The Interuniversal Civilization of Aivintis

Want to know what the Ministry of Culture is going to do this month? No? Well too bad then.

With a very high rate of success in my June 2020 Goals, I'm looking forward to an active month for the Ministry of Culture. This month I still have some work to do before MoC is finally, officially, fully open for business, but I believe that with the proper amount of work I can do events this month, too.

Goal #1: Forum Infrastructure

"Forum Infrastructure" is a term used by Zukchiva, the BPA Director, to describe the essential threads needed to run an efficient and transparent government department. Or at least that's how I interpreted it, and how I'm using it here.

The Ministry of Culture's Infrastructure is mostly set up, as that was a big part of my June 2020 Targets, but there are still some things that, while not required, are essential, in my opinion, to keeping the Ministry efficient and transparent.

The Poll Megathread is an old thread formerly used by the Ministry of Culture long before my time for people to submit ideas for polls. I will merge this idea with the old CYOA poll submission thread to create a new Megathread where people can submit poll and CYOA ideas. These submissions can be as vague as "Favorite Mythical Creature poll" or as detailed as to include every option, the full title, and a description. Posting in the thread will not guarantee that the poll gets made but it is a good way to involve the average resident in our "think tank".

Apart from just polls and CYOAs, there still needs to be a way for people to submit feedback. A place for comments, questions, and suggestions. This idea also belongs to Director Zukchiva and the BPA, but I believe it is a good way to promote transparency within the government and improve the Ministry of Culture in ways that could not have been done if we did not allow community input. There will be a forum thread and dispatch, and feedback can be submitted publicly on the forum or RMB, privately through telegrams and Direct Messages, and anonymously through a google form. All of these will be answered to the best of my ability, or the best of my Deputies' abilities, in a dispatch and on the forum thread.

Making a dispatch and forum thread for every official MoC report, record, or what have you is a running theme recently, but there are still dispatches that aren't also forum threads and forum threads that aren't dispatches. I will also do my best to make it so that everything is on both a Dispatch and Forum Thread, with links to both versions in both versions. That way someone can check my main account's Dispatches under Account > Culture or they can check the Executive forum's Culture subforum. All in the name of transparency and record keeping.

Goal #2: Project Records

I already have a template for keeping records, one that I use right now for Current Projects, and I already have my "Minister's Notes" dispatch which essentially outlines potential future projects. If I make a uniform system for keeping records of past, present, and future projects, and then put them to use in a forum thread and dispatch, I can keep these detailed records, perhaps at time with some assistance so that we know definitively what we have done in the past, what ideas we have for the future, and what we are doing now. Of course I will keep a dispatch and forum thread for each one of these: past, present, and future.

Goal #3: Festival of the Birds and the Bees

This was already being planned last month and if we can finish organizing the discord server and preparing for the event itself, we can send the invite out before the end of the month. My milestones for this one are 25 verified members, 50 verified members, and 75 verified members. I'm aiming for 50 but I would like to reach 25 soon after the invite is sent out and if I reach 75 it will have been a highly successful festival.

Goal #4: Bring Your Own Puppet Day

This has been planned, now it must be organized and executed. I want to do this mid or late July, and if we have a turnout of 20 participants it will have been successful, considering it isn't a full blown festival.

Goal #5: Choose Your Own Adventure

As I mentioned in my June Report, this has been delayed due to circumstances beyond our control. I am hoping we can get the ball rolling this month. If not, I will step in to help. I go more in detail on this in the June 2020 Report.

Other

In my June 2020 Report (link above) we ended up doing more than originally planned. I am completely open to spontaneous bouts of activity, and I wish to note that there might be unforeseen events, happenings, etc. by the Ministry of Culture. While they cannot be added to the Targets list because we don't know what they could be, they will be added to the July 2020 Report.
