The Sekhmet Legion Puppet of Erkstag is a mammoth, environmentally stunning nation, remarkable for its punitive income tax rates, suspicion of poets, and stringent health and safety legislation. The cynical, devout population of 9.222 billion Osirans are fiercely patriotic and enjoy great social equality; they tend to view other, more capitalist countries as somewhat immoral and corrupt.

The enormous, socially-minded government juggles the competing demands of Welfare, Spirituality, and Healthcare. The average income tax rate is 56.5%, and even higher for the wealthy.

The large but stagnant Osiran economy, worth 116 trillion scarabs a year, is quite specialized and led by the Soda Sales industry, with major contributions from Information Technology, Retail, and Gambling. Black market activity is notable. State-owned companies are common. Average income is 12,677 scarabs, and distributed extremely evenly, with practically no difference between the richest and poorest citizens.

Organ donation is compulsory, citizens are barcoded to keep track of their movements, a shipwreck is everyone's fault but the captain's, and the government has cut its subsidies for all special interest groups. Crime is totally unknown, thanks to a well-funded police force and progressive social policies in education and welfare. Erkstag's national animal is the scarab, which frolics freely in the nation's many lush forests.

Erkstag is ranked 110,098^th in the world and 405^th in The catholic military orders for Largest Welfare Programs, scoring 1,297.01 on the Safety Net Mesh Density Rating.
