyebrows raise. “Let’s get this to the Ggot base camp then. Maybe they’ll know what this means. Massively sped up though? What could that mean…” |
Aeternum - 54 "Tiranat believes the radio transmissions are speech," Beauregard informs Vishnu. "If you slow the transmissions down by a factor of 1000, it starts to resemble Ggodian, although the ignorant Tirantian messenger mistakenly called our language Ggodish." "Beau, can you play it for me?" He pauses before continuing, "It does sound like Ggodian, but I didn't understand a word." "This calls for popcorn!" Beauregard exclaims. "Put Karim on it." "On the popcorn-making?" "On deciphering the speech." "Oh." |
Aeternum - 55 One of the Conshocken contractors needed help to decipher "Ggodish" so over at the mainland one of the advisors Bich Nguyen reviewed this and punted it to Arshdeep Shinh and he translated and deemed it computer talk and translated ir in Plain English, and Bich translated to Conshocken and said enjoy your "hike" and the contractors laughed |
Aeternum - 56 With the storm finally subsiding, Team Alpha manages to re-establish communications with Team Beta. Julian Krev wastes little time briefing Adrian Voss on the developments that occurred during the communications blackout, including the arrival of reinforcements from the Watemayan mainland and the discovery that the mysterious radio signals appear to originate from the monastery near the summit. He also relays the latest findings from their Aeternite allies, who believe the transmissions may contain speech resembling the Ggodian language when slowed down considerably, although their meaning remains unknown. Meanwhile, Team Alpha begins deploying its newly acquired reconnaissance drones. Equipped with advanced sensors and improved resistance to harsh weather conditions, the drones are dispatched towards the mountain to provide Team Beta and the allied expeditions with updated reconnaissance data. With communications restored and additional technological support now available, Team Beta begins making preparations to resume its ascent towards the monastery. |
Aeternum - 57 The principal group continues up the mountain. "The monestary should be close now," Nicola notes. "Is that... Is that... a body?" Amycus shouts. Amycus, Nicola and Vishnu as well Elias Dorn, Helena Marr, Lucy and Samuel Orin traverse the rough, snowy terrain to reach the body. "Now, this is eery," Elias mutters as Lucy barks agitatedly. A man in his 50s was hanging from the stalactite at the edge of a cave. "This looks like a suicide," Nicola notes. "But it doesn't make any sense." "How would he have gotten high enough up to hang himself?" Samuel interjects. Vishnu, who had until now not spoken, finally starts talking. "I know him. That's Jocelyn Sanotoro from the recon group. The man we saw before, he had a necklace associated with Archaiosoliontariiothias. There is no doubt at all. Something must've gone wrong during the recon group's expedition." Shaking his head in disbelief, Vishnu continues, "There is something bothering me though. Jocelyn, he was 40. He looks like he's aged years from when I saw him last month." "Could time pass more quickly close to the monestary?" Samuel inquires. "Does that mean we'll return... If we go the monestary and go back, would a longer stay correspond to almost no time on the outside? Like, we stay a week and, when leave, only minutes have passed on the ground," a puzzled Nicola questions. "I have noticed that the transmissions from the ground have been relatively slow since communications with Team Alpha were re-established. We've even been slowing down our messages before sending them," Helena explains. "This is quite the mystery," Elias concludes. The group hurry to relay this information to Team Alpha, who had only moments earlier re-established the connection. |
Aeternum - 57 Empire of Great Britain - 27 The Mule Corps, having marched through the night, now makes camp in a clearing a little way up the mountain. He kicks out the remains of the fire and mounts Dolly, waiving his swagger stick in the air. "Come on, Muleteers! For Glory and Lord Marchmain's pride!" |
Aeternum - 58 Empire of Great Britain - 27 J: "Wanna climb that big Mountain everyones talking about? |
EoGB's score should actually be 29 as Marchmain did -1 instead of +1 |
Notice: The RP will countiue past this moment, so all the individual stories can wrap up, though it is safe to say Aeternum captured the flagistan Ggot and Watemya Islands |
