Protectorate hungary

15th of November, 2020. A TV screen's light glared in the dimly lit room as one man and one woman slouched on the present leather sofa in a small hotel room. The screen had the words 'Magyar Új Élő' plastered over an impossibly obnoxious baby blue and pink background, with the speakers blasting out the incredibly irritating theme song of the news station. Once this mandatory suffering had ceased, the screen cut to a video of a reporter standing outside a grandiose looking building; a projector displayed a chart with two bars, one in dark blue blue with the words 'Mezőgazdasági-Munkás' written vertically down it, and the other in bright red with 'Keresztény Szocialista' splashed on it. The blue bar was slightly higher above the red one, crossing a dotted horizontal line with the number two hundred and seventy written across it. People outside the building had mixed looks of shock, disappointment, disappear, and disgust on show as they rather despairingly milled about outside the building: at this point the results were all but confirmed.
A reporter was front and centre of the screen after a few seconds, with the previous scene becoming the background of the new one. Her voice lacked emotion and she spoke with a very matter of fact tone, however her face had a hint of worry running across it that was readable to one well versed in human non-verbal communication.

"Melyukov Kata of Magyar Új Élő reporting at Tiboria Central Square. Tonight will prove to be a historic moment, as the Mezőgazdasági-Munkás have been able to clinch their first electoral victory since 2007, defeating Jason Coro-Coro's Keresztény Szocialista party in a very tight race over two months involving hundreds of public speeches, demonstrations, and rallies in many cities in Hungary, however ultimately the conservatives were able to take just enough seats to obtain a majority in parliament." The screen then cut to footage of Adorjan Voy, now head of the Hungarian parliament, giving a speech to his supporters in the city of Tab a week earlier.
"In the coming week, you: the Magyar people; shall make a decision that will determine the fate of our great nation forever. Shall we continue to kowtow and placate foreign exploiters who see our nation as nor more than a tool for their own use, or shall we be the determiners of our own fate? The Keresztény Szocialista would have you believe that their inaction towards these outside threats are somehow to our own benefit; by avoiding conflict themselves they claim to promote peace and reconciliation across the world - but look at the very world they wish to reconcile with, and you do not need me to tell you it has not seen peace! Throughout our past, there have always been those that have desperately tried to argue in favour of the kleptocratic practices of the seapeople running our land and people to ruin; but a simple look back will show you that these people have always been those with the most to gain and the least to lose from their subservience; whilst the peasants, farmers, and workers toil for a master who is not their own. Save the future of this land, vote for the Mezőgazdasági-Munkás!" The screen then returns to the scene from earlier.
"Many in opposition to Adorjan question his seemingly budding relationship with the restored emperor of Kkhano, but regardless Voy's rhetoric won the heart of most people, as his party has now taken a majority in the Senate and pushed the Keresztény Szocialista out of power for the first time in-"
"They're just saying the same thing now, we can stop watching."
"But I was just getting interested in it!"

Darnia, spymaster in Svalbard's Third Sector, put a stop to the playback as her partner Mikhail complained in a rather childish manner: pouting and winging about how they should keep watching. Darnia immediately got up and started packing their stuff away - Mikhail followed suit reluctantly after a short while. The two of them had been sent to Hungary to gain further intel into the backstage happenings of the election; and with what they found pertaining to Adorjan Voy's shading dealings with a certain other current person of interest to the Third Sector, the situation had become seemingly untenable, and as such action from Svalbard would be required, and swiftly and sharply at that.
"So uh, what do we do now then?" Mikhail groggily queried Darnia - having only woken up recently, unlike his comrade, he was still fairly out of it.
"Well, obviously, we report this to Sarah and her lot, and they'll give it to the government."
"Right, yeah, Sarah, yeah yeah yeah... Who's Sarah again?"
"Oh for the love of all things holy in this world..."
