The Most Catholic Diarchy of Miklania It wouldn't. Segentova and Nurbaria |
The Unified Electorates of Ainslie Dormill and Stiura, Almorea, Nhoor, and Nurbaria |
Those same adult voted Trump into office, just saying. And even if they figure it out, fooling a machine that tracks the electric impulses of the brain is exponentially more difficult than one that monitors sweating and heart rate. And here is the kicker, there is no way the close family of someone that is guilty of a crime wouldn't be aware that he is at least doing something that he shouldn't be doing, thus, making them de-facto conspirators. And again, if You have a way to exert the same kind of consequences without punishing their families, do tell. The example with the cookies is exactly what it is. How can You expect someone that wouldn't discipline their own child's dishonest behavior to discipline an entire nation? Yes, I am aware of the offshore accounts that rich people have. Now we are getting in the realm of international relations. Such accounts should be made illegal, but I digress. Corruption and bribes will only exist as long as the system allows it. And the system currently allows it even from the most basic forms of the education system. With other words, a permament sollution would be to completely rebuild the entire structure of the country from the bottom up. And no, I would never take a bribe. In fact, I would rather loose my job than take a bribe. Either I have something wrong with me or it's nature vs nurture. Which opens the "can we nurture the next generations to have a high level of integrity" question. Now Please, Do give alternative solutions. And I am sorry about my formatting. Now, gun ownership is a great example of too much freedom is bad for freedom. |
The Most Catholic Diarchy of Miklania These are some wonderful hot takes. Segentova, Alteran Republics, and Nurbaria |
you're reading those? Ioudaia and Serpens land |
The Federated States of Domanania people read? |
The Independent Colony of Hospitaller West Indies wait you guys are people? |
The Unified Electorates of Ainslie we're all lizards |
Then, how about this. The Spurs which lie off the west coast of South Argus are a perfect place for pirate activity, they are perfectly located in what should be a major trade route. This would be a perfect base for Somali/Malaya type pirates. Your nation, the Swashbucklers anyway could clandestinely finance and profit from this activity, providing a black market for valuables, while officially condemning the activity. You still let the pirate elements get their thrills and don’t get stomped as a country. Ioudaia, Dormill and Stiura, Roendavar, Serpens land, and 1 otherHospitaller West Indies |
I work with Customer Service. I can confirm people are incapable to read. Domanania, Alteran Republics, and Shidei |
The Unified Electorates of Ainslie that'd be smart Hospitaller West Indies being a secretary in twi should be enough to let you confirm that Domanania, Wellsia, Roendavar, Serpens land, and 1 otherHospitaller West Indies |
No worries on the formatting, it just made it harder for me to go through everything. I'm not here to give alternative solutions, I'm here to look at what you proposed |
I have my capital set on the peak, and when we ship things out we just roll them down the hill to get to the other settlements. I've been hella slacking on my nation building and really need to get back to that. I have a bunch of ideas rattling around the ol' idea jar, I just need to stake out some time maybe this weekend to add something |
The Elective Kingdom of Ioudaia Now somebody's thinking! See, smart criminals, of which there are fortunately few IRL, figure out how to get away with their crimes before committing them. For sovereign nations, plausible deniablity is a big help. The Spurs are a good place to be, not only because of the Argusian Main, but because there are also nearby nations that might provide safe havens for pirates... for a price. Unofficially, of course, and possibly legitimately, either because the pirates have solid cover stories* and/or because they're bribing corrupt local officials. Which the national government is of course committed to rooting out. *: For example, those interested in buckling their swashes might tend to hit ships carrying valuable but untraceable commodities (crude oil and common fuels) and they happen to have an old coastal tanker (or three) to which they can transfer the loot and sell it on the commodities markets without attracting attention. Or inside jobs involving swiping cargo containers carrying phones or other easily fenceable electronics, and ditching them on nearby black markets. Or... Well, you get the idea. But the Knights Hospitalier appear to have their hands clean, and like all true Christian knights, swear up and down that any pirates will be hanged as a send-off to a warm reception in Hell. *nods* Miklania, Dormill and Stiura, Roendavar, Doravo, and 2 othersSerpens land, and Hospitaller West Indies |
Of course (I'd say that we have seen some great examples in the last two weeks :p ) but TWI is a hobby so I grant people a certain liberty to read or not read the information that will help them survive here as it won't be a matter of life and death in the end (although there is a risk of the various parties involved getting frustrated). I'd say however that customers who need a professional certification to be able to advance in their work instead of having to face the prospect of being fired, will benefit from reading our terms and conditions as well as all relevant information about said certification, but it is as if people don't even possess basic survival instinct anymore :) |
The Independent Colony of Hospitaller West Indies That’s a great idea, thank you. So what I’m making from this is while specifically the Swashbucklers can profit from this activity, meanwhile the Order would obviously be strongly against it, and condemn it. This way while the swashbucklers make a profit for the country, not everyone hates our country because the Order is in charge, and condemns this activity. |
The Independent Colony of Hospitaller West Indies Message from the Order: If any country captures someone with relations to our country who was caught performing acts of piracy, please return them to the Hospitaller West Indies so they can be tried and gibbeted. |
This way you can include your favorite pastime as an on going RP, as law enforcement agencies try to stop the illegal sale of goods, a special jewel or national treasure gets stolen and has to be retrieved without any one finding out. There are a dozen different scenarios that could work out from pirates in the Spurs. |
Still a tie between 3 flags! If you haven't yet vote! |
The Independent Colony of Hospitaller West Indies You will now have the flag of Åland |
The Estral Republic of Aizcona Exciting Would we want to see any other kind of takes? haha |
I wanted a different one |
Oh it's tied again |
