Welcome to Aesica!

Aesica is a democratic region founded on the 24th of September 2025. Aesica is a mixed Presidential-Parliamentary republic combining elements of a classic Presidential system and a Westminster-Parliamentary one. Aesica features the legislative supremacy and bicameralism of a Westminster system, but the independently elected executive leadership of a Presidential system - bound together by its uncodified constitution.

Our region has a seven member House of Representatives and five member Senate, which together make laws for the region, as well as a World Assembly Delegate, who serves as the Head of State and Government, appointing Ministers confirmed by the Senate to lead our region. Our region has a vibrant map-based roleplay, set in
the Ashes of an Empire. With over 50 active roleplayers to interact with, our map is one of the most active in the world.

Our vibrant community is accessible to anyone on both our Link Regional Discord Server and our Regional Message Board. Our Discord and Regional Message Board are linked, enabling anyone on our highly-active Discord to see messages on the RMB as they come in live - so drop a message anywhere and someone will see it and be up for a chat!

We are a new and open community at just a year old, welcome to all with many opportunities to get involved! Our Delegate and Senate are elected every four months, and the House is elected every two months, so new elections are always right around the corner. Newcomers are warmly welcomed in Aesica! Aesica has one of the highest endorsement averages in the world, helping you build your influence quicker than other regions, all in a cozy space that's not too crowded. If you've just joined NationStates or are coming from elsewhere, there's a place for you in our community.

First Steps

  • Become a Citizen: Becoming a citizen in Aesica is easier than anywhere else! All you need to do is join the World Assembly, NationStates's governing body. By joining the World Assembly, you get to vote on international law, and become a citizen of Aesica, enabling you to vote in Aesica's elections.

    1. The World Assembly sends a confirmation email to your real life email to join. You can check to make sure your email is correct in Settings. Once you've done that, head to the World Assembly and click "Apply to Join".

    2. Head to your real email and click on the link to confirm your membership.

    3. Welcome to the World Assembly! All you need to do to become a citizen is endorse our Delegate, Alesina, by clicking Endorse Alesina on their nation page. They'll be sure to endorse you back, too - if you haven't noticed endorsements coming in already!

  • Block Recruitment Telegrams: You're probably getting a little tired of all the spam messages asking you to join their regions. But it's quick and easy to make these messages go away forever:

    1. Go to Telegram Preferences and click "Block All" under Recruitment.

    2. Click on "Apply Filter" and you're done! No more spam mail through your doorstep.

Government

The government of Aesica is led by the World Assembly Delegate Alesina, who is elected every 4 months. The Delegate is the head of state and government of Aesica, similar to a President. The Delegate appoints Ministers, signs and vetoes new laws passed by Congress, and submits international treaties to the Senate. The Delegate selects Ministers for Domestic Affairs, Foreign Affairs, Cultural Affairs, Communications, and World Assembly Affairs. They are helped by their Vice Delegate Vivianne. Politics

Our Congress is one of very few elected legislatures in NationStates, comprising both the 7-seat House of Commons elected every 2 months, and 5-seat Senate elected every 4 months. Anyone can submit a law to Congress, but the members are the ones who vote on them. Laws need the approval of both chambers of Congress! The Delegate can call for the early dissolution of Congress. In an election, Congress is elected by party-lsit: you choose the party that you want to vote for, and they receive a proportion of seats according to how many votes they received. Once elected, Congress elects their own leaders - these are the current leaders of Congress:

Are you interested in becoming a Member of Congress? All citizens can run for election in Aesica. Here's how to get involved:

  1. Become a citizen of Aesica.

  2. Join any Registered Political Party by messaging their leader.

  3. Ask your party's leader to run in the next election as a candidate, and they'll tell you their party's details.

Roleplay

From the Ashes of an Empire, a hero will rise! Aesica bolsters an active Map-Based Roleplay, set in the backdrop of the waning of a once-great Empire, spanning from West to East, ruled by the Dark Lord. But now the Empire has been reduced to a husk of its original power, with the Dark Lord sealed away in his dark tower. The border regions fight for their independence, and the homelands scrabble to maintain their power. Become an Imperial or Free State, and forge your destiny in the Ashes of Alisor.

In our Fantasy Nation Roleplay, tech periods are mixed and matched with the power of magic. The baseline tech is set at 1900, but our fantasy roleplay gives you the power to go forward and backwards in whatever way you want. Our main goal is to have fun, interact with each other, and tell a good story. The current year is 2E 3874; we have a custom, live-updating time bot, so you can always check the ingame date at any time down to the minute.

The roleplay offers both avenues for a casual worldbuilding experience, to serious and detailed roleplay; Aesica offers both a live-action experience and a slower, worldbuilding and storytelling experience all in one! Create a kingdom loyal to the forces of evil, a mystical magical oasis paradise fighting for freedom, or anything inbetween! Jump in and out at your leisure.
