Well I did say we could make it a chat convention if people are not comfortable talking. However I think it would be better if we did both, and maybe extend it due to the communication barriers that way we give everyone enough time to respond?

Week 1 Opening Discussion: Voice or Chat
Week 2 Draft Proposals/ Discussion: Voice or Chat
Week 3 Creation, arguments, agreement : Voice or Chat, Could extend passed week 3 up to week 7 for those willing however let’s try and finish by week 4.
Week 4 Discuss last minute changes approve sign and ratify.

Lmfao you butt 😜 SP can go without activities but as soon as there’s a discussion where the government might not appreciate 👿😈 Haha jk

Okay well just check the suppressed posts you SP Nations! And remember South Pacific is the Best Pacific. If you suppress the South Pacific being the best than I will be shocked haha 😳

I don’t think replying to a response should be considered a suppressed message. But I can go ahead and copy and paste all into the first message if that’s the only way I can get my message across. I was simply bringing activity to the RMB not trying to spam. Also you should know me being here for about two years how I respond I’ve never been treated like this before until now. I find it interesting overall interesting 🤨

Honestly, much as I dislike what the constitution is at the moment, there's no pressing requirement to change it.

Holly United wrote:Hey everyone,

Ya know what I think would be a really cool idea?

This is for the region to decide and also the government to approve.

However I think it would be super awesome if we had a constitutional convention. In a discord/teams/zoom/webx whatever platform we use as long as the government can agree/approve one.

I think it would be awesome to have all the natives including Densaner, Lingang, Dorig, Noxious Air, A Down and Dusky Blonde, Rongorongo.

Also all the new residents including Me, Panther, Johanneslanden, Maowi and any newer residents.

However I think we should make it a year limit for those who have a say/signature on the constitutional convention we should have 1 hour where everyone gets 5 minutes to say what they want from the region, I’m sure it’ll be short, 2nd hour discussion on changes, 3rd hour public forum is over and the doors close to the nations who have not been in the region for more than a year and or if they have been in more than a year before and switched regions and came back they still count. If you have spent any time which amounts to a year you will be allowed to stay and sign on the new constitution agreed to in the meeting.

Requirements: You will need a microphone, if you have a webcam that is welcomed however not required.

Again these are just the prerequisites we are looking at and those can change based on everyone else’s and what the government will approve.

Thank you for reading all that lol,

Let’s plan this! Make it happen make this region what we all want it to be. If we can’t agree to a change than at least we can say we got together. 😜

Sorry I’m use to sending out emails with bullet points I got lazy with this my bad.

I just think it would be better/more legit if we were able to talk. I’ve noticed a lot with teams meetings that the chats get overlooked a lot while people speak. If everyone is willing to do chat we can, I just don’t think we can get things done as fast that way.

If we do a chat based convention than I think we should make it like a month thing. Perhaps we could even make it tradition do it every 1-4 years?

Also I need training with spoilers and when to use them haha 😂 I feel like I should be using it now but I’m not sure haha lol

Here’s a question 🙋‍♂️ Who thinks I could be delegate?

Not next election, but maybe next time or in a few years haha 😂 Really depends on my schedule.

Currently GOVT, ECON, UAS, MODH college has me busy. Civil Air Patrol also wants me to take Command of the Squadron on Buckley. It really depends on if I’ll have the time. However I wanna know what everyone thinks, be blunt honest. Honesty is constructive and I don’t hurt easily so hit me!

While this would be a good idea in a larger region, SP just isn't big enough for a convention to be useful.
Regional events in general are difficult, given the size of the region - and growing the region would take a lot of energy, which no-one has to spare. Aga's limerick contests a while back were good, but anything demanding, like needing people to sign up to discord or get on teams, would be impractical.
I'm also averse to anything that requires a microphone: it's an infringement on privacy, and also gatekeeps the event against those who don't have a functional microphone.
The other constitutional conventions I'm aware of on NS - such as Thaecia's, and I think TSSU did one? have been done in discord chat. I'm aware of several people who refuse to speak in VC, since it's far more personal than simply typing.
Any form of constitutional convention would have to be text-based, and would have to be done on the RMB - if not this one, on a linked RMB like Dreamtime's. You'll notice that ends up looking very like what I did a while back, trying to engage the region in discussing the contitution and its potential changes, which went pretty badly.

Also, I'd like to think that after well over three years here, we're not that new anymore lol

Summer Session Government Elected

The Alcrisian Regierungsrat has held its summer elections, which saw 4 parties and one independent candidate run for the seats on the Governmental Council. Official results from the electoral commission have reported that the election had an election turnout of 91.8%, which is an increase from the spring elections. According to the results the following members will become Alcrisian Governmental Councilors:

Averra (Unity Party)
Wintermoore (Unity Party)
Mistletoe Coast (Movement for Progress)
Avanor (Movement for Progress)
Davintharia (Protectorate Party)

It is currently not clear which councilor will fill which role on the council. According to law, the first council meeting tomorrow will see the councilors select the Council President, and then distribute the remaining council offices amongst themselves.

I'd watch it if the songs were actually good, and not all sung in friggin' English. Plus its turned into some kind of weirdo olympics with some of the 'zanier' acts over the years. I liked the old rules where a country had to submit a song in one of their official languages. I actually liked last year's winner, a decent rocker, sung in Italian. Ukraine should win, their song isn't terrible, and at least they're performing in their own language.

I think the thing with Eurovision is that it’s not about the music any longer, it’s entirely political. That’s why the UK has no change of every winning it again, and why Ukraine will win tonight
