The Chosun Times / 조선 일보 / Chosŏn Ilbo Democrat Party HQ raided; 22 arrested HANYANG — The People's Investigatory Service (MOI-PIS) announced the arrests of multiple Democrat Party officials, including party leader Ri Pak-Hye, following a raid at their main offices in Hanyang. Nearly 200 MOI-PIS officers cordoned off the office building before raiding and searching the premises at around 10AM yesterday. Party leader Ri Pak-Hye, Secretary-General Zhen Yanshan, Congressional leader Yun Gyu-suk, and 18 party representatives on the Supreme People's Assembly (SPA) of the Chosun SSR were arrested. The grounds for arrest included sexual assault, complicity in sexual assault, and conspiracy to commit sexual assault. Handcuffed, the arrested party members were brought out of the office at around 11 am. Their departure was followed by the collection of materials by MOI-PIS officers, who seized computers, mobile phones, tablets, physical documents, and physical data storage units such as USBs and hard drives. A specialized truck was later brought onto the scene to remove data servers within the party offices. Officers also seized the party's social media accounts and website, locking them from public view with a message that stated a criminal investigation is currently underway. On the same day, the Public Security Forces of Hanyang Metropolitan City arrested the Democrat Party representative who was implicated for sexual impropriety a week ago. Later that night, the MOI-PIS froze the assets within the party's bank accounts, totalling $18 million USP, and issued orders forbidding financial services providers from performing any financial service for over 400 members of the Democrat Party. All Democrat Party members were furthermore instructed to remain within the country unless permission was sought to grant their leave. The move was made due to a reasonable suspicion that the party had engaged in improper financial practices, such as the illicit solicitation of donations, the embezzlement of donations, and the provision of faulty financial disclosures to the Ministry of Revenues. Investigators state that the restrictions will not be lifted in the foreseeable future. Deputy Minister of Investigations Yang Xiling said on a press conference that the FEUSSR is a society with the rule of law, and that all people are expected to abide by the law. Law enforcement organizations have the power and duty to investigate the activity of organizations if it is suspected that they have acted contrary to the law. The Minister later emphasized that the charges currently faced by some of the Democrat Party's leaders are very serious, and as such warrant severe measures. Various women's associations and sexual abuse advocacy groups firmly supported of the move as well and praised the MOI-PIS for handling the matters in a timely and serious manner. However, the Democrat Party struck back at the arrest operation. A spokesperson stated that the operation was an attempt to destroy political freedom in the FEUSSR as part of a concerted attempt to shape a culture of fear, and criticised the MOI-PIS for allegedly abusing its power to "harass" political parties. The allegations were denied by the Deputy Minister, who stated the operation was performed in accordance to the law and in response to criminal complaints. |

ABC News Aboriginal Parliament Elects Speaker After Weeks Long Deadlock The Aboriginal Parliament has elected a new Speaker after weeks long deadlock following the recent general election. After a record 9 rounds of voting within the chamber, Deborah Minjarra Cox was elected Speaker of the Aboriginal Parliament, becoming the first woman to take the role. The Aboriginal Parliament operates under a consensus governing system in which the elected Speaker must be elected by a majority of the members of the Aboriginal Parliament; all candidates who are running are voted on and the lowest candidate is eliminated. The process is repeated in subsequent rounds until a single candidate has a majority (38) of the votes. Traditionally, the Aboriginal Parliament has been dominated by independents, with the major parties only holding a handful of seats, but in the recent election, a surge in support for United for Justice-Aboriginal Voice led them to claim 20 seats, the most for any party in the AP’s history. United for Justice’s leader, Yunda Cooke, ran for the Speaker position and advanced to the 3rd round with Green and Democratic Labor support, alongside incumbent Speaker Wannigoora Matthews, who was backed by several independents, the National Union Party, and Yawarra, and Deborah Minjarra Cox, who was primarily backed by independents. All three candidates received exactly 25 votes, leading to the voting to continue for 5 further rounds for a total of 8 over the span of weeks before the Democratic Labor Party’s sole member switched his vote from Yunda Cooke to Deborah Minjarra Cox, allowing Cooke to be eliminated and Cox and Matthews to advance to a 9th round, where Cox defeated Matthews with the endorsement of United for Justice and the Greens. The office of Speaker places Ms Cox as the voice of the Aboriginal Government, serving in a role more akin to the prime minister than a presiding role like the Speaker of the Aozhou House of Representatives. As Speaker, she leads the consensus government in the Aboriginal Parliament, can request an audience in the Aozhou House of Representatives to relay motions passed by the Aboriginal Parliament, and serves ex-officio as a Senator of Aozhou and the Premier of the Central Aboriginal Territories. Recently elected to a third term in the Aboriginal Parliament, she sits as an independent and has long advocated for improving Aboriginal education, expanding education in Aboriginal languages, and increasing knowledge of Aboriginal culture and history among both Aboriginal and non-Aboriginal citizens. Speaking after her election, Ms Cox told reporters that “Being elected Speaker is the honor of my life. West-East will bind Southern Soumi and Svealand together by road and train over Åland, through an extensive system of roads and rail, bridges and tunnels, shortening the travel time between Åbo and Stockholm from between 9 and 14 hours, to a mere 3 hours and 20 minutes. The roadway will be a four-lane highway, accompanied by a double-tracked railway, which will be 300 kilometers long, going along existing highways and roads together with newly constructed bridges, and two undersea tunnels. The project will from start to finish will go along the following route: START - STOCKHOLM The project will, as previously stated, be the largest in Fosnian history. It is projected to take four years to finish, and cost $39.600.000.000 over those four years. We are happy to finally connect the Finnish - Soumi region to Svealand and the rest of Fosna. This project will make a trip from Stockholm to Helsinki in to a mere 5 hour drive, instead of a weekend trip, and also make it possible to drive your private car from Helsinki to Stockholm, København or Oslo in a day. Operatio Malleus Vulcani Phase Line 1: Frankfurt and Erfurt Operations will begin the moment this briefing is sent to field centuriae and relevant military staff. V and VI Legio will be heading north from Stuttgart, following the road into Frankfurt. This should take 1-2 days. Once Frankfurt has been secured, the end of phase 1 has been completed. V and VI Legio will hold their position until X Legio has reported that their position is secured. X Legio will be leaving Nuremberg, and moving north toward Erfurt. It is not a strategically important location, however it closes the gap between Frankfurt and Leipzig, bringing all Roman forces to approximately the same region of Germany. Once their position is secured, they will report in and if necessary wait for V and VI Legio to report in. Phase Line 2: Düsseldorf, Hannover, and Berlin Once Frankfurt and Erfurt have been secured, all Roman legions in Germany will begin a full scale advance toward 3 of the last 4 major population centers of Reich-controlled Germany. V and VI Legio will move toward Düsseldorf, X Legio will make the long haul for Hannover supported by the reserve XI Legio, and VII Legio will meet UMR brigade combat teams outside of Berlin. The Cohors Equites will be in tandem with their legions, providing valuable armored support and artillery cover. Roman troops will move as quickly as possible, engaging any Reich forces who do not surrender immediately. They CANNOT fire on enemy combatants who are surrendering. Medical Aid Stations and Field Hospitals Our medical staff, as well as the Roman Red Cross, will be moving throughout this operation. East Asia Daily / 東亞日報 / 동아일보 / Tong-a Ilbo Austerity will delay free healthcare rollout, Minister of Health says SHUNTIAN — The Ministry of Health's plans to provide free, universal healthcare within the FEUSSR will be set back due to the advent of austerity, Minister of Health Li Junnan said this morning. Minister Li was speaking to reporters as part of a public consultation on healthcare reform. She revealed the Ministry's plans, which had been in the works for years, to transition the FEUSSR's public health system from a insurance-based model to a wholly-subsidised model. Currently, most of the FEUSSR's population is covered by universal social insurance, where employers, local governments, and the Federal government each provide contributions to support individual healthcare costs. With the ballooning of the Ministry of Health's budget from $120 billion USD in FY1 to $400 billion USD last year, wide-ranging subsidies were gradually introduced to cover the costs of essential medicines, vaccines, viral testing kits, and more. This has consequently led to discussions of reforming the current insurance system, so that a single-payer healthcare system could be implemented - a plan which heavily hinged on the Ministry's access to funding. With the Ministry experiencing a drastic 25% cut to its budget the next year, the Minister has said that such plans would need to be put on the backburner owing to fiscal constraints and limitations in resources. According to funding projections, over 60% of the public health workforce will have their working hours cut by anywhere from 6-15%, and subsidies for essential medicines will need to be halved across the board just so the Ministry can afford to make payroll. Furthermore, over 400 ongoing projects to renovate or construct new public healthcare facilities will need to be postponed for a duration of two years. The Minister will also arrange for two rounds of public consultation to explore innovative ways to save on costs. "The decision to postpone reforms is something that we had to think really hard about,” Minister Li said. "It is a very regrettable outcome because it was going to be so important and positive to the people's livelihoods. With that being said, I hope to make it very clear that this is merely a stumbling block, and that we, if things go well, will be able to deliver on universal single-payer healthcare." Operation Crossbow Operation Crossbow has entered its last phase before the next main operation. HAS-10 and F-35B units have been conducting heavy air strikes on German positions south of Berlin up and down fields and roads east and west of the M13 Highway corridor, and other positions east of Berlin, north and south of the M12 Highway corridor. German Luftwaffe have lost 17 air craft in ongoing Air Superiority battles, including 10 Panavia Tornados and 7 Typhoons. TB2 and Dory UAV units have also conducted extensive anti vehicle strikes in numerous areas, taking out dozens of IFV’s in the process. The town of Cottbus, largely evacuated with German civilians fleeing through a humanitarian corridor to The second german republic has come in range of Archer artillery units, who have begun a heavy bombardment of known German positions within the town, and to the north. Similar strikes have begun on towns across the M13 corridor. BCT teams on the M13 axis have begun moving into forward positions to begin an overall incursion into Nazi held territory. On the M12 axis, BCT teams have begun to move through the corridor freely, and artillery strikes have begun on Frankfurt an der Oder. The teams are moving fast to ensure the two bridges in the area can be secured. Operation Phantom has also been initiated in the city to ensure civilians are warned of the strikes and have been seen to be evacuating the region. 200 Spartan Special Forces soldiers have begun operating south of Berlin taking out AA and artillery placements, as well as acting as scouts for the next phase of the Military Operation. Nazi artillery strikes on BCT teams have resulted in 17 KIA and 32 injured, along with two artillery pieces destroyed and 6 APC’s destroyed. With an overview of the situation, an additional 20,000 Marines will be deployed within the next month to supplement lines and secure combat effectiveness moving forward. Roughly 120,000 UMR Soldiers and Marines will be in country by the end of the month to participate in the upcoming operations, jointly connected with Roman and Democratic German Forces. Additionally the UMR Red Cross have begun flying in additional medical supplies, and additional field hospitals have been set up to process all the injured. HYŎNGMYŎNG-SI — The FEUSSR is making plans to launch a one-of-a-kind drone carrier which makes use of an artificial intelligence system and dozens of autonomous vehicles to conduct a variety of tasks. The vessel, upon its completion, will measure approximately 88 meters in length, 14 meters in width, and 6 meters in depth, and can be controlled either remotely or operate autonomously in open water. Some of its preset tasks include the observation of maritime targets, which would make it integral towards performing duties related to disaster prevention, environmental monitoring, and offshore maintenance. It can travel at speeds of up to 33 kilometers per hour, and will be ready for delivery in around 2 years. A variety of unmanned maritime vehicles can be deployed from the ship, such as those which are diesel-powered, wave-powered, or solar-powered. The vehicles are then able to operate as part of a network to provide accurate, real-time information and data in a cost-effective manner. The carrier will be built in the Zvezda Shipbuilding Complex, with input from the Ocean University (Haida) on the development of the ship's inbuilt AI system. Total funding for the vessel stands at approximately $300 million USD, with Federal grants and subsidies covering a third of the cost. Update on Operatio Malleus Vulcani Our legions have been held back for a week in their attempts at reaching Frankfurt and Erfurt. They've finally arrived, and we are now moving into phase 2 of Operatio Malleus Vulcani. Unfortunately, we are now a week behind schedule and have taken more casualties than expected. The reserve legions have had to be moved up closer to the frontline, to reinforce and replace wounded or killed. Rostock, Germany As battles across German territory continue to intensify, so do the efforts of the Argentine staff tending to those wounded and others who come to the port facilities of Rostock in seek of medical treatment. 3 Naval Aviation helicopters have recently flown in much needed supplies from British vessels stationed outside German territorial waters. The personnel of the Argentine Armed Forces thank their counterparts in the Royal Armed Forces for such considerate human gesture. As the numbers of civilians in need of medical care increase, the staff aboard the hospital ships and in the Argentine Air Force Mobile Field Hospital have decided to put into practice a triage classification of patients, as to optimize and prioritize all available time and resources in this critical situation. Cases deemed with no or minor urgency will be placed into a temporary encampment located besides the Mobile Field Hospital. All other classifications will be managed according to the staff's discretion. People's Defence Force - CLASSIFIED The PDF intends to embark on a plan to reorganize and reform its special forces units over a period of 4 years, as part of an effort to adapt to new security challenges. Currently, the PDF's special forces units are each attached to individual combat units and are not considered to be separate, independent combat units. The plan will help the city look more uniform in style and be known as an iconic city for tourists and a beautiful city to live in for locals. While the demolition of many buildings will be needed in order for the renovation to work, all the housing from the building will be very affordable for the local population. The project is estimated to cost from 60 billion dollars up to 130 billion dollars and will be built in whole by the state. The proposed plan is only concerned with the upgrade of the city and isnt aimed at expanding the city whatsoever. More high density buildings will be built to sustain the population as more and more people are coming from the other states of the federation into the capital. The city plan will emphasize the need for walkability and greenery in the city and will favour public transit rather than personal automobiles.
