Look John Kentucky, measure your words before you address me and offend my country and its main allies with lies. You're not even a head of state, you're a former failed head of government who lost his bid for a second term in 2004 for being too liberal, instead of picking on me, start your campaign to see if you can defeat my ally Kevin McCarphy in 2024! I don't even know if you're going to win your party's primaries. Spare me, Kentucky, for God's sake! I don't know what fetish liberals like you have with the idea of me being killed, am I imprisoning people in forced labor camps by any chance?

Calm down Kentucky, the policy of discouraging is not necessarily fascist. Depending on what you mean by "discourage abortion," improving the infrastructure of orphanages or giving poor women financial, psychological, and emotional support to care for their future babies falls under "discouraged abortion." Research indicates that countries where needy mothers receive state aid to care for their future babies, the rate of abortions is lower (OOC: in fact, in rich countries the rate is lower, now if this is due to state aid to future mothers it is debatable).

Of course, if what is meant by "discouraging abortion" is shouting in the face of a raped woman that she deserved to go through it and THAT GOD WANTS her to give birth to the baby conceived that way, humiliating women who think about abortion and burning alive people seeking access to abortion is a Nazi policy and should be repudiated by Democrats like you and me, but discouraging abortion is not just that.

Corteza is right, people's opinion on this matter should not be based on angry rants by extremists like John Kentucky and Greta Thunberg (OOC: he includes her because of the image in this link: https://scoop.upworthy.com/greta -thunberg-pro-choice-reasons-why-women-get-abortions-pie-chart), but in serious, moderate and constructive debate about reality. Is it healthy to trivialize the idea that the formation of a human life can be interrupted by the human being? would discouraging work better than prohibiting in all cases? Is it really democratic to impose that abortion is an inviolable sacred right? Debates like this make democracy evolve. Thank you and good night.

- Kevin McCarphy, Prime Minister of Gestonia

[Changing sender]

Me extremist? look who's talking, the only difference between you and Trussendart, McCarphy, is that you have enough media training to make the extremist ideas of your field seem reasonable to the common citizen. The point that Corteza raised does give us a new perspective, but I don't agree with him that these policies fit into a state policy of discouraging abortion, I could be wrong, but I think the idea of Krillin's conservatives about what is discouraging abortion is very different. The pro-life movements that I know, coincidentally or not, are against this type of policy, why? 🤔

Sorry to bother you again, but it's for an academic study by a Gestonian friend of mine. He wants to understand how the people of Krillin would see the idea of implementing the discouragement of abortion as a state policy to reduce the number of aborted babies per year. According to him, even in places where the practice is prohibited, it happens in high numbers due to the lack of concietization policies of the authorities in these countries about the moral and ethical reasons (not only from a Christian perspective, but from a human perspective) to prohibit this practice. My purpose with this is not to stir up an uproar or promote myself politically, why I would resort to such a democratic practice being an absolute monarch? what would I gain from that?

OOC: I will put here the vote I personaly would do. It would be unfair to players that don't have puppet nations if all my countries voted here.

July 29, 2023

Nicolaus is reflecting on his work as he reads a boring and detailed report on the water quality of Drussian rivers. He's almost falling asleep reading the text until Wilhelmina appears in the doorway.

Wilhelmina: Hi son, good afternoon.
Nicolaus *hurriedly waking up*: "The Trakarosky River is a freshwater river located in the Ignea Oblast. Unfortunately the pH of the river is too alkaline for the local aquatic life, with a pH of 11.2."! Right, another river with too alkaline pH. *and he writes this information down in a physical notebook* Hi mom, good afternoon, I'm reading this report.
Wilhelmina: You can read this later, now I would suggest you do something much more important: use your newly gained authority as a junior adviser in this region governed by weak leaders to do research on discouraging abortion.
Nicolaus: The leaders of Krillin are respectable (except the illegal communist regime of Ejoland) and one of them is our ally Relena I of Qassadia.
Wilhelmina: Of course I don't include her son, I'm talking about the others.
Konstantin Rodnaevisk: By the way, although I agree with this idea, but I don't like being suggested by you, as a Christian woman, you should have to be submissive.
Wilhelmina: To my father and my husband, not to an imbecile like you! I know my gender limitations you ignorant don't accuse me of feminism. In fact, Nicolaus is probably the most feminist person in this room.
Edward, coming into the room looking for a pen: With two crazy anti-feminists like you, it's easy for Uncle Nicolaus to be the most feminist person in a room. Uncle Nicolaus, do you have a pen?
Wilhelmina: Hey kid, did I ask you something?
Nicolaus: Of course, but for what?
Edward: To do math account.
Nicolaus: Do it with pencils, then.
Edward: The teacher wants in pen.
Nicholas: What? Is this teacher crazy?
Valentina: It's a school project, Uncle Nicolaus, the ideal would be for Edward to do it in pencil and then rewrite it in pen.
Wilhelmina: It doesn't matter! You don't have anyone to look up to you to come here and distract the Emperor with that kind of thing? Shoo..here is the pen! Okay, where was I?...oh, right, by doing this research you can make citizens of this region aware that protecting the unborn child is not the same thing as a bunch of cavemen threatening to lynch a woman if she doesn't give birth to a child. You can save lives and still weaken a very powerful satanic industry.
Augustus Midegart: Aren't you the same person who suggested that the Emperor flirt with the Empress of Qassadia?
Wilhelmina: That's not what I did, you imbecile, I just thought about the possibility of a political pact. This proposal is much better thought out and beneficial for Nicolaus, for me and for Krillin.
Midegart: And what would you get out of it?
Wilhelmina: That's a good question...I mean, I would be happy and content with every life that would be saved by this. If we save ONE life, I'll be very fulfilled.
Midegart: The fact that you funded pro-life NGOs when you were a feudal lady of Vagsh has nothing to do with it, does it?
Wilhelmina: I didn't fund anything, I just made donations. And even if I did, would it be a Christian person helping Christian groups, or would I rather have used the money to fund the marijuana market and gender studies research?
Midegart: No, not at all.
Wilhelmina: Hmm...Nicolaus?
Nicolaus: I already thought about doing that but then I reflected and thought that would be extremely disrespectful and people would interpret it as Drussia forcing itself to be the protagonist of Krillin's politics through factoids.
Wilhelmina: Factoids? Son, don't you realize the absurdity of what you're talking about now?
Nicolaus: ...you're right, let's do this.

"Hmm... While my country can't be bothered by this moral dilemma, we can't support a ban on abortion. We don't think that people should be made by a country to be used as walking VATs; that would be dehumanizing in our government's opinion" - Azya Zaavim, president of Ajidiali

I understand your need to do political theater to please your constituents in the times of social media, John Kentucky, but know that there are limits to social relationships that must be respected. I wouldn't be surprised if this poll had equal or lesser membership than the one I put out recently or most Krillin leaders responded that they don't care, I'm just another leader, you're not even that.

I don't understand why the press and politicians of Gestonia and Gustatopolis talk so much about me, is it because of my appearance, my early age or because monarchies are interesting? I don't hate you, Kentucky, I just think you're an inconvenience.

RYKKLAND
for PRESIDENT
United Regions Alliance
Experience - Commitment - Vision

Overview

I have been in NationStates since 2006. At one time I was voted 17th most influential player in GamePlay (2009). I have a proven background in community management and administration and I have a history in both IC and OoC policy development and executive leadership. My main community (the Kodiak Republic) has a reputation as a neutral power and one willing to experiment with new systems. I want to make a clear statement that it is my objective to work with purposeful intent to build a better URA today.

Vision and Priorities

Better Community Management
To establish an environment where the alliance feels well managed, driving confidence and involvement from member citizens and member regions.

Discord Server Overhaul
Review and rebuild the Discord-based communication server to minimise clutter, ensure intuitive access to information, and eliminate unused channels.

Encourage & Reward Interaction
Addressing the low volume of server interactions by designing mechanisms to incentivise active participation. The URA does not need to be a centralised community but it should be a common-sense resource for member regions' leadership as well as an approachable space for participation in our central goals: World Assembly influence, cooperation, and collaboration.

Review Executive Policy & Strengthen the Alliance
As part of the larger cabinet committee, failing or rotting systems should be reviewed during the more active period while it is here. Alliance systems should be built so that they do not fall apart during the low activity periods. This may include being open to changing the nature of the executive committee.

Outreach & Foreign Affairs
The foreign policy of the alliance must be more obvious and properly tiered by priority. We must work to maintain established relationships, present a more interactive tone with larger delegates, and above all else facilitate positive relationships within the alliance's member states. We must be brave as well as honest in our dealings internally and externally.

In-Character and Inter-Community Integrations
We should provide sound opportunities for the IC governments of our alliance members to interact. The variability of themes within the alliance makes direct influence between member states difficult and our alliance is well placed to act as a black-box to translate and telegraph interactions between communities which may otherwise be incapable of interacting.

Bolgatostand | Holy Utopian Empire -

Vote for Bolgatostand
Who am I?
I am Bolgatostand and As an ambitious individual, I, Bolgatostand, have always taken opportunities when they arise. When I saw the opportunity to run for Director of Foreign Affairs of the URA, I knew I had to take that risk. This role is a serious one, and I acknowledge the importance of it. But I am here because it is my passion. I love working and getting involved, which is why I am the Minister of Foreign Affairs of HUE - a two-month-old region and a URA member region. With me in control, the diplomacy of HUE quickly grew. And I am confident that the URA can succeed if given the same opportunity.

I plan to get thoroughly involved in this alliance, but this is only the first step towards getting higher and higher in the ranks. One day, I dream of seeing the URA get commended and recognized for all the hard work and dedication of its members. I am running for the position of Director of Foreign Affairs because I take pride in my work, and I am confident in my abilities. I am a strong leader, and I know that my skills will be invaluable in this role. With me in office, the URA will continue to expand its diplomacy and make a significant impact in the world of regional diplomacy. So, please consider voting for me, Bolgatostand, as the next Director of Foreign Affairs of the URA, and trust that I will put all my effort towards the betterment of this alliance and all its members.
