It's been a rough couple weeks and it's arguable that there is good reason not to be especially grateful, let alone say either was the best week ever. My wife lost her mother and that is a hard thing to look beyond. However, I'm thankful to have known her and to experience her welcoming me into the family without hesitation. I'm thankful that she supported my relationship with her daughter. I'm thankful that she embraced my daughter |

Depending on when you’re referring to me leaving TNP. First time was August 2007, at the end of my 2007 coup in TNP. After holding out with limited resources and influence after a two month period, I signed an Amnesty Agreement with the opposition, led by I came back and worked with both the pro and anti coup sides when it came to the Emperor Matthuis incident in October. I come and go from TNP when I feel it is needed. I was surprisingly elected Delegate of TNP again in 2011, against TNP is a place where it require constant tune-ups. I am proud that the Delegacy is stronger than it was when I was first elected. A Delegate after the NPD in 2005 could not go to the bathroom without Cabinet permission. Sneezing was out of the question. Do I agree with the direction of the modern TNP? No. I have massive differences of experiences and opinions on how to run a government in the GCRs than their leadership. I have massive disagreement with their overall vision of the world. I don’t quite fear a TNP/WALL led world as much as I do fear whatever it is Sedge wants, but it’s not the way I’d do things. However - I do genuinely believe that each GCR, feeder or sinker, has its own unique and individual place in game. There’s a reason why each has its own personalities - players have shifted and banded together for some cause and vision. You can’t destroy a GCR, unlike UCRs. Over the years we’ve seen shifts in communities in GCRs and their alignment in NS ideological terms. It’s enough of a struggle to get any excitement anymore in this game and it’d be worse if all the GCRs thought the same. That being said - Down with sham democracy ala popularity contest. Hey folks, As you know, it is nearing the end of Day 420 as Delegate. I want to thank you all for your support during my time in the seat. I'm so proud of this region. For how small we are, we are a region that punches well above our weight. We don't buy into puppetry inflation of our ranks, instead, we are a curated community with shared values and a fond taste for huckleberry pie. Compared to regions of our size, we have been a player in the World Assembly, where we have worked with other regions and friends to protect national and regional sovereignty from well-meaning but ill-intended authors and resolutions. We are a cultural light in the dark, springing forth new ways to engage our community which others emulate. I'm looking forward to having a bit of a break from holding an official position. I think I've been pretty much in some formal role since Halo brought me on as a Guardian in TWP, never mind over the 17.5 years I've been involved in this game. That doesn't mean I'm "retiring" or anything, just pulling back for a bit. Who knows, maybe I'll find some shenanigans to do. Merci! #ThankfulThursday I'm thankful for a great week off work. I've caught up with old friends, played (and finished) a game I'd been wanting to try for a while and discovered an awesome band that tickles all the right parts of my brain when I listen to it. I also have a trip to the theatre tomorrow with a friend to look forward too! |
