The Constitutional Monarchy of Gay Pope

Pretty Boy wrote:Gay Pope: The information in italics in my posts is from the Wikipedia source on the subject. Sorry, but it makes no sense to misrepresent the situation. Religion in Poland, Russia, the USA, etc. is still being used to marginalise LGBT people. Why deny it?

Oh no, I don't deny it's used as a tool for opression and discrimination againt LGBT folk. I'm disagreeing with this statement "There is an obvious correlation between religious observance and right-wing politics". I mean just look at Europe, religious observance is going down year on year in many if not most European countries, yet the far right parties are winning elections left and right. If religious observance and right-wing politics were correlative we would thus expect to see more progressive voices take the reins over time, but we see the opposite.

If there was truly a correlation between religious observance and right-wing we would expect the most atheist countries to be the most progressive, yet I wouldn't call China or North Korea progressive or LGBT friendly.

Maybe we’re talking at cross purposes. The Catholic Church, which has dwindling support in some countries, nonetheless fights against rights for LGBT people tooth and nail, every time. That has an adverse effect on us, but it doesn’t stop all gay Catholics from continuing to practise their religion.

The Catholic Church is an enormous cultural web. Fascinating, as long as you let your conscience be your guide. When I was 14 I pondered becoming a priest for all of ten minutes, then spent a whole afternoon wondering what it would be like to be a simple Franciscan monk working with the poor. Of course I was never anywhere good enough for that.

Wrath beat Lust by 4 to 3. There were 15 votes in all. Good poll Office Girls.

Thank you ! 😸
And there's a new one coming up !

The Chartered Institute of Office Girls

And there it is !
I think this may well be THE best poll EVER!!!

There's a big difference between atheist nations as a matter of personal belief, and and state sponsored atheism.

Communist/Socialist/Fascist governments typical remove spiritual religions, adopt a state religion based in nationalism/government/or the leader. (I.e. Nazi ideology of Arian purity, CCP sponsored Buddhism, North Korea cult of personality around the Kims.)

In the void of power is anarchy and a power grab, in the void of organized religion are personality cults, bastardized religions, and government sponsored nationalism.

I was refering to the atheism of the populations, not the stances of their government to be fair. 😅

Eh, that's not how it reads. Might want to clarify a little to avoid confusion in the future.

Here are two interesting articles on religious practices/history in China (specifically since Mao)

The Kingdom of Olarista

Since the Office Girls did a poll about the NS countries. I will suggest another poll regarding this.

Poll: If your NS country existed, would you live there?

I'm sorry about my English. I'm still learning to write and read in English. I'm still dumb about it.

You write in English perfectly well, Olarista, but it’s not something to worry about. Portuguese was a language used here occasionally in earlier days because one of our officers was from Brazil. In real life I live in Spain and people have to listen to my less-than-perfect Spanish.

In Pretty Boy, teenage TV characters are played by thirty-year-olds by the end of the second season.

Thanks for the compliment!
Very cool to know that there was a Brazilian here. Spanish is difficult for me to understand when speaking orally, but in writing I can understand it well.

The Tangled Wonder of Homosexual Love

I am not going to deal with this individual Gay Pope/Protestant Pope any more. His telegrams to me are the problem. I don’t want to waste any more time on this.

The Principality of Pretty Boy

Poll result: “How old is your nation's leader ?

The most popular leadership age group is 25 to 34 years old with 6 votes, but there are 11 votes for the various age groups of people over 55 (some old enough to remember the Pyramids). There were 23 votes in all, a good turnout.

The Tangled Wonder of Homosexual Love

Why was Gay Pope banished? It was a continuation of the Liberfreedomia drama. I’ve un-suppressed those posts from last month to keep everything in the open.

There was a torrent of telegrams from him yesterday. It’s all been settled and I wish him well. I asked Union of Christian Nations to get involved, which reluctantly they did. These unpleasant experiences on the internet don’t happen to me often, but boy, can they spoil your day.

I've never seen so much drive to interact in this manner before. I'm hoping that it stops here and this stuff doesn't get revived again.
