The hard-nosed, cynical, devout population of 11.483 billion Altimazingians are ruled with an iron fist by the dictatorship government, which ensures that no-one outside the party gets too rich. In their personal lives, however, citizens are relatively unoppressed; it remains to be seen whether this is because the government genuinely cares about its people, or if it hasn't gotten around to stamping out civil rights yet.

The large, corrupt, well-organized government juggles the competing demands of Law & Order, Spirituality, and Defense. The average income tax rate is 44.4%, but much higher for the wealthy.

The large but inefficient Altimazingian economy, worth 455 trillion mikas a year, is dominated by the Trout Farming industry, with significant contributions from Door-to-door Insurance Sales, Information Technology, and Arms Manufacturing. State-owned companies are common. Average income is 39,672 mikas, and evenly distributed, with the richest citizens earning only 2.1 times as much as the poorest.

Newborns are being raised as mindless killing machines, elections have been outlawed, military spending recently hit a new high, and dining out often involves owls on the plate no matter what you order. Crime, especially youth-related, is totally unknown, thanks to a very well-funded police force and progressive social policies in education and welfare. Altimazing's national animal is the owl.
