If Gorbachev ruled for longer he'd probably do better. Though the thugs of Yeltsin destroyed the USSR. Gorbachev, in my opinion at least, the most democratic soviet leader.
NOTING the lack of personal, civil and political freedom upheld by the tyrannical regime of Francisco Rabata and the National Communist Party,
REALIZING that said lack of freedom will always lead to capitalistic degeneracy,
KNOWING that the only true way to the Workingman's freedom is through the worker himself, and no Red Bureaucracy,
ACKNOWLEDGING the swift and undeniable devolution of California into a State Capitalist Regime,
THE CALIGRAD SYNDICATE OF WORKERS IN COLLABORATION WITH THE LIBERTARIAN SOCIALIST MILITIA HEREBY DECLARES THE OCCUPATION OF CALIGRAD CITY TO BE PUT UNDER DIRECT WORKER CONTROL
An Ultimatum with the following conditions will be the only way to advert worker revolt. Should the State comply with the following demands, the occupation will end. If not, the worker will show his might:
1. The devolution of cities into worker-controlled syndicates
2. The establishment of a National Union of Labor to protect worker rights
3. The immediate transfer of all government and private assets into the hands of the national Union of Labor
4. The destruction of a centralized economy in favor of a Confederation of Syndicates or Unions
5. The establishment of Worker Oversight Committees and direct democracy in all Unions and Syndicates
6. The destruction of the position of Premier in favor of a Syndicate Congress of Representatives that will act as a limited power minarchist state.
7. The establishment of measures to protect civil, political and speech rights.
8. The ability for all citizens to own firearms.
9. The destruction of the federal military in favor of Worker Militias.
10. The ability for any able citizen to enlist in said militias, but no conscription required.
IF SAID DEMANDS ARE NOT MET TO ESTABLISH A SOCIETY OF LIBERTY FOR THE WORKER, THE WORKER WILL NOT COMPLY FOR WORK!
Personally, I think the west hates socialism more than they hate planned economy, they would rather see a country that's planned economy corporatist rather than market socialist, however I also agree on the part that market socialism's effectiveness are often times repeated by liberals who prefers idealism rather than materialism, and can be a hindrance for entering into class theories and Marxism.
Basically, no matter what socialist ideology you choose, it is generally a good idea to read a little bit of Marx, Engels, Lenin, etc before getting into the theory of your preferred ideology. (With the emphasis on also learning the theory of your preferred ideology due to how often people preferred an ideology due to taking someone else's word for it)
TL;DR : Don't choose an ideology just because you've heard it from someone or because of the Aesthetics, read some theories first
General Assembly Announcement:Ambassador Act Amendment (Requested Dismissal) has now moved to vote within the General Assembly. All discussion by the public has been noted and will be taken into account by Members of the General Assembly while voting; results will be returned in a maximum of 48 hours.
And to add to that, don't merely choose an ideology. Socialism is not some à la carte belief system here, it's a model for a different society. What distinguishes the roleplayers from the revolutionaries? What we do and how we live our lives. Anybody can choose an identity, but if in the end it doesn't change how we spend our time, how are we any different than someone who continues to contribute to consumer capitalism?
