Appalachiana is an ancient, mountainous region covered in dense forests and deep valleys. Long isolated from the outside world, it is known for its dangerous wilderness and the many cryptid creatures that inhabit it, including Wendigos, Mothmen, and countless others once believed to be myths. Despite these dangers, thriving communities have developed throughout the region, combining modern industry and technology with ancient traditions. Vast areas of Appalachiana remain unexplored, and its people live with the understanding that the wilderness can never be fully conquered.
The people of Appalachiana have learned a simple truth: The mountains were here long before mankind arrived. And one day, they may remain long after mankind is gone.
