The Ancient and Ethereal Lady of Feoras is a behemoth, socially progressive nation, ruled by Du Isa and Akira Midorikawa with a fair hand, and notable for its deadly medical pandemics, sprawling nuclear power plants, and daily referendums. The hard-nosed, hard-working, democratic, cheerful population of 51.228 billion Feorasans live in a state of perpetual fear, as a complete breakdown of social order has led to the rise of order through biker gangs.

The minute, corrupt, liberal, pro-business, outspoken government, or what there is of one, is solely concerned with Industry. It meets to discuss matters of state in the capital city of Ryen. Income tax is unheard of.

The frighteningly efficient Feorasi economy, worth an astonishing 20,355 trillion golden apples a year, is driven almost entirely by the private sector, which is broadly diversified and dominated by the Gambling industry, with significant contributions from Retail, Information Technology, and Soda Sales. Average income is an amazing 397,355 golden apples, but there is an enormous disparity between incomes, with the richest 10% of citizens earning 2,215,259 per year while the poor average 35,584, a ratio of 62.3 to 1.

Du Isa and Akira Midorikawa's latest speech included a bizarre reference to MaxWow incontinence pads being 50% more absorbent than the next leading brand, the police are destroying all photographic evidence of their own existence, religious epiphanies are often cited as a reason for high school drop-outs, and chest pains are considered part of the dining experience in Feorasi restaurants. Crime, especially youth-related, is so common that it is unusual to encounter someone following the law, perhaps because of the country's complete lack of prisons. Feoras's national animal is the golden worm, which teeters on the brink of extinction due to widespread deforestation, and its national religion is erratic but always Discordian.

Feoras is ranked 332,678^th in the world and 56^th in The Bar on the corner of every region for Largest Welfare Programs, scoring -70.36 on the Safety Net Mesh Density Rating.
