The Democratic Republic of Fed Old is a very large, environmentally stunning nation, remarkable for its keen interest in outer space, irreverence towards religion, and stringent health and safety legislation. The compassionate, cynical population of 241 million Fed Oldians have some civil rights, but not too many, enjoy the freedom to spend their money however they like, to a point, and take part in free and open elections, although not too often.

The medium-sized government juggles the competing demands of Law & Order, Education, and Welfare. The average income tax rate is 38.7%.

The Fed Oldian economy, worth 13.0 trillion dollars a year, is led by the Information Technology industry, with major contributions from Retail, Basket Weaving, and Automobile Manufacturing. Average income is 53,941 dollars, and evenly distributed, with the richest citizens earning only 3.3 times as much as the poorest.

Punk rockers smash it up and then clean it up, troublemakers boast about how many times they have to visit their therapist, for some reason the census focuses on daily banana ingestion and hourly quip rate, and major archaeological findings are frequently bulldozed to make way for new buildings. Crime, especially youth-related, is totally unknown, thanks to a capable police force and progressive social policies in education and welfare. Fed Old's national animal is the dolphin, which frolics freely in the nation's sparkling oceans.

Fed Old is ranked 48,138^th in the world and 26^th in Benigtopia for Most Compassionate Citizens, scoring 48.45 on the Kitten Softness Rating.
