Here in Sweden, Christmas has begun now. We celebrate already at Christmas Eve here, and we are also in an earlier timezone than Brazil.

Merry Christmas, Happy Holidays, Good Yule or whatever midwinter feast you may celebrate.

On the occassion of the wrap up of the current year coming to a close, on behalf of Krillin I would like to extend my utmost regards to you all in welcoming the upcoming new year amongst the dearest people in your circle no matter in whichever time zone you happen to live in.

Without out of the way, I would like to wish you all a most cherished Happy New Year : )

Hello everyone, this is a new nation. I had a previous account which was named "The Red Society". I decided to come back out of nostalgia and because this is a calmer, more friendly region, which fits better with my personality.

Redswap is politically liberal/libertarian, and also I wanted to start with lower taxes and try to keep them low. And so it's a liberal libertarian democracy basically.

I already know people here so it's more fun to read the RMB in my opinion, and also there's less messages because it's a small region. Other regions RMB are nearly unreadable, or you have to select what you want to read. I set my issues release frequency to 48 hours between each so that I don't become bored or "overplay" Nationstates.

Ejoland what's fun with trying to keep taxes low is that it's hard because often there's only one option that lowers taxes in each issue. My goal is to (kind of) maximize average disposable income.

Sooo... with private ownership of the means of production this time? The Red Society had, as far as I remember, a kind of market socialism, but with a strong emphasis on the free market. But Redswap is simply hardcore capitalist instead?

Well NationStates would make my nation have high taxes if I tried market socialism, because then it would think I am just some random crazy heavy spending leftist. In reality, if that were the case, taxes would stay the same or go lower because of the profits the government is making. But right now I'm in a kinda nice position, my nation is classified as "left leaning college state", which means it's already kinda a socialist nation with low taxes, it's just that the ownership of the means of production are still concentrated in private hands. But inequality is really low in Redswap, so it's not really a problem.

The fact that my nation has no public education is hilarious.

Damn the number of nations in here has plummeted since I left the region. I must have been important!

The fact in question is that there are strong rumors that a Gestonian politician that was very active in this forum until the recent past may have had plans to reignite tensions between your country and the Maxim III regime to make future political and financial profits from it. But thanks to a spy of mine (who will be awarded for this, of course) and a politically suicidal attitude from an ally, this plan would have gone down the drain, at least for now.

I will do this in my nations too, sometimes I feel a little guilty for not resolving issues frequently (despite visiting this site daily) and at the same time when I start to resolve them I don't feel like resolving 5 every time or resolving them in time that appears to prevent me from getting 5 (I don't even consider NationStates statuses to be canon in my nations now), so this might be the solution to my problem.

This clearly prevent nations from designating specific areas for cigarette smokers (it would be considered an "act of genocide"). So if you voted for this I assume you are against cigarette smokers discrimination. :)

No, it doesn't, if we consider his argument plausible, put children in schools would be genocide because we would be forcefully putting children and adolescents in these institutions against their will because we would put them (two groups or one group, young people) into designated areas (schools). Forbide smokers of smoking in closed areas is not genocide, because we are not being violent or isolating them, only saying they need to smoke somewhere else.
