The seas will boil. The Sun will ultimately destroy this planet. I think Revelation is fascinating, I think it (or maybe parts of it) would a great mind trip of a movie, even for the non religious.

When I was a precocious pre-teen child, I read The Book of Revelation, and it scared me to death. Especially the little afterword, which says that if you imagine things about the endtimes which are not exactly what is prophesied, it will make your suffering even worse when they arrive.

The Book of Revelation is a very good example of a book which should be kept out of the hands of impressionable and/or imaginative children.

I disagree. I think it should be taught as part of religious education, but contextualized as the probable ramblings of a madman, albeit entertaining ones.

The revelations thing always reminded me of those hellfire and brimstone preachers. As a Catholic I was mainly treated to soft, kind sermons. However, in my mid-teens we had a priest who started not only with the hellfire thing, but also that you should give more and more of your hard earned cash to the church. (I lived in an inner city working class neighborhood--the paycheck to paycheck kind.) I gave up my faith right then and there. (Came back to it tentatively later after my first child was born and I wanted her to be anointed.)

That's what he always said about himself. And that was what he got the Academy Award for. Although he was nominated for "Angels with Dirty Faces."

My nephew was born on Cagney's BD: July 17. But his parents couldn't name him James because that's his older brother's name.

It's where he got his start. George M. Cohan specifically chose Cagney to play him in ‘Yankee Doodle Dandy’.

The funniest film that Cagney and Bogart were in together was the western 'The Oklahoma Kid'.

The Oklahoma Kid: the first and only time Cagney played in a western. But not the only time he did comedy. I particularly liked "The Bride Came C.O.D." with Betty Davis.
