General Assembly Announcement:Special Committee Bill has FAILED the General Assembly with three votes for, three votes against and with 1 abstention (3-3-1).
Ghillemear - AGAINST, "CSI part 3, Electronic Committee! This time, with extra conscription! "
Kavagrad - ABSTAIN, "While I applaud both the strong legislative writing and the thinking behind the bill (and I think there's a future in which this definitely has legs) I cannot quite bring myself to vote in favour at this time. I do not believe that the GA, nor TLA's political scene as a whole, has the activity to sustain this sort of model at present. With that said, as a staunch opponent of CSI (perhaps more so than anyone else in TLA), I don't agree with the comparison between the two. I am willing to revisit my view on this in future if there is the legislative activity to justify it. "
New Flamington - AGAINST, "Podria covered lots of my points but I shall sum up my reasoning. I don't see this being used much and when it is used it seems like a lot of bureaucracy for little goal. Also, stuff like this has been tried and hasn't worked so I don't see why we should try again."
Podria - AGAINST, "While I wish I could say this just wouldn’t get used and would be another odd clause in the CoL that would be removed in a few years’ time, I don’t think that’s true. Instead, I think this will be used poorly and is attempting to get increased democratic buy-in where it’s both not needed and not helpful. We are a representative democracy and the very very few times the government has strayed from the will of the people, there has been swift and decisive action (see my term as Vice Secretary or the recent MoWAA debacle for citation) against it. Put simply, this is a bad idea that has been tried in a different form before and just doesn’t work because either A) You’re going to get no volunteers or worse, B) you’re going to get volunteers who know nothing about our system of government and through lack of experience and knowledge will slow down the government and waste the time of our dear Assemblia. "
Sauros - FOR, "I believe this bill is common-sense and allows more public perspective to be taken into consideration on more controversial legislation; while it can increase public input on legislation which member-nations feel goes too far or does not go far enough. "
The Grand Union Kingdom - FOR, "I believe this will allow the GA to function better by allowing committees to review passed legislation and by holding hearings to help the public interact more with the GA and have there voices hard on issues that are important to them."
Yong - FOR, "I think it’s an interesting idea and help keep the non-government nations involved and interactive with the region"

Assuming you’re talking about an endorsement cap (as I remember y’all complaining about this in TCB), yes we do. You can find info about how it all works here:
The RoSE program is overseen by Secretary Marxist Land of Peoples and is designed to engage citizens of The Leftist Assembly in the game mechanic of endorsements. Here are some important definitions to get you started:
World Assembly (WA) - An international body of nations like the real-life United Nations; the two bodies in the WA are the General Assembly (makes non-binding laws on all matters from health to schools) and the Security Council (commends and condemns specific nations/regions)
Endorsement - World Assembly members are able to give an 'endorsement' to other World Assembly members residing in their region as a virtual 'thumbs-up'; if you're a citizen of our region, then that means you can endorse your fellow comrades in TLA
Delegate - The nation with the most endorsements in a region is automatically assigned the position of 'Delegate' to the World Assembly; in TLA, we often use this interchangeably with 'Secretary' as that is the formal title of our leader who is bound by our Constitution to be the Delegate
Influence - Influence is a census statistic like any of the other ones you might already have seen (e.g. Civil Rights, Corruption), and it is gained by having a higher number of endorsements
How can I participate?
Getting involved in the RoSE program is a simple three-step process that will reap many benefits for you:
We have some handy tools to guide you along each step of the way - just follow the dispatches in this RoSE program series to learn more or ask a question on the Regional Message Board.
Why should I participate?
Vote in regional elections and referendums and run for regional government; being a member of the World Assembly is essential for these as it confirms that people aren't operating multiple accounts to gain more power
Make a name for yourself; the more nations you endorse, the more Influence you accumulate and the more endorsements you will typically earn in return, allowing for more people to get familiar with you (which might be useful if you run for a position in our regional government!)
Give our region a bigger voice on the world stage; each endorsement of our Secretary gives them an extra vote to better represent our interests when voting on World Assembly proposals!
Earn special RoSE Awards and engage in friendly competition with your fellow Assemblians on the regularly-updating RoSE statistics page
Important things to remember
You can only join the World Assembly with one nation at a time; if you join with more than one, you could be banned for a given period of time, restricting the benefits we just previously mentioned above
You can not exceed and should not endorse others who are over the endorsement cap - see below for what applies to you (hint: endorse the Secretary to be allowed more endorsements!)
There is no shortage of assistance waiting to answer your questions if this is all too confusing for you; ask a question on the Regional Message Board or telegram Secretary Marxist Land of Peoples - we will be happy to help out!
Endorsement cap
The endorsement cap is the maximum number of endorsements you are permitted to have to ensure the security of the Delegacy
It is set at 80% of the Secretary's endorsements if you are endorsing them or 20% if you are not
The endorsement cap automatically updates daily so keep an eye on this to see what applies to you:
In real life Iowa is about 64.3% urbanized as of 2018. Which is a huge jump from where we were according to 1990-2010 Census data. Now in character my Iowa would be hard to determine. Communization of farming would probably reverse the drain on farm workers and attract more people to rural work again. However the level of devastation caused by the Revolution could have forced urbanization to a very high rate until infrastructure and the like is repaired outside the main cities. Good question to help me think about as I build up lore.
Okay, well everyone has to follow it whether they “like” it or not, as it’s extremely important for regional security. There’s no point continuing to complain about it.

:NONE OF US ARE FREE FROM THE WEST THEORY:
Everyday, no matter how much theory we read, no matter how much we reject liberalism, not matter how much we devout ourselves to Marx, Lenin, Stalin, Mao, Hoxha, Ho Chi Minh, Che, Castro, all the anti-revisionist greats, we will never be free from Western values.
The west is so ingrained in us, that we will always be revisionist. If you're a white person in the Global North, you're revisionist because you are surrounded by the west and neoliberalism and due to your position of privileges and history of supremacy, you can never fully be anti-revisionist because your perception is obscured by your stance and the fact that you're in the imperial core, and you can't get rid of it.
If you're first generation, same to you, your entire life is obscured by neoliberalism, on top of the racism hosted upon you. You are assimilated since day one of your life, no matter we much you reject western society, no matter how much theory we read (as I am also a Hispanic with some elements of Mayan in me, tiny amount), no matter what, we are assimilated and absorbed by western values.
Heck, even in the East, just simply being exposed to English or using primarily English websites makes you revisionist, because the mere presence of the West, makes you no longer able to be anti-revisionist. The West's tentacles, even from wars and coups passed, are hooked in all of us. As long as the West exists, none of us will ever be anti-revisionist. The ideas of liberalism, of Great Man Theory, of competition, are so entrenched in the world, that being exposed to it, turns us revisionist.
And even after the West falls and the socialist republic is establish, based on Dialectics, a piece of liberalism and to a large extension, the West, will always live on in our new socialist society, and the new socioeconomic system after that, and the other after that, until the universe dies out.
WE. WILL. NEVER. BE. FREE. FROM. THE. WEST.
Anyway, this is a theory I've been thinking about for a while now, what do you guys, gals, and non-hetero/cis-gender pals think?
Man, she is such a comrade, no other person has been so based in the history of 4ever to allow their grave to be used as a gender-neutral bathroom! Marx would be proud of her!!1!

My feedback is this position comes across as being based on sweeping generalisations and essentialist ideas about race and language, which are made without any evidence. And the conclusion seems like it could be summarised as “anyone with any degree of contact with “the West” (and what do you mean by this) or the English language is permanently revisionist”. In which case, 99% of the world is now locked in as anti-revisionist and there’s no point pursuing revolution. Just my feedback on what was presented.
I wasn't trying to push for a racialized view (I swear I ain't a Fascist), when I mean 'West', I mean austerity, neoliberalism, white supremacy, segregation, the whole imperial core, pushing for 'progressive ideas' (i.e. companies putting black lives matter while exploiting Africans in the Congo) without class-based analysis and with western chauvinism attached to it as well (i.e. "look at all these filthy savages without 50% of their white CEOs not being gay", that short of stuff).
And I came to this conclusion by looking at my own little neighborhood. Here, even the most ardent communists here, (which is rare, since you know, Florida) tend to skew into revisionism and cia-based propaganda, even by supposed 'Marxists' (I seriously had this one acquittance of mine criticize anti-imperialist struggles because of 'economic concerns').
I then did research on the topic and found just how bad some other communists in other countries were, almost to the point where I thought they were just Westerners in disguise, so I came to the conclusion that the West is inescapable, based on the works of Gramsci's Hegemony Theory.
But I see that my ideas were too racialized and essentialist, so, I shall recant it. Thank you for your feedback.
RE: "pushing for 'progressive ideas'" There is something to be said about the false catharsis of participating in social change through the heavily-marketed act of consumption. This is what I'd consider one of many forms of control of advanced late-stage capitalism, which is pervasive in the first world/west, but not exclusive to it. They'll sell us the red flags and the Billy Bragg albums and the Leninade, the subversive books and films and games, and the entire socialist aesthetic, and in the end realize that we're not going to do anything about it. Because we feel like we did.
I feel as though this same attitude extends to neoliberal austerity. As long as we have some skeletal semblance of socioeconomic support, no matter how ineffectual it is, we will be placated. Struggle in political battles to improve it, maybe, but as long as it exists for optics we will never take up arms. We can see this with minimum wage in the US: the fight for $15 is heralded as some victory, nevermind that it's an outdated figure.
