The Merchant Republic of Environmental Support Although OOC I never had the time to finish writing my constitution, canonically ES has no executive branch. It doesn't follow the traditional Montesquieu separation of powers as executive power is non-existent at a federal level. It does exist at a local level, having been delegated to local authorities to maintain general law and order. There is no head of state, only a head of government. The international responsibility of the head of state falls to the entire legislative body, both councils, and in a way to every member of ES. While the administrative function of head of state simply is not present. Is it a perfect system? In my beautiful fantasy world of nation-states it is. In the real world? It would probably collapse into a dumpster fire. |
The 2nd Deliberative Theocracy of Free Transhumanists It might not be that big of a problem. Might it be absent in definition of modern state? Sure... but consolidated executive branch is not a necessity. What about Feudalism? It had legal symbol of a ruler, yet it was in form of executive totally decentralized. True, not an example that you would like be compared to I guess :D But nonetheless it is worth mentioning. Then there is the idea of centrifugal federation - these things tend to be transitional, yet they are at least in theory sustainable, that would be the case of your nation. ALSO! I believe it hugely depends on society, technological environment, and mostly political context - it is not unusual that the informal institutions are way more important and diametrically differentiating from those formal structures which might not matter that much in the end. So, even if there would be some sort of a dysfunction in form of a formal norm these could be easily compensated and overcomed. When speaking about informal institutions - political culture is worthy to be especially mentioned, in political science the outcomes of political cultures tends to be even more important than the formalities of political system itself (thats actually my RP problem - state of political culture is different from idea of formal democracy in order to work in FTR, that is why it was postponed). |
The Anarcho-Mutualist CityStates of Cudoocadaa We've been in Space but never actually brought citizens off the planet into space. Its mainly only been highly trained astronauts. |
The AnarchoCapitalist CityStates of Greater Landlordia No need for donations, an open trade will suffice. Landlordians have had worse before and all cities were well equipped with nuclear shelters prior to the war because its a requirement for all developers to build nuclear shelters for their buildings. |

Everyone, BOPDR's next debate will be on immigration. It will be at 9:00 AM AEST Sunday, or 6:00 PM EST (I think. That could be CST) Saturday. The specific topic should be 'In what cases is increased immigration a good thing?'. If you would like to sign up to participate in the debate, telegram me about it, and I will add your name to the list. |
🌍 Day 10 Free Market Federation The Free Market Federation is a science-fiction based roleplaying region. Whilst I disagree with the free-market ideology espoused by members of this region, I can recognise, through what I have seen of the efforts of members of this region, that this region boasts a reasonably well-developed roleplay, as well as an active community. |

The Hegemony of French Kanaidia 9 days of purgatory and here we are in a new one. Stripped of a nation unknown to thee but glorified by those who their gaze was set upon. To face the ever-changing facts and dealings of life. To be forgotten and left to rot and to live or die is the great life we live here, may all who be rotted away be remembered eternally. |
