I think it's hard to say whether they are HEADING towards civil war but the LIKELIHOOD of a civil war becomes more likely the more the USA rots. More and more people are falling into poverty, there is desperation and movements are getting bigger. If the people aren't given proper healthcare, if the police brutality doesn't stop, etc, there won't be anything to pacify them and they'll probably try to take things into their own hands. Most likely people of colour will be the front of the movement since there is no facade of privilege to make them think the US is somehow a good country, they've been abused since day one. The question is when does it flip from demanding policy change to realising they should be fighting for real control over the country.
Or maybe, alternatively, the bolstered fascist movement will take a shot first. At which point a whole lot of people are going to find themselves knee deep in conflict unless they feel like rolling over and letting biggots take control. I dunno, a lot of things could happen. Life can be kinda unpredictable at times but.. Again, civil war seems more likely as we trudge on.
cause politics are too complex to plot on a 2d chart? (or any chart for that matter) not to mention the incredibly fuzzy definitions of things like authoritarian (if you are a leftist you basically have to go full on nazbol to be placed in the auth-left quadrant). really, while quizzes like these can be fun to take sometimes, don't take them seriously, they mean basically nothing.

It's kinda a fun thing to do for brain rot purposes but for an actual allignment of politics it's not that great. Not saying you're one of the people who uses it like that, n that's fine just so long as ya know it's not a good measure of actual politics.
People are a lot more nuanced than dots on a grid. Plus, people in this forum before have talked about how concepts of authoritarianism are frequently used to undermine socialist countries while pretending capitalist countries don't do the same thing. It's also kinda divisive. I don't mind rightests being divided but acting like leftists aren't all on the same side is a bit yikes. We already get divided enough without a political compass telling us we're more different than similar.
Also, big distaste for the fascists making memes and using the political compass to pretend tankies are more alike to the fash than our other comrades.
Brainrot "what colour am i" for funsies is okay. People actually trying to describe themselves using the political compass is not so funsies.
No one really wants to die over Republican/Democrat fighting. Most you will probably see is some more rioting and increased power to the state :( Hypothetically tho, if there was a civil war, democrats would most likely lose. Lower gun ownership rates and the fact that there are many more republicans in the armed forces would mean they are outgunned and outmanned (even though democrats have more manpower to throw around). IDK that's just my thoughts on it. Hopefully, we never have one in my lifetime and we just land on the moon again. :)

We are excited to announce that The Laika Accords have fully passed in The Communist Bloc, The Leftist Assembly, and The West Pacific!
The standing period for executive elections begins tomorrow, Friday, 15 October, and will last 7 days. After this, voting will be open to all citizens of The Communist Bloc for 48 hours. If you are interested in running, you can begin familiarising yourself with our Constitution as well as the Law Archive. Specifically, you may want to read the Ministerial Responsibilities Act 2020.
With the recent return of Radicalania, the TCB Card Factory is picking back up. If you would like to get involved in this, you can find more information here. Farming for TCB also has the perk of being able to request cards of higher value.

NationStates now allows SVG images for flags which means that you can have a pretty flag show up everywhere across the site without loss in quality when the image is re-scaled. Additionally, they have added a feature so you can see if someone has outbid you in the Trading Card mini game when you check your bids and auctions.

Rosa Luxemburg settled this question over 100 years ago in Reform or Revolution?. The goal is to overthrow capitalism, not to make it more palatable. Democratic socialism is a dangerous and quite useless ideology whose only benefits are predicated on imperialist plunder of the global south. It was wrong in 1899 when Bernstein proposed his version of it and it remains wrong today when Bernie proposes his. Capitalism but with healthcare is capitalism. Capitalism but with a higher minimum wage is capitalism. Etc. Etc. By making capitalism nicer for the privileged populations of the imperial core “Democratic socialism” actually obstructs our goal, it does not further it.
