For those who still remember the “male state”updates. Russian justice eventually did recognise it as an extremist organisation recently banning all of their official online platforms.

DMedia News Headline: Daarwyrth Dies Another Day?

Extraordinary news from Daarwyrthian scientists sweeps across Forest today, as during a press conference at the Royal Daarsted University a team of brilliant minds within the field of cellular biology announced a major breakthrough regarding the cellular cycle. During the event, Prof. dr. Than Othos revealed a stunning new theory that explains the mechanisms behind cellular decay and regeneration, and the potential to arrest this cycle, which might have far-reaching effects in this field of study. The revelation sparked many questions on the nature of the discovery and what had led the scientists to it, yet perhaps more pressingly, it led to the expression of concerns about the potential dangers of tampering with the cellular cycle in such a profound way. Prof. dr. Othos dismissed most of these concerns as "science fiction that the writers of a TV show played around with", presumably referencing Daarwyrth's hit series from 2010 The Dead Walkers. The scientist then concluded the press conference with an invitation to the scientific communities of Forest to collaborate with his team, to bring the new theory to life with further study and research. As expected, this led to harsh criticism from the Sovereignty Bloc, whose party leader Gylene vyn Wylden professed that "Daarwyrth should not give its scientific knowledge and expertise away so willingly to those who would surely squander it, especially with study and research that could benefit the lives of all Daarwyrthers".

In the aftermath of the press conference, the scientific team from the Royal Daarsted University released several key papers and studies on their research to the wider scientific community for further peer review. It remains to be seen what new insights will be sparked from this extraordinary revelation, and it has made all of us ask ourselves whether immortality and eternal youth have been brought one step closer, and whether we might actually live to see and experience it.

Dear Chetzo,

I can't believe this is really happening! The joint project with Daarwyrth is going ahead! You'll have seen the news, the vote was 139-71, but you should have been in the council. I wish you could have seen the look on Ndayo and Chang and all the other old timers, the ones who hold onto their positions because of parroting Party opinions rather than because of science. They gave endless speeches about who we shouldn't cooperate with. You know how it goes, capitalism this, imperialism that, monarchies the other. And nobody listened! People are finally realising that science isn't about borders and politics. Right now it feels like we're having a revolution of our own, and it's the turn of the old revolutionaries to be swept away.

So it's really happening. We're publishing all our results openly like we should have done in the first place, and we'll be testing our model together with the Othos mechanism. You were in at the beginning Chitzo, and I know you must have seen the same thing. The Othos mechanism is the missing piece that would have allowed us to complete Project Lazarus and really start to regenerate dead cells. The possibilities! I miss those days so much and I wish you hadn't taken that Fellowship in Garbelia, but you were all about international cooperation even then. I know you'll be able to get your lab involved in the project, you just have to!

I have to go, there's so much to do. My head's spinning! I've just had a set of boring emails from the People's Committe for Ethics and Oversight but I deleted them all. I'm through with the old guard telling us what we can and can't do!

Send me all your news, and love always,

Adelia

Retired ALF militant speaks of the horrors of the Amazonian Civil War, to speak at ICC court case against Jair Bolsonaro

This is Rodrigues Neto, a retired Amazon Liberation Front (ALF) fighter who fought in the civil war that gave Nation of Ecologists its independence. It occurred between 2022-2026 and took the lives of over 200,000 people. "I saw entirely villages burned to the ground by the Brazilian army, entire forests doused in gasoline and sent into flames without a care. It was a horrible war, it took the lives of my children and parents." Neto will be speaking at an International Criminal Court case against Brazilian President Jair Bolsonaro, who is being accused of committing war crimes during the war, including the harming of civilians and the destruction of civilian settlements, among other things. If found guilty, he will be sentenced to 15 years in ICC's new prison and not be eligible to run for political office again. Here is the rest of our interview with Neto:

"Why did you originally join the ALF?" "When Jair was fraudulently re-elected in 2022, I knew he was going to try and get rid of the Amazon. I grew up in a small village in Amazonas, I was connected in every way to the rainforest. I heard that there were riots in Manaus, and that war was going to break out. The ALF did a recruiting drive in my village, and I joined without hesitation. I did not like fighting, but I would fight if it was to protect my people and my forest."

"Some people say that when there was a forest fire, you tried to evacuate the animals from the area. Is this true?" "Yes, I remember one time they set ablaze a forest that was in a national park, and while fleeing we found 2-3 baby jaguars in a den near the path of the fire. So we rescued them and raised them, and have now been released back to the wild just last year. It was a lighter moment in the war for sure."

"And finally, do you think Bolsonaro will be found guilty" "Well, he is definitely guilty, that is for sure. But knowing him, he will either bribe a judge or pull some strings and be found innocent. But, I will try my hardest and hopefully I will get justice for people he killed, the animals he killed and the forest he burned."

"Thank you for your time Rodrigues" "My pleasure"

Official Lore Department Post

Hello nations of Forest!

I am pleased to announce that after a few-week hiatus, following N-Day and the Forest Keeper Elections, our RPs are finally back!

As I’m sure many of you know, Forest’s two recent RPs, “Occupy Forest” and “the Forest EcoCON”, are merging. That’s right. These two RPs, which we both set around the same time and which had been subtly influencing each other for a while, are merging together into one combined storyline. This merge happened once Shira Meron, the de facto leader of the Occupy Forest movement, made a powerful speech calling on the protestors to peacefully storm and “occupy” the Forest EcoCON conference in First Creek Falls.

We will begin this combined climax right about where they had left off, on the in-character afternoon of September 27th 2021. The rules will be the same; namely, this RP is Forest-only, mostly Modern Tech, Human-only, and meant to be relatively realistic. The only change to the rules will be that no new people may join, i.e. you may only participate in this combined climax if you have posted for either the Forest EcoCON or Occupy Forest RPs previously.

I will be linking the IC threads for the Forest EcoCON and Occupy Forest here, and I will also copy the final post for each of them here on the new combined thread. I will also be making an OP here too, just too establish some other details of what exactly this climax will be like.

I’m really excited to share this with all of you, and after months of waiting finally get to experience the climax, the endgame, the showdown, all the threads coming together. I’ll be excited to see how the different characters will interact: activists, diplomats, spies, national leaders, CEOs, pirates, and how all of the different story threads that we have been creating will weave together.

Will Lau Pupmin be welcomed back home in Jutsa, or will she and her dog forever remain left-wing outcasts in FASHIST’s laissez-faire regime? Will Madeline Zylkoven successfully integrate Daarwyrth into the international community and work with the rest of the world to decarbonize, or will Daarwyrth forever remain isolated and alone as the seas rise around it? Will Vyd get hopelessly lost in the city after he runs away from the scary supposedly-necromantic Chan Islanders, or will he overcome his trepidation and end up going on a food and architecture tour of the city with the pirates? Will Roven end up getting their wish for solar-powered ships, or will Juna and Roven be stuck at their booth nonstop for the next few days as protestors block the entrance? Will Kitsi the Boani spy and Captain Bluebeard the window-climbing pirate successfully radicalize and arm the protestors, or will they have to seek asylum in First Creek Falls to escape the wrath of the Analysis and the Pirate Death God? And what will happen to Shira Meron, Iris Dubois, King Solomon, Marc Nuya, Chloë Arborn, Thalia Lemaire, Asher Ben-Itamar, Alphonse Martí, and all of the other characters from Middle Barael?

Find out the answers to all of these questions, and more, in the finale you’ve all (hopefully) been waiting for: Occupy the Forest EcoCON!

Here is the link to the new thread for the RP: viewtopic.php?f=5&t=511491

Please note that this is not in any way connected to any of the in-character posts made on the RMB in recent days, as those are all considered separate from the “official-ish” canon for the RPs and the UoF.

Scientists announce international collaboration, discredited by universities

Today, the Garbelery science community was shocked, as 'rogue' researchers from the University of Garvida announced they would be collaborating with similar teams from Daarwyrth and Uan aa Boa. So far, the renegades have not disclosed their intentions, but the more open pioneers in Uan aa Boa have hinted that it could involve research on reversing cellular senescence, or simply anti-aging cells. Many prominent public figures in Garbelia have expressed outrage at the idea, and threaten sanctions, although it is understood that the governments of other participants are more acceptant of this potential new breakthrough.

I was just kidding :) I'm sure it'll be fine, and it was more just pointing out the similarity of names than anything else.

something we hadn't realized in cameroi, or at least i hadn't until now, that small robotic pets, were being counted a part of our population totals. this would explain their inflation, as these small mechanical creatures outnumber sapient organic people by something like five to one if not a vert great deal more. perhaps this is how we are still able, most of us, to live in small, semi-isolated, though extreamly high tech, villages. despite constantly seeing these seemingly unbelievable population figures.

these small friendly mechanical creatures can be found almost everywhere, some even occasionally performing useful functions, but mostly providing companionship and amusement to children of all ages.

somehow also, they have managed to not have displaces actual, organic living creatures, great and small, and the nearly infinite diversity of them.

The Bureaudirectic Union of Jutsa

Alright, I know I keep asking questions that don't seem to get much interest (I'm aware you all have other things going on / being discussed), but I do genuinely have four questions for the lot of you to discuss. :P

Before I bring them up though, I'll open it with an explanation of the first suggestion. So, what would everyone think about a centralized forum thread for government suggestions? They wouldn't be activity suggestions or "unofficial" projects as I'd encourage you to just go ahead with doing those things (lest you want something officialized or routine). Instead, they'd be more like critiques of the government and how it's run, things you'd like us to change / improve upon, additions you'd like to see added that you yourself might not be up to or comfortable with putting together, and overarching policy decisions like constitutional amendments, embassies, etc.

I don't want to overextend my shelf, and as such anything that doesn't immediately relate to furthering democracy or anti-corruption measures would otherwise likely remain as prominent suggestions that'd require further deliberation (by Forest as a whole including the shelf*). Other than that, I'd still FULLY encourage anyone to post their suggestions/discussions* on discord/the RMB, telegram me (or the shelf*), or make their own forum threads (I'm all too aware however that many of us primarily or solely use the RMB for communication). That said, I would still - at least try to - put any suggestions I see made elsewhere onto the thread, all so folks can deliberate on the issues and see them all in one centralized place at any given time. It would also be a good forum for folks to comment on others' comments, without disrupting the normal ebbs and flows of the Forest discord or RMB. (I'll be sure to remind everyone to keep things civil, of course!)

So, the four questions I ask you all ARE:
1) Any thoughts on a centralized forum thread for suggestions and government policy/action critiques? (and discussion on those criqitues)
2) Any thoughts on the anthem idea I mentioned a few days ago? (Still not sure about that one myself, but that's all the more reason to run it by you all xD)
3) Do you still feel like we should discuss closing embassies with Sunalaya?
and 4) Where on (or off) Earth would you like me to donate money to when I get it? (I recall one suggestion I'll have to search through but I can't remember off-hand.)

Many thanks in advance, and otherwise I'll leave you all to whatever scenarios be ongoing at this time. (At least until next week.)

The United Sovereign Queendoms of Rhodevus

1) A centralized thread to read all current and past government policies and actions is always a good thing in my book. As long as the opening post of the thread is used as a table of contents and is updated as things progress, so that the thread doesn't become a mess of senseless scrolling in order to find things.

2) Could be a cool idea.

3) As a very long time past member of Sunalaya, I'd be sad to see it go, but at the same time, the region mostly self-imploded and is nowhere near as active as it was in its hay day. We used to have upwards of 200+ messages a day 24/7.

4) Coalition for Rainforest Nations. An intergovernmental charity organization, ranked 94.74 (4 stars) by charitynavigator.org. Just as the name suggests, it helps maintain rainforests.

The Wetlands Initiative. An American charity that helps create new wetlands in the USA. Has a perfect 100 ranking on charity navigator, and as a bonus, all donations are tax deductible.

I've been looking into this one. I didn't know you had a past there (P.S. is there a way to see which regions a nation has previously "visited")....since we don't have an ambassador for Sunalaya and I don't think they have appointed one to us either communications seems to be virtually non-existent. If you want to try and "save" the relationship there is a vacant embassy with potentially your name on it. Otherwise I would suggest closing it as there seems to be no longer any valuable interaction between the 2 regions and our efforts perhaps even yours to reinvigorate the relationship in my opinion are perhaps better focused elsewhere.

The Equatorial Forests of Uan aa Boa

The People's Assembly has conferred the Order of Mazemba on Dr Adelia Akande of Kingolo University
The award follows widely publicised developments in her work on modifying the aging process of human cells in a collaborative project with scientists from Daarwyrth and Garbelia.

Dr Akande has been a researcher in cellular biology at the university since completing her doctoral thesis there 8 years ago. In that thesis she noted how a previously unknown bacteria acted on human cells it colonised in a way that inhibited the process by which genetic material stops producing proteins, causing the cell to age and eventually die. The award citation notes that this bacteria had been discovered in a previously uncatalogued species of nemotode found during a field study deep in the wetlands of the Uan basin, and that this shows the sometimes unexpected benefits of the assertive conservation measures deployed in Uan aa Boa to preserve wild areas.

Dr Akande's thesis was regarded as interesting by the scientific community but no great breakthroughs followed and she eventually moved on to other projects. Then came a publication by Prof Dr Than Othos of the Royal Daarsted University which proposed a radical new way of modelling the cellular decay cycle. Dr Akande immediately recognised the connection to her earlier work and was instrumental in setting up the 3 nation collaboration to develop the ideas, a previously unprecedented level of information sharing that has been widely praised.

Studies running concurrently in all 3 nations are believed to have created a genetically modified bacterium that uses the Othos mechanism to have a stronger version of the effect first noted in those strange bacteria from the Boani swamps. Last week a leaked report from Kingolo University suggested that the trials were succeeding not only in slowing the rate at which cells age and decay, but that actual necrotic tissue was being made to function again. The university has declined to officially comment, but both Othos and Akande have told interviewers that they are cautiously optimistic and described the progress of the trials as "surprising."
