Some focus on education for their members, some try to gain political influence, some are part of military or police branches or cooperate heavily with them but every secret society that is classified as being an opponent to the democratic aspects or monarch of the nation have been banned since 1942, when communists tried to assassinate Queen Lilly Elena and her successor Prince Kilian Henry. One secret society also works closely on protecting royalty, so they are very different and sometimes even rivals to each other.

Wow, that's quite the history! It sounds like your nation has seen its fair share of intrigue. Do these secret societies still play a significant role in your country's affairs today?

Well, assassination attempts weren't uncommon for a long time. But only few nobles actually died from them, the most important being Prince Consort Alexander Mateo of Allicante. I'm still working on his story but it's nearly finished. As for now, most secret societies integrated into modern life more or less, some kept their traditions, others only share the name of their ancestors. Most kept their functions, like in the military, police or education. The ones deemed criminal were mostly disbanded by the Ministry against Judicial and Political Corruption in Eishafen with the help of the Agents of the Night. A few members still remain, some have isolated themselves into religious sects but there is no real threat there beside a few concerns about incidents or espionage
