The Commonwealth of Arwindom 3 years 203 days ago OOC: IT'S BEEN A YEAR! Exactly a year ago, on the 24th of October, I was sitting in a music class with nothing to do. I, being the diligent student I am, of course asked for more work went to google and searched up "nation simulators", with the first result that popped up being something called "NationStates". Without thinking, I dove head-on into the process of founding my Elysium on earth, which I conveniently named... What? That name's taken? Bugger. Hmm. How do I name it? I went to Google again for advise how to create a name, and some wise person caught my attention by saying that you should combine two words that highlight your nation's values. Just like that, Arwindom was born - a portmanteau of the words "army" and "wisdom" which I thought (and still think) represented my nation to the fullest. Hey, it did have a good ring to it! And so it began. For a long year now, I have entered surges of activity when I worked tirelessly on shaping my nation and caring for its people followed by periods of stagnation when my mind was preoccupied with things more urgent (right now, duh:D). Arwindom became part of my life. It shaped me just as much as I shaped it. I cannot tell you how much I learned and developed as a person from the hours I spent researching bi-cameral parliaments and fission reactors. This place became my outlet of creativity, my world, so to speak, where I was lord and all my earthly problems were all but non-existent. I can definitely say that this country has taught me tenfold more than what I learned in this half-virtual schoolyear! I want to take this opportunity to thank all of you for providing such a good environment for my country to develop and prosper. I want to thank you for your support and your help with forging certain aspects of my nation. Yes, several times I have admitted to openly hating this region and wanting to leave it, but so far I have calmed down all the times and as of right now I have no intention of leaving my home, Northern Utopia. May our people live long and prosper. May Northern Utopia thrive with peace inside and goodwill from the outside. May we all be happy and enjoy the wonder that is NationStates! Thank you all!
