Looking from the deck of the third fleets flagship: the Imperatrix Grand Admiral Crassus looked upon the map and began to think when the Aylwater navy began its attacks.

All men to your battle stations, all men to your battle stations!

The alarm blared as the battleships began to fire, destroyers began to screen and search for subs, the cruisers began to fire missiles and began to fire on incoming ships.

"This battle will prove to be one of fire and steel, launch all fighters and strike craft from the carriers!"

The admirals orders were heard and headed, hundreds of men rushed to their craft and began to get ready to take off. Omega squadron was the first to take off, their squad was the most decorated in the Imperium they began to attack the enemy planes with their superior aircraft. The dog fight kept getting more and more hectic as more craft was sent out to aid the Imperial forces. Then the tide began to head into the Imperial favor, the slow turn allowed for craft to begin attacking enemy carriers while planes were still on their decks. The battleships began to hit the enemy ships, hundreds of men where throw from the decks of the Aylwater crafts the fireballs were immense and men on the Latin ships were shocked to see it.

The legionaries have been fighting for days, their numbers were starting to dwindle from the 500,000 that landed 15,000 had died and ammo was starting to run low. The offensives they had made inward to link up with the cohorts of the paralegions were proving to be a slog. Tanks were pushing ahead and making pockets of enemy solders. The mobile infantry was able to keep pace with the tanks, however the slower legions were stuck eliminating the pockets. The Aylwater solders were tough and would not surrender on the spot, it took hundreds dying for the rest of their formations to surrender. The fighting of the land outside the beaches was brutal, getting hand to hand at times.

The first cohort of the second legion (there were fifty deployed) was in the process of taking a near by city when the centurion heard chatter over the radio.

They are advancing, little air support available in need of some kind of aid. Pulling back to nearest east west river, requesting third legion to move in to aid.

"Looks like the enemy wants to fight, ha let them come we'll show them who runs this continent!" A legionary yelled out just as he turned a bullet when through his head. The centurion ordered the men to take cover, as they spread out a squad of Aylwater infantry ran into the town square where the legionaries were and they were gunned down.

The centurion grabbed his radio he yelled "Enemy offensive found and engaged, second legion converge on location in sector II. Fourth legion requested for encircling maneuver!"
