Launch of Eden I
With the nation healing and the government restored, it would be only fitting for Albany to look to the stars. Eden I, a mission bound for our moon Apollo is seeing the delivery of the first two new habitat modules of a planned thirty five to be sent up and established over the next year and a half as Albany kicks New Columbia Base into overdrive as it is renamed Freedom City in honor of the people who gave their lives for the freedom of all Albanese people in the coup.

Mission Commander Adelaide Agonid (47) is commanding her third moon mission and was the first Albanese mission commander born outside the Union. Commander Agonid was born in the Mydic Empire and immigrated after attending the University of Providence Light in Providence, Albany. Joining the Air Force first and then becoming a test pilot, Commander Agonid was able to establish herself as a pioneer. She helped develop the A-612 stealth bomber as well as the Seraph Capsule which is what cargo missions use to send the material down to the Apollonian surface.

President Prescott took the extraordinary step of informing the Sartorian Ambassador to Albany that the Union would not attend the proposed summit state dinner in Vekkla if Sartoria was not in attendance. She cited her deep respect for her fellow superpower and democracy. She expressed belief that the Union could find Sartoria as a trustworthy partner in uncertain global times.

The President was said to be offended upon initially hearing that the Valentian Alliance’s security guarantor was not invited to an impromptu summit to discuss bilateral bloc relations. She did however praise the initiative and stated she was grateful for the invitation itself and that should the situation be rectified she would be delighted to attend if her doctor could sign off. If not she offered to have Vice President Allison Wilson and her wife, Second Lady Claire Aspenwood attend in her stead.
