If you would like to view the evolution of the UFN senate through history then click The Party Leader Debate A party leader debate was held by the Electoral Commission on the 30th July 2022. This debate featured our two main party leaders: Spaa, of the newly-founded Solidarity, and Union of the Squids, leader of the Moderate Liberal Party. The debate included: pre-prepared questions, live questions, quick fire questions, and other debates. I, Oralas Latonds, hosted the debate and produced From this data, the Electoral Commission hereby declare that: The Moderate Liberal Party, led by Union of the Squids, are the most electable party. Solidarity, led by Spaa, achieved the greatest change in votes because of the debate. It was a really successful and enlightening event, which certainly helped a lot of citizens with who to vote for in the Senate election. State vs Nagistan Over the past few weeks, a judicial case has taken place. Nagistan, an ex-Prime Minister, was charged by the State Prosecution Service with Sabotage and Violation of UFN Law. The Acting Chief Prosecutor, Oralas Latonds, produced the following summary of the allegations against Nagistan: Violation of UFN Law - Nagistan's own bill states that a right of all Citizens is "from wrongful termination of work". UFN.js follows a system that means it is collectively owned by all employees: Nagistan and Imperial Aukrulan. Nagistan stated that UFN.js was dissolved "by default", which is factually untrue according to her own law. This terminated any work that Imperial Aukrulan, the only other employee, had and infringes on the right of prevention from "wrongful termination of work" Sabotage - Last night Nagistan removed the UFN.js proxy account from this server, an account owned by Nagistan, in the case of UFN.js, but essential for the operation of the company. It was used to pay wages and managed company funds. Not only this, it was the account to manage another company: UFN.js Banking. The declaration for this company does not state that Nagistan owns the account and thus we must assume she didn’t – that it was company property. Both company declarations state that the company is not owned by an individual. Surely, if Nagistan leaves both companies then all property of the company is left to the remaining employee: Imperial Aukrulan? At the time it was removed, it was regional property, as the companies had not been dissolved and it was very much integral in the economic system. This act of sabotage also undermined the region and its functioning – these accounts were heavily involved in the day to day function of the UFN. Now, upon resignation from her posts she stated "I frankly don't give a damn about what happens to the region at this point" - this is clearly malicious and wilful destruction. A date was set, and the case took place, with New Roheau Gallis representing the defendent. However, just the day after, minutes after the verdict had been announced, the Acting Chief Prosecutor remembered a section of law which nullified the verdict: 5.4.3 - As is provided for in Article II, Section III, Clause III of the Constitution, the Supreme Court must also take over from the Trial Court during a criminal case if the case concerns the constitution. Therefore, it was up to Union of the Squids, the only remaining Justice without a conflict of interest in the case, to produce a new verdict for the case. Written by Union of the Squids Verdict for State v Nagistan The two charges brought against Dame Nagistan were: Addressing the latter charge, the constitution states: Shortly after, the sentence was announced by Union of the Squids, concluding the case after two weeks: Nagistan has been found GUILTY of Violating UFN Law. Note that she also loses her membership as a Dame of the Order of Jenkins. Case dismissed & may Jenkins bless your day! News from the Supreme Court The Supreme Court, as well as being integral in the latest judicial case, produced a ruling on an innate contradiction between Article 6 and Article 3 of the Constitution. Article 6 stating that is the job of the party with a majority to appoint the Cabinet, Article 3 stating that it is the job of the Prime Minister. The The Supreme Court has deliberated this case over the last few days; agreeing that the electoral precedent of following Article 6, Section 1, Clause 8 of the Constitution for every single election creates the following verdict. The Supreme Court have unanimously decided that all sections of Article 3 that state: “The [Home/Foreign/Roleplay] Secretary is a Great Officer of State, and is a member of the Senate, appointed by the Prime Minister.” shall be stricken from the Constitution and replaced with the following: In other news, the Supreme Court have been pushing for more Citizens to take our Bar Exam to become Barristers, this is due to a recent shortage. The exam will take you about 20-30 minutes and consists of 12 multiple choice questions, worth 12 marks, and 3 longer questions, worth 20 marks. The exam is therefore out of 32, and you must score 22/32 to pass the exam. The exam is marked by Oralas latonds our Chief Justice. You can take as much time as you want to do it. Make sure you read all instructions carefully - you can even use the Constitution and any other relevant dispatches to help! It's a test of your ability to interpret the law, and construct arguments - it is not a test of guesswork or memory. You can also take the exam as many times as you like, if you do not pass the exam. Probably France, it narrows down the candidates and ensures that everyone gets to vote for who they like the most first, then if they get eliminated, they can vote for the candidate they like the most out of the remaining political pool. And if a candidate gets enough votes but gets eliminated, politicians will notice that and may change or modify their policies accordingly.
