The Holy Empire of Rhaeme is a tiny, safe nation, renowned for its compulsory military service and state-planned economy. The devout population of 16 million Rhaemans are fiercely patriotic and enjoy great social equality; they tend to view other, more capitalist countries as somewhat immoral and corrupt.

The medium-sized, socially-minded government juggles the competing demands of Defense, Spirituality, and Administration. The average income tax rate is 38.6%, but much higher for the wealthy.

The weak Rhaeman economy, worth 499 billion Autrios a year, is driven entirely by a combination of government and state-owned industry, with private enterprise illegal. The industrial sector is led by the Arms Manufacturing industry, with major contributions from Tourism, Information Technology, and Beef-Based Agriculture. Average income is 31,203 Autrios, and distributed extremely evenly, with practically no difference between the richest and poorest citizens.

Euthanasia is legal, voting is voluntary, military spending is on the increase, and the government confiscates candy from babies for 'the greater good' of the nation. Crime, especially youth-related, is totally unknown, thanks to a capable police force and progressive social policies in education and welfare. Rhaeme's national animal is the Imperial Eagle, which soars majestically through the nation's famously clear skies.

Rhaeme is ranked 108,662^nd in the world and 198^th in Forest for Most Compassionate Citizens, scoring 44.28 on the Kitten Softness Rating.
