"HOW YA LIKE THAT YA WANKERS?! I'VE GOT MORE FOR YOUR A**ES IF YOU WANT ANOTHER SPANKING!"

Speaking normally to Chamberlain, he turned around to look towards the village

"So big boy...come here often or are you just happy to see me?"

He was then interrupted by the Urban Assault Vehicle fired a parting strike towards the the other patrol it detected on it's radars though it was a near miss from what the radio reported.

Chamberlain lit another cigarette, taking a deep drag before replying to Cooper.

Chamberlain: You are by far the most unprofessional, overbearing, annoying, insane b*stard on this side of the world but by God am I glad you're on our side. Chamberlain dwarfed most men with his size, 6'5 230 pounds not many people wished to anger the large Major. Chamberlain was known for his ability to gel with others but Cooper and many agents in the division annoyed the Major and many found Chamberlain equally annoying and too forth coming with criticism towards them, and found that his sense of honor was too overbearing for most Division Agents, but they begrudgingly admitted he was good at his job. The Major in return respected the division in getting their job done. What toys did Uncle Sam see fit to give us?

Cooper grinned as the massive assault rig came to a stop and he hopped down from the roof. Cooper, roughly 6'2 and built like a tree that was still sprouting branches, easily landed on both foot and stood to his full height. Looking Chamberlain in the eyes, he replied

"Guns, guns and more guns and a few missiles. Oh and our lovely assault vehicle here. Ain't too many of the things but this one is loaded with goodies. Radar, UAV drones, a 60mm mortar and missile launcher in the rear. We've got enough guns, ammo and supplies to impress the good Sultan and his officers and more is on the way. The kind that Uncle Sam only brings out to make a point. It's loaded on a freighter and will arrive in the coming weeks to unload the goods. trucks, more guns, some artillery and 4 launcher systems. The nasty kind of launchers. Not chemical but thermobaric. How's that for toys?"

President Ma Xiaodan: Please, sit down, we have much to discuss, minister. I assume you know why I wanted to speak with you?

Minister Jin Zhiqiang: I'm guessing it has to do with the Federal Election? You'll have my vote, don't worry.

President Ma: Actually, I'm not going to ask you to vote for me. I'm not going to be running again for any office. At the end of this term, I'll have been President of the Republic of China for twenty years in total.

Minister Jin: Wait, so you wanted to speak about the Federal Election, but you're not asking for a vote because you're retiring?

President Ma: Exactly. I feel that I've been doing this long enough and I want to give someone with newer, fresher, more exciting ideas the reigns. Besides, someone younger can do this job for longer and is more appealing to the masses. I wanted to speak with you because I feel you should take the mantle next.

Minister Jin: Really, sir? Even if I wanted to, a lot of the older ministers wouldn't vote for someone like me. It's always been the older ministers to serve as President.

President Ma: I know, and that's why I've spoken to a few ministers already. If they see that I see something in you, you're set to take the office of President of the Republic of China. Yes, people vote in ministers to the Federal Legislature, but how would they know who could accurately lead this nation? Nearly a billion people and if everyone had their say, a new Federal Legislature election would occur before a President is decided.

Minister Jin: If I may ask, sir, what do you see in me versus all the other ministers?

President Ma: Like I previously mentioned, you're younger. Though, I do need to ask you some questions to be sure I'm not making a mistake. Tell me, how do you feel about Europe?

Minister Jin: You mean the war-torn continent that can't even stay a peace for a decade? The United Mediterranean Republics can is really our only viable ally on that continent, even though I wouldn't consider them European. I'd say they're more Eurasian.

President Ma: Yes, the continent of Europe has seen the most conflict as of recent. Now, how do you feel about the Eastern Soviet Union?

Minister Jin: The Eastern Soviet Union is a mockery of the Qing Empire. I know we've gained our independence from the Qing over a century ago, but at least we knew how to operate with the Qing, this Far Eastern Union of Soviet Socialist Republics is unpredictable and a danger to the sovereignty of the Republic of China. Their puppet organization surrounds us and yet they act like they aren't doing anything against us. The Eastern Soviet Union wants our lands to reform the pre-1912 territories, just as we should strive to unite the Han under one rule. Peking, Kansu, Hopeh, Ningsia, Shensi, Shansi, and Tientsin is home to Han people that are under the rule of a nation that has their capital in Hankuo. The Chinese people shouldn't be ruled from Hankuo no matter the circumstances.

President Ma: Interesting. You mentioned, not by name, the Global Security Association. Why do you call them the Eastern Soviet Union's puppet organization?

Minister Jin: The Eastern Soviet Union holds power over all in that organization and no one would dare leave it since the only other options would be us, who they've most likely been told to be weary of, or the United States, which has no need to surround itself with nations that occupy the Global Security Association's ranks.

President Ma: I see. You've also led into my next question, the United States?

Minister Jin: A powerful ally we can attempt to procure. An alliance with them would provide unchallenged superiority in the Pacific, especially if we continue to grow the Chinese Armed Forces. While Americans value loyalty, they value money to a fault. Show them that China and the International Security and Prosperity Organization has much to offer them, and it's possible their little alliance with the Soviet Union could wash away. That is, if we can't get the Soviet Union as well. The natural resources they could offer would be invaluable to us. America is the key to Chinese dominance, if not in the world, right here in Asia and the Pacific itself.

President Ma: I will admit, I am surprised at your answers. Not in a bad way, of course, but pleasantly surprised. I feel my time has made me lazy and stagnant. You being young and full of ideas is something China needs when going into the future. While you will have gather your own support, I can assure you that as long as you remain in the Federal Legislature, you will retain the Presidency. A new leader for a new generation. A new leader to find better solutions to old problems, and solutions to new ones as well. Minister Jin, I believe you'd be the perfect choice to lead after I'm gone.

Minster Jin: Thank you, sir. Although, the Federal Legislature elections aren't for another two years.

President Ma: I know that, as well. I wanted to let you know now. It's much easier to put you in that position if we start now, then if I asked right before the election. I will warn you though, once you're President of the Republic of China, it's up to you to keep yourself up. I know you have many ideas, but you'll have to make sure that they see you for the leader you will be.

Minister Jin: Is there anything I can do to help this transition?

President Ma: A few things, actually. One, be yourself and don't attempt to sway anything because you know what's going to happen. They like you because of who you are. If they don't like you now, they will. Two, don't speak a word of this. I'll handle everything that doesn't require you to vote on legislature.

Minister Jin: Thank you, sir. It's a honor.

President Jin: You'll also be replacing Minister Dai as head of the Ministry of Emergency Management for right now. Don't worry, you'll work your way up as soon as something can be worked out. We just need to get the Kuomintang out of the government.

Minister Jin: When do I start?

President Ma: Eager, I see. You'll start next week after the changeover has been officially announced. We can fabricate a story to cover up what's going on.

Minister Jin: Wouldn't that be going against the unity we stand for? Removing a minister for no real reason?

President Ma: The Kuomintang stand with little power right now. We can make sure they never gain power in the future by tainting the name. The Kuomintang stand to tear the Republic of China apart if they gain too much power. So, you'll be replacing Minister Dai.

Minister Jin: Is there anything else, sir?

President Ma: Not at the moment, no. You can leave. I want to speak with you again in the future though once things fall into place a bit more. I believe you are the future of China.

Northern Drainage Tunnel Project announced

SHENCHENG — The Federal government has announced the commencement of the Northern Drainage Tunnel Project as part of a plan to mitigate the effects flooding and help alleviate water scarcity issues.

Under this Project, the Federal government will construct a drainage tunnel system spanning from the city of Shencheng to 4 terminus points, which will help intercept and convey stormwater away from the city northwards. The move is also a maritime protection measure for the city, as its subtropical maritime monsoon climate makes it susceptible to heavy downpours and typhoons each year. Excessive precipitation could disrupt this important hub of global commerce, inconvenience the public, and cause losses to the people's personal property - all of which are undesirable outcomes that ought to be avoided.

Upon its completion, the Northern Drainage Tunnel will be able to channel copious quantities of stormwater away from Shencheng to alleviate flooding, while also transferring excess water to areas currently facing high levels of water stress. The Tunnels terminate at the cities of Linyi, Rizhao, Haichow, and Yancheng, where they are held in reservoirs connected to the local water supply.

The diameter of the drainage tunnels are approximately 7.8 meters wide, with each tunnel stretching over 550 kilometers. Over 500 intakes to intercept surface runoff are included in the design.

Three public bodies are in charge of the project: the Department of Maritime Protections and Department of Canals of the Ministry of Works, and the Department of Environmental Infrastructure of the Ministry of the Environment. The three Departments pledge to complete the Northern Drainage Tunnel Project in 5 years, at a cost of $30 billion USP.

The three Departments are seeking consultants to assist with the planning and design of this new, challenging project.

Construction has been contracted out to a joint venture between the Far Eastern Communications Construction Company (FEC3) and Far Eastern State Construction Engineering Corporation, both of which are equipped with ample experience in the construction of large-scale public works.

The Imperial Federation of Infiny

NOVAYA

Chariyu Vecher.

We welcome you to this special broadcast of the Infinian Public Broadcasting Foundation. The polls on Socotra have just closed, meaning that we are able to project the results of the referendum in a matter of minutes. Joining me here today are Fabio Afrax, former Prime Minister of the Imperial Federation, Linas von Quicksinken, Admiral of the Infinian Navy, Mark Rokosovski, best-selling author, and Vaso Vulkan, CEO of Bouwput Incorporated. Welcome all. I'd like to start with you, Mr. Afrax. During your tenure, you faced considerable pressure from across the political isle to exert Infinian influence on the island of Socotra. Yet you did not make any moves to incrase Infinian presence on the island. Could you elobare on that?

"Yes I can, Fiqi. What we often gloss over when we discuss the island of Socotra is its crucial strategic value. This is exclusively due to location - we know little of natural resource extraction because political turmoil and instability has offered little chance for official surveyors to assess the situation. However, we do know that nearly all naval shipping routes that use the Suez Canal also pass by the island of Socotra in some way - either to its south or to its north. It's hard to underestimate the strategic value. This strategic value meant that making a move on it would risk colossal international isolation.

"International Isolation does not seem to be looming now, Mr. Afrax. What do you think changed?"

"I think it's due to the politics that the Imperial Federation pursued in the last couple of years. We have taken some foreign policy stands, notably towards the chaos unfolding in Europe, but under the previous Hrystsai and Cyseia administrations we have I think we have successfully positioned Infiny as a stabilizing force that is willing to work with mostly everybody, regardless of any ideological bloc. From a highly partisan foreign policy in my time, I believe the Imperial Federation is now in a position where it can retain respectable relations with nations around the globe regardless of geopolitical entanglements."

"Mr. Vulkan, Mr. Afrax mentioned the foreign policy of the Imperial Federation shifthing over the last couple of years. Do you think that from an economics standpoint, Infiny has opened itself more towards the international community?"

"I do. From my own experience, I can tell that the ease of doing business in Infiny has considerably improved over the last couple of years. Although we have seen some off-putting rhetoric from some politicians that have had investors scared, we're seeing that from 2010 to 2020, the Imperial Federation has been a place where business is considerably easier. We have moved to a model where we judge our partners and investors on their individual actions rather than to which geopolitical bloc they belong, which I believe has been the right path to go down."

Thank you. I am curious, Mr. Rokosovski, that you have called the current war against the Yemeni State an "excuse for the reactionary rhetoric to resurface" in a recent Guardixa column. Could you elaborate a bit on that?

"Of course. In my column, I considered what the causes of this war are, whether it is justifiable to both the Infinian and Yemeni people, and whether the current Ciseiya-administration is using this war as a front for what can be described as little more than a stealthy landgrab. It's important to remember that this is an area of land the Imperial Federation has coveted for many hundreds of years but has not made any inherent effort to return to the nation. Can we in good conscience ignore the historical context of this referendum and declare it simply a peaceful reunification? And, perhaps more significantly, is it going to end with Socotra, or will the Imperial Federation make additional claims onto key strategic positions to increase its position in the southern Red Sea and Gulf of Malao?"

"Critics have pointed out that you fail to mention the Socotris did not have the political means available to organize and push for an official referendum. What are your thoughts on that?"

"I think that's a load of bull if I'm honest. We've seen people rise up in the most violent of dictatorships in an effort to enforce their political will, whether that's liberalization, independence, or anything else. Perhaps the Socotris did not have the direct institutions, but they are located on an island where central control has proven to be weak over the last decade or so. Had the Socotris wanted to organize a referendum, or at least voice their support for unification with Infiny, they've had decades or even centuries to do so. The political will to organize is inherent in any suppressed people, since we've seen people much more tightly controlled by totalitarian governments actually succeed in their struggles to at least voice their displeasure. And although the Socotris have voiced their displeasure numerous times in recent history, it has never taken the shape of direct annexation by Infiny."

Thank you, Mr. Rokosovski. Admiral, as you know the referendum is likely to enjoy majority support. Do you think Infinian possession of the archipelago will translate to renewed investment into the Infinian naval capacity?

"Certainly, yes. The Infinian administration will realize that the islands are too strategically viable to leave open to any possible threat, be it a foreign nation, a subversive threat, or even piracy. Aside from that, I think the international community will exert additional pressure on Infinian naval responsibility. As the Prime Minister pointed out, taking Socotra will propel us to play a considerably larger role in global trade. If we are not able to police the trade routes near us, we will be called out on it. If we don't live up to the expectations, other nations which do take responsibility will encroach on our territory and reduce Infiny to a passive bystander that is not in control of its full territorial extent. If we want to be a sovereign nation, we have to play the part that is expected from us, and more extensive naval capacities are part of that."

"Thank you, Admiral. I propose we turn towards the clock since the results will appear on our screen any second now."

OFFICIAL RESULT OF THE INFINO-SOCOTRI UNIFICATION REFERENDUM 2022

1. Do you support the unification of the Socotra Authority with the Imperial Federation, as either a federal state or part of the state of Suiyeti?

Vote share: 63%

2. Do you support the status-quo of the Socotra Authority as a sovereign nation?

Vote share: 35%

Minister of Defense Bogotá, Colombia -national broadcast- 14:00

Yesterday a raid was conducted by Joint Task Force OMEGA and Rapid Deployment Force (FUDRA) in the Arauca Department, its goal was to interrupt FARC forces which have been building up recently along Colombian-Venezuelan border. The operation was a complete success seizing weapons and drugs denying FARC funds for the war (Gran Colombian Conflict 1964-pressent) recent advances by FARC, GCP, and ELN have raised concern over their future intensions, in return the president has adopted a more aggressive policy demanding more action to be taken to handle the threat and to reestablish control in aeras under their control.

Rivinja

The Taint of Grief - Kotor, Federal Republic of Rivinja

Minister Milan Lazic puffed out his chest, examining the much smaller man who sat across from him. Both wore black suits and ties, their faces, much like the world outside, devoid of all color. Straightening his back as he puffed, Milan let a low groan exit through his nostrils. “Mr Despotovic,” he said, narrowing his gaze, “you continue to disappoint me.”

Adam Despotovic, Minister of Foreign Affairs, shrugged as the old general’s remarks landed. Picking up one of the coffee mugs that sat between them, Adam slowly took that first sip. “Ah,” he sighed, satisfied with the finest balance of coffee and creamer he’d ever had. Putting the cup down, he returned Milan’s narrow gaze. “If I cared about your opinion on matters of foreign policy I’d ask for it.” He permitted himself a smile as the general’s lips twisted into a sneer. “But I don’t. Presidents Paskalev and Zoric appointed me to oversee the Federal Republic’s foreign policy, not you.”

A tense silence fell between the two men, Paskalev’s name not taken easily by either of them. “President Paskalev was a visionary before his time,” Milan said, easing himself against the back of his seat. “He knew your worth, our worth. But…” he tapped his finger impatiently against the table. “Zoric,” he shrugged, throwing a quick glance at the door. “Zoric is like a chicken with its head cut off. Since the… assassination there has been little real leadership.”

Adam’s eyebrows shot up in surprise as he twisted his fingers nervously together. This was not a conversation to be having within the halls of government. “He has managed to open diplomatic avenues to both the UMR and Turco-Bulgaria. During Paskalev’s brief time in office we only managed to alienate the North Africans in Morocco. At least Zoric is winning us allies.”

Milan’s fists balled where they were on the table, Adam’s defense of Zoric almost as repulsive as the man himself. He opened his mouth to scold the young minister, his eyes narrow like the blade of a dagger. Drilling his opponent with every ounce of hatred he could muster, Milan barely held himself together long enough to prevent from jumping across the table to strangle Adam. “Rivinja has never needed allies and will never need allies. Her armies have always defended her against outsiders without fail.”

“Without fail?” Adam barely succeeded in holding back laughter, Rivinja’s scarred history as a subject to countless masters flooding the forefront of his memory. “Our people have been subjugated by others for countless centuries. Why, we didn’t even gain the upper hand against the Serbs until 1958 when Yugoslavia collapsed and we reconciled ourselves to them. So don’t tell me that we’d survive alone.”

The Minister of Defense’s face twisted with hate, his wounded pride refusing the truth Adam spoke. He opened his mouth to rebuke Adam, the gears in his mind straining to find some way to twist Adam’s words into falsehoods. But before he could land on an excuse, some way to justify Rivinja’s isolation, Draga Petrovic marched into the conference room. She wore a black sheath dress and a strand of black pearls, her blonde hair bouncing joyously in large curls above her shoulders as she strode to her seat at the long table.

“Gentlemen,” she said, giving each man a nod before taking her seat. “I hope I’m not interrupting anything important.” Milan clenched his teeth, his jaw rising and falling rhythmically as he withdrew his hands from the top of the table. Adam simply smiled. “Good,” Draga said, shooting Milan a sideways glance. She leaned forward, folding her hands in front of her as her slim waistline met with the edge of the table. “The Minister of the Economy and I met earlier this morning and hashed out the exact details of Operation Calypso.”

“Ekdikisi,” Milan interrupted, his tone harsh. “Paskalev’s plan was renamed following his death.” Silence filled the room as the three ministers considered the former president and his wild plan to take the Adriatic by storm. “What did you and Bratislav come up with?”

Draga narrowed her eyes at Milan briefly, displeased with his interruption. “We can allot upwards of 500 million dollars to purchase new or used ships from foreign powers. As of yet we do not possess the ability to build our own ships but that shouldn’t deter us from one day trying.”

Milan nodded his head, his posture relaxing even as Adam took a noisy sip from his coffee. “We’ll send out a few feelers, get an idea for what the market has to offer. The UMR, USSR, and the USA might be good places to look first. If they’re too expensive then we can move down the chain to lesser powers who might be selling their older military seacraft at more affordable prices.”

“Shouldn’t Zoric be the one to appro-” Adam began.

“Zoric doesn’t need to know!” Milan slammed his fist down atop the table, rattling both ministers who jumped back in surprise. “As I said, since Paskalev’s passing there has been no real leadership. And if Zoric won’t lead then I will.” He pointed towards the door, teeth clenched. “And if you’re going to defend him you can leave.”

Adam shrugged his shoulders, making for the door without a second thought. Milan’s rhetoric was bordering on insubordinate, treasonous even, and he was going to have nothing to do with it. As he walked down the long corridor bustling with all the sights and sounds of a wounded bureaucracy, scores of politicians and aides each still dressed in mourner’s clothes, he caught sight of something he did not expect. At the far end of the corridor a glimpse of color glistened in the first flicker of sunlight he’d seen since the assassination. Adam paused, blinking twice to ensure he wasn’t just seeing things.

Seated beneath one of the many windows was a man dressed much like every other man in Rivinja. Black slacks, dress shoes, and a dress coat, a pressed white button-up shirt underneath, and a tie. But unlike every other man’s tie, this one was bright red. Red? Adam asked himself. Red was the primary color of Rivinja United, the party that Paskalev had championed before his death to show the blood he was willing to shed in defense of his homeland. Oh how terribly poetic it all now seemed.

Adam took a step forward, his curiosity demanding an answer from the man in the corner, but he was stopped just ten feet shy by the fuming Minister Petrovic. “I can’t believe him,” she said, stepping between Adam and the man. “Milan seems to believe that just because he controls the military he can do as he pleases. We’re a democracy, a nation where the people decide, not the generals.” She huffed, her eyes wide and her hands on her hips. “Just wait for the next cabinet meeting. We’ll put him in his place.”

Adam nodded, glancing over Draga’s shoulder to the corner, but the man was no longer there. “Yes, Minister,” he said, disappointment in his voice. “We’ll get him.”

Your Excellency,

I appreciate your invitation to Vyborg for a meeting.
I would be happy to pursue closer diplomatic bonds with Romanovskaya, and a state visit would surely help promote this.

However, I regard the matter of our own military exercises in our own territory as a non-issue, and the Fosnian government will not discuss this any further. We have compromized enough by scaling down Naval and airial activity in the area surrounding Romanovskaya.

If you wish, we could invite reperesentatives of your cabinet, or your Army, your Imperial Guard, or the Romanovan Patriotic Front to oversee, and even attend the exercises to ensure towards Romanovskaya that there are no hostile intentions between Fosna and Romanovskaya.

We have the right to condusct exercises in our own land. We are sorry if you feel otherwise, and assure you that these exercises are for the collective security of both our nations.

Your Excellency, Gen. Itzhak Shulman.

I am delighted to know you are willing to visit Romanovskaya in the interests of strengthening the already strong diplomatic ties between our two nations and it will be an honour to receive you on your first official state visit as Prime Minister of Fosna.

I do however believe it to be of utmost importance for us to not rule certain issues off the table of discussion. With regards to the planned Fosnian military exercises, it is my belief there is still much to discuss as there are still some uncertainties. It was not immediately clear to me what terms you would carry over that were put forward by the previous Fosnian administration. In fact I was not informed the military exercises were cancelled by the previous administration, and only learned after the fact from Fosnian news reports.

Without going into too much further detail, I believe it is key to your visit we be able to meet in person and discuss privately a suitable compromise, that I am sure can be acceptable to both parties. At the very least, we will be able to clear up any confusion there might be with regards to our respective points of view.

Operation Phantom has also been initiated in the city to ensure civilians are warned of the strikes and have been seen to be evacuating the region.

200 Spartan Special Forces soldiers have begun operating south of Berlin taking out AA and artillery placements, as well as acting as scouts for the next phase of the Military Operation.

Nazi artillery strikes on BCT teams have resulted in 17 KIA and 32 injured, along with two artillery pieces destroyed and 6 APC’s destroyed.

With an overview of the situation, an additional 20,000 Marines will be deployed within the next month to supplement lines and secure combat effectiveness moving forward. Roughly 120,000 UMR Soldiers and Marines will be in country by the end of the month to participate in the upcoming operations, jointly connected with Roman and Democratic German Forces.

Additionally the UMR Red Cross have begun flying in additional medical supplies, and additional field hospitals have been set up to process all the injured.

The next phase of the Military operation will begin tomorrow morning.

Operation High Castle
classified: shared with Roma secundum and The second german republic leadership

With Crossbow having come to an end, BCT teams moving along the M12 and M13 axis are now fully broken out of a bogged down operation.

Rather intense shelling along the M13 axis from Nazi forces caused a delay. 72 UMR soldiers were killed in the shelling, 200 injured and flown back to the UMR for treatment. Nazi shelling also hit civilian population routes with 32 confirmed dead. 14 APCs and 4 tanks were destroyed in this shelling.

Spartan special forces have been working hard to disrupt German supply lines as the shelling occurred. The utilization of TB2 drones on German supply lines enabled a slow down and ceasing of the strikes, enabling UMR forces to go once more on the offensive.

Cottbus, Bersteland and other villages in between have now largely been encircled and Nazi soldiers removed from service.

Welzow airport has also been secured, and is beginning to be utilized as a triage center for civilians who are being evacuated out of the areas south of Berlin.

The UMR Cyber Warfare is actively working on dismantling Nazi government websites, and accessing crucial infrastructure such as electricity. Moves are being made still in this area with some success. The website for the Reichstag was taken down and replaced with links to anti-fascist literature and links to UMR and Roman humanitarian aid phone numbers.

In the M12 axis, teams have secured Frankfurt an der Oder, with the bridges intact. Heavy shelling of Nazi positions west of the city is ongoing with HAS-10 and Dory Drone strikes occurring.

42 UMR soldiers were killed in the taking of the town, with an unknown amount of German soldiers KIA.

Goals for all BCT teams are to now connect along the M10 on its southern and east end sides, with Roman soldiers anticipated to be on the west side of it.

Across Germany, Missile strikes have hit military munition production facilities, army camps, and other Military infrastructure.

Having been bogged down before, the BCT teams are anticipated to keep moving along their respective Axis and liberating towns and villages, and clearing them.

Burg (Spreewald)
The 2nd Infantry Battalion, Crete. “The Minoan Warriors”

Supported by 5 Altay Tanks and several APCs and IFVs, The Minoan Warriors descended on an objective in the German town of Burg.

Most of the population had evacuated out of the city. Most went south, some went north. All that was left in the town was a German Armored Infantry battalion that has dug in.

The Minoans moved through the German country side and it’s winding roads. Up ahead they heard explosions as the TB2 drones above attacked targets. Intelligence said that the German Battalion was on the north end of the town.

The soldiers ride along until an explosion rips through the lead vehicle, leaving all 4 of the occupants dead. The vehicles pull off and evacuate the roadway as more explosions occur. Smoke now fills the road and the air. 2 German tanks have locked in on the column, hidden in the tree line.

6 men form up and decide to make a move on the tanks. They grab an anti tank weapon from a vehicle and go into the woods alongside the road. They duck down and move slowly as the tanks continue to engage the soldiers. They get closer and here German soldiers. Looking around a tree they see 10 German soldiers beginning to grab their gear.

One Minoan Warrior, PVT. First Class Rafail Koskas, grabs two grenades and throws them at the soldiers. The Germans try to run away but the grenades explode and shrapnel takes a few of them out. Koskas moves and opens up on the survivors. The tanks at this point stop firing and the lids open up. Koskas shoots at the Germans getting out. Another Minoan shoots an anti tank missile at one of the tanks, causing it to explode. Koskas runs up, hops on the other one and crawls up on it, and throws a dead Germans grenade into the tank and jumps off. The grenade explodes and kills the occupants.

Koskas and the other soldiers move back to the column.

“Koskas. You’re insane.”

“Yeah. You know, at least he’s on our side!” Another soldier quips.

Koskas smiles a bit and goes back to the vehicle he was in. His sergeant greets him and says good work.

“The Germans killed 7 of my family members on Crete back in the war, after they invaded Crete…this is for Crete and my family.” Koskas says to his sergeant.

Archer artillery units begin pounding the town. Orders have been given to now clear the town, block by block and route out the Nazi German Forces. The Minoan Warriors begin moving shortly after the dust settles of the artillery barrage.

Ministry of Foreign Affairs

The Argentine Republic is delighted to hear that a ceasefire in the Gran Colombian conflict has been implemented.

Our sincere gratitude goes to the chiefs of the FARC, ELN, and GCP organizations which have agreed to the cessation of armed hostilities, and the Gran Colombian Government as well.

The well-being of all Gran Colombians has prevailed today over ideological disputes, an outstanding first step in what will hopefully be a quick path to the permanent restoration of peace in Gran Colombia and Latin America by extension.

Our brother nations, which have been victims of unnecessary bloodshed throughout their histories, wish to prevent further loss of lives and will work tirelessly in our common quest for peace. Heartfelt thanks go as well in that regard, to Brazilian and Kyhunian authorities who have assisted in the implementation of this ceasefire.

Finally, we wish to invite delegates of the pertinent organizations, the Gran Colombian, Brazilian, and Kyhunian Governments to Buenos Aires, to begin preliminary discussions concerning possible drafts of a final peace instrument to the Gran Colombian conflict.

Argentina remains dedicated to the preservation of peace in our continent and will pursue all avenues which have a clear purpose of protecting Latin Americans from the plagues of division, armed violence, and destruction which have irreparably infected other nations around the world.

TANITHARI DEPARTMENT OF ECONOMICS REPORTS FINDINGS IN TRIPOLI-MIDDLE CLASS GROWS SUBSTANTIALLY

It has been several months now since the opening of new manufacturing plants in Tripoli, as part of the Capital Economic Revitalization Program (CERP), a large-scale investment spearheaded by President and former mayor of Tripoli Suleiman Alatar. The experiment consisted of a multi-billion dollar investment between several large international corporations to diversify the Tanithari economy outside of the current predominant sectors such as oil exports and tourism.
The majority of the factories have been specialized in computer parts, medical equipment, and automotive technology, implemented with hopes that such production would attract white-collar workers and investors to further cement the industries into Tripoli, and eventually all of Tanithar.
The increase in job availability has led to substantial growth for the middle class of Tripoli, with some neighborhoods reporting over 20% higher average income near factories.
The CERP is on track to expand to other cities, with Benghazi and Misrata as the next expected locations.

Rivinja

The Man in the Red Tie - Belgrade, Federal Republic of Rivinja

Soft petals flecked the grey sidewalk, intertwining their faint pinks and striking whites among the green moss that grew along the cracks and crevices of the brick. Lining the long walk which straddled the River Sava, the many scores of cherry blossoms unleashed their faint fragrances and thousands of petals upon unsuspecting passersby below. With each step, those who sauntered along the waterfront could, for the first time in forever, breathe a deep sigh of relief. Beneath these smiling trees whose well groomed branches bore an abundance of blossoms each year, there was nothing but peace and contentment.

Underneath one such tree walked Adam Despotovic, his monthly pilgrimage to the city of Belgrade to honor his fallen friend as somber as it was brief. Stopping mid-stride, Adam turned his attention to the river, its once rich azure waters now the color of a pigeon’s backside. Sighing, Adam gazed skyward, his hands buried deep in the pockets of his black windbreaker. The skies above were no brighter than the water. Dark, heavy rain clouds rested overhead just as they did across all of Rivinja. Yet there was never any rain despite their ominous presence. Just darkness and gloom.

Puckering his lips, his eyes then fell back to the green grass below. At least the plants had not lost their color, their dull shades still shining like miniscule beacons of hope across the small republic. Looking left, Adam then caught a glimpse of something he did not expect.

Sitting with his arm spread across the back of a park bench that overlooked the river, one leg folded neatly over the other, was the man with the red tie from Kotor. His mourner's clothes had disappeared, the mandatory black replaced with a grey suit, brown oxfords, and a red tie. His dark brown hair was combed ever so perfectly atop his ovular face. Gazing out over the river, the man appeared to be doing about as much as Adam was. That was to say, nothing.

The man then turned his gaze over his shoulder, making eye contact with Adam who quickly turned away. Clenching his teeth, Adam drew his attention towards the nearest cherry blossom, pretending to be interested in the many carvings left on its bark by teenagers and young lovers. Then, believing he was safe, he turned around only to find that the man in the red tie had moved and was now right beside him.

Jumping back Adam let out a small yelp, surprised by the man’s sudden appearance. “Oh, sorry,” the man said, a wide smile gracing his handsome face. “I didn’t mean to frighten you. You’re Minister Adam Despotovic, correct? Ministry of Foreign Affairs?” He held out his hand towards Adam, the minister’s eyes still wide with fright. “I’m Deputy Minister Radovan Markovic of Mining and Energy.” Adam’s eyes soon softened as he took Radovan’s hand and shook it. “It’s good to finally meet you. Minister Tatjana has been singing your praises ever since I started working for her year late last year.”

Adam nodded blankly along, his mind lost in Radovan’s eyes. “Yes, oh, um,” he paused, withdrawing his hand from their unusually lengthy handshake. “I can’t see why she’d do that,” he finally began once his train of thought had returned. “She and I used to work together as deputy ministers to President Zoric when he ran the Ministry of Environmental Protection. She used to call me ‘Prince Paperweight’ to mock her perceived usefulness of my work before she and I changed ministries when Zoric ran with, with…”

“With President Paskalev as VP?” Radovan said, his smile fading. “I’m sorry for your loss. Minister Tatjana must have taken his death about as hard as you have. For a time, I was afraid that she was never going to recover.”

“We may never.” Adam cleared his throat, racing to find any topic unrelated to his dead friend. “So, how did Tatjana come to appoint you as Deputy? She’s a hard woman to impress so you must have done something extraordinary.” He braced himself for an answer he may not like. Mining and Energy was a ministry run rampant with corruption and slackers. Everyone knew that the mining industries ran Rivinja’s economy and controlled her markets.

Radovan’s smile returned, pride welling up in every muscle used to create it. “I ran the ministry in the wake of, well, you know. Tatjana was preoccupied, as most ministers who worked with the late president were, so I, as her personal secretary, took command and ran the show until she got back on her feet.” His smile broadened. “She was so impressed with the work I’d done to keep the ministry together after the tragedy that she soon began the process of appointing me deputy minister. Two months later,” he spread his arms wide, “here we are.”

Adam sighed, relief washing over him as his fears of corruption and/or bribery fell away. Radovan’s position, much like that of Tatjana’s, was earned through hard work. Yet, he could not help but to feel saddened by the way in which he became the deputy minister. Everything appeared to tie itself back to the assassination. “A congratulations are in order,” Adam said, extending his hand with a warm smile. “For a job well done.”

“Thank you, Minister. That means a lot coming from you.” Radovan said, shaking Adam’s hand once more. Pulling his suit jacket closer to his body once they had let one another go, Radovan motioned towards a nearby line of stores and coffee shops. “Minister,” he began, eyeing the nearest cafe, “would you care to get coffee? It’s suddenly become rather chilly.”

Adam turned to glance at the row of shops then promptly looked down at his watch. His heart pounded deep within his chest and for some unknown reason his palms had become rather clammy after the second handshake. “I’m afraid not. I have an appointment with the Minister of Internal Affairs in twenty minutes and really should be going.”

“Yes, but it’s only just a coffee. Let me buy you something for the road. Minister Sainovic is not known for giving the best refreshments.” Radovan laughed. “Or for being brief when he speaks.”

Adam, charmed by Radovan’s knowledge of the cabinet, nodded his head. “Alright. Something for the road wouldn’t hurt.” Together they made their way into the cafe where Radovan bought Adam a simple cup of dark roast coffee. As he walked out of the cafe, Radovan left sitting alone at a table near the window, he glanced down at the cup. Such a simple gesture, he thought, taking a sip of the dark liquid. He turned his head back around, catching a glimpse of Radovan through the window as he unfolded a copy of the Danas newspaper. Grinning from ear to ear he faced forward once more, his eyes locked on the simple cup of coffee. And yet it means so much.
